Shenzi was about to say something in response to his smirk, when she heard a loud rumble. She burst out laughing, grabbing a pillow from the bed and chucking it at him with a grin. "Someone's a little hungry."

With a violent double snap, Richard's tentacles swatted the pillow projectile from the air sending spiraling back towards the bathroom door. It collided with the door with a soft thud, knocking a towel off the full length mirror mounted on the door.
The mirror reflected Richard's appearence and he immediately grew somber. He looked into his own eyes for a moment and then tore his gaze back to Shenzi. "I... could eat."

Raising an eyebrow, she grinned at his immediate blocking. "Aw, you take all the fun out've it!" She said, pointing a mock-accusatory finger at him.
With his bland statement, though, the smile disappeared, and, with an entirely straight face, she responded "Well, that would be a good thing. I dunno, but just maybe that might help. I mean, I could be wrong..."

Eating was another reminder to Richard how far he had changed internally. He had always enjoyed food. All types of food, especially if it was suppositly unhealthly but since his last change he filled his plate with meat. Even if he added a side of potatoes or a hot buttered roll, it went untouched unless he forced himself. Nothing tasted the same either. So like his own image, he had been avoiding it as much as possible.
Futile as it might be.
He looked at Shenzi and tried to smile. "Well it has been a day or so since I ate." It sounded so silly and imature to admit to.

Shenzi put on a look of ernest sympathy. "Aww, and why've you been skipping meals?" And she gasped over dramatically. "Richard... Are you anoerexic? You're not fat, it's okay to not be a stick!" She said, a small titer escaping her as she tried not to laugh.

Richard actually bared his teeth at Shenzi and nearly growled at Shenzi before he caught himself. "You'll probably understand later." Suddenly bitter all over again. The changes simply weren't a laughing matter yet. He had been able to do it a few weeks ago with Awen but now that he had spent an entire week alone dwelling on them, nothing seemed funny.

Shenzi fell silent as he bared his teeth, a frown on her face. What'd she say? Deciding to let the topic drop, she shrugged. "O-kay... Umm, so, do you want to... Do anything? Like, besides sit here?" She said, a sheepish grin replacing the frown.

Richard stood up. There was no getting around it. He body was positively excited about the propect of food. "No getting around it now. I'm starving." He opened the door and looked back at Shenzi expectantly.

The grin still on her face, Shenzi hopped up from the bed, the plaid skirt flouncing with the motion, giving a brief, unintentional flash of skin. "Right-o." She said, smiling broadly at him as she wne out the door, giving him a courtly cursty as if he were the gallant knight, laughter echoing in her eyes.
