Nope, the fire is in the kitchen, not the boat. 3nodding Last time I checked, at least...
We're definitely not going to trim his fur or anything. It'd be difficult and pointless. When it gets REALLY hot, the fur grows in shorter and slightly darker on his sides, but it rapidly restores to long-gray-and-fluffy as soon as the heat goes down.
He gets sleepy at random. ^^ So cute! And he will nuzzle your finger if you stick it in the cage because he is looking for raisins. He doesn't bite, though, 'cos he knows human flesh is not tasty.

Sometimes Buster growls angrily if you bother him when he's spending quality time with his rawhide. So I have to take it away until he's nice again. He's not allowed to be mean.

Pooh just hops around and hides in his boat if you try to take his food away from him. But, I mean, if you're taking away a raisin that is held in his mouth, you pretty much have to pull it out from his teeth, and he obviously isn't going to like that.
I always feel bad for bothering him, though, and then I give him another raisin to make up for it.

I wasn't trying to take the rawhide. I pat him on the head as I walked by and he let out a ferocious growl. It was completely uncalled for. crying

NaviF00L I wasn't trying to take the rawhide. I pat him on the head as I walked by and he let out a ferocious growl. It was completely uncalled for. crying How cranky! Our chinchilla is currently lying on his side, cooling his feet. So cute! ^^ If you walk up to him quietly and then make a noise, he jumps right up, as if he's been napping on the job and the boss walked in. *goes to pet Pooh's fluffy head*

I've had to steal his rawhide twice since then. v.v Shame on Buster. But then he's very friendly when I have it on top of the fridge cuz he knows if he's nice enough, he'll get it back. Then he gets it back and refuses to set it down and carries it around with him wherever he goes. ^.^

Sorta like Pooh with his raisins. It's so cute when animals get distrustful and decide to keep treasures possessions in the mouth! ^^
Now I wanna pet Buster. Give him a pet from me?

^^ He wagged his little clipped tail. It's so cute when he does that cuz it's just a tiny stub and he wags it really fast. whee *dies of a cuteness overdose*

Animals as pets? Oh dear, times certainly have changed... Why, I remember, back when I was a Real Turtle- oh, what a wonderfull time that was!- animals would be food, and they were happy about it! Not all of this wanting to be pets and such nonsense.

My sister really wanted to get a chinchilla once. We can't have pets because we move a lot. We once had dogs, (I was in the second grade), and we had to give them away. I cried buckets. j_j I did get mice some years later, and they died of old age. One of them seemed to have had a heart attack or something. I miss them.
If I could, I'd like to get a snake, they're so beautiful and majestic. But the rest of my family hates snakes. Plus I'd have a serious guilt complex because I love mice so much. Do you think snakes can live off shreds of chicken?
Or a cat. But I'd hate to give it away again...
