Scientists in Japan recently discovered genetic change built on the practice of meditation, the object of reality being what manifests of the mind. I believe we all walk around with some sort of mutation because of what we think of the world and everyone's different perspective. The interior manifesting life to the exterior in a matter of speaking.

so you people wish to know about the origin of cat people do you? well I can fill you in on some bits to how they get along. I will you my specie, the Jannis as an example: back in the day, long time ago there existed a civilization of people, the Fighter Civilization. These people were living in a world with a very hazardous environment and were trying to find new ways to adapt ans survive. the Fighter people found the DNA of a cat-like beast called "Jannis". taking the genes of this beast, the Fighter people were able to modify their own DNA and in doing so, they were able to survive extreme environments. In time, the Jannis chromosone began to mutate, soon becoming the dominant gene of the Fighter people. Now each type of Jannis they found could survive in different areas and each of these Jannis gave themselves individual specie names: Jannis-T, Jannis-K, Jannis-R and JannisV (that's said Jannis 5).
each Jannis has one similar trait to them all, appendages of the cat like structure (paws, ears, tail) and each has the ability to change into a full beast form. We descendants of the Jannis-types (Myself being Jannis-K), no longer have the ability to change into the full beast for, so we appear as normal nekos.
Most are created in labs or other facilities due to genetic splicing. Not always made as a technological weapon, but sometimes injected with an serum or inplanted with a said "gene". In other nekos, there were werecats that managed to infect humans by a simply scratch that broke into the skin, not a bite like werewolves. Others are actual beings known as half-beasts (most nekos are half-beasts). Then of course there are feline spirits that inseminate women, resulting in neko people.
There are many ways nekos come to be: genetic splicing/modifying, contact with beasts, insemination, cross species copulation, it all depends on the neko. in the case of Feli Island, it's probably populated with half-beasts or feline demons that plan to curse other beings. who knows.... it all depends on the cat.

well it depends on how the story is witen, the norms are, A born that what, B) genetic mutation, or C) magic of some sort(curse, hex, spell, selinflected magic, ect.) as for how to make a catgirl/ catboy in real life, you'd need to muck around with genetics...alot rolleyes

I believe that cat DNA has gotten into at least one human, and as soon as that human bred and that humans childrens' children..They would have all came up with small deformities until finally full tales and ears have mutated onto their human beings. smile

The main problem would be the combination of the two one would need Recessive cat genes and dominant human genes. Cell Membrane: A barrier to the outside world, also controls materials moving in and out of the cell Cytoplasm: Jelly like substance that makes up the inside of the cell ORGANELLES Golgi bodies: Transport protein outside the cell (this is known as exocytose) Mitochondria: Power house of the cell, produces ATP Endoplasmic Reticulum: Moves materials within the cell Vacuole: Store excess food and water Lysosomes: Breaks down waste products Nucleus: Directs of activities in the cell Chromatin: Located inside the Nucleus in “super coiled” form, contains DNA Ribosome’s: makes energy We have many possible solutions to ensure success. Theesfeld is working on the combination of the Two DNA’s Whilst Bacon works on an interstellar transportation Device by the name Of a Stargate to look for possible extra terrestrial life forms that match the Nekos we are looking to create.
