(uhm?? What? That made no sense to me... I need some more details than that, plus it seems to be a bit Munchy. Until you do I'm just going to divert this attack.)

The depth of the subs protects them from the majority of the EMP. The ocean's surface reflects most of the EM waves upwards and the refractive index of the water means that the waves that do enter it are bent and distorted so much that they never reach the subs. The EMP doesn't effect the island either, the waves simply can't penetrate the rock and tungsten carbide that surround the city.

(For those who think I just munched, think again. All of that is a simple application of physics. All of what I said is what would REALLY happen. An EMP contains electromagnetic radiation, like light. All that radiation WOULD reflect off the water, WOULD be bent and distorted by it, WOULDN'T be able to penetrate to the depth of the subs and WOULDN'T be able to penetrate hundreds of feet of solid rock and metal.)

((I don't know, but from what I can tell a kilometre long (Seriously, that's TOO long) barge just pulled up out of nowhere, pinged my subs then launched something to give off an EMP. It smacks of Munch because a) Something that size would have been detected as it approached, I was never given a chance. (Don't even think about giving me "Oh it was cloaked" You can't cloak something THAT big.) b) He never detected my subs, so how does he know that they are there?? and c)The barge is far too large to be practicle, how would you seriously move, steer and power something like that?? Really it's verging on an "Impenetrable Fortress"))
