With all Kai’s sneezing it would seem like he’s coming down with something. Drinkables! don’t get sick...do they? He is looking a bit under the weather though, his liquid luke warm to the touch rather than slightly chilled as it usually is. Now that more of his drink is exposed it looks a bit watery and less milky as if it were not in optimal condition either.
Is something going around? Maybe it was something he ate?

Tsu was pacing, the sneezes were really getting to be noticable, and his skin was clammier than usual, not to mention a lot more pale than his normal milky sheen. Could this be the flu going around? Wait... no. He would have had a fever.
"You feeling hot at all Kai?" Tsu asked as he casually touched the kid's forehead. It wasn't really burning up... just not the healthy color as before.
"No... just feel a little tired and sneezy." Kai responded listlessly looking out the window. He felt a little stir crazy too... but that was mostly because Tsu was pacing. He didn't pace like this that often after all.
"You're not even hungry? Or bored?" Tsu looked at Kai in shock. Something must have been wrong if Kai wasn't complaining of being bored. For some odd reason he craved entertainment at all waking hours of the day.
"Ha ha. Funny. I am a little hungry, can you go get me something to eat?" Kai made pleading eyes.
"Well... I think I can get you something. No signs of a fever, so eating won't be a problem." Tsu said thinking up a great idea. Wasn't Kai partly yogurt? Maybe feeding him more yogurt would help with that milky appearance again. Worth a shot at least.
Looking through the refridgerator made Tsu realize exactly how poorly he maintained house. Box of baking soda to kill odors, Past date milk, Plenty of beer cans, and a couple eggs, plus a used bottle of salad dressing, a container of strawberry yogurt, and those skittles Kai had demanded. Time to go to the store.
"I'm gonna run to the store to get some food!!" Tsu hollered through the apartment. "Zave, look after your brother, but I shouldn't be long. NO SKITTLES EITHER." Tsu shouted as an afterthought. Almost as if he was reading his kid's mind these days.
Tsu wasn't lying when he said he was going to run to the store, or through it for that matter. Picking up the items such as plain yogurt for Kai, a couple other options in case the yogurt thing failed, and a sandwich for dinner, Tsu went running back to the apartment just as fast. By time he reached the door 13, Tsu was out of breath and covered in sweat.
"What took you so long?" teased in his best whining tone. It had maybe only been ten minutes at most. Not even enough time for Zave to locate the bag of skittles that Tsu had hid before heading out the door.
"So....rry... traff....ic..." Tsu managed to wheeze out. That's it, I'm cutting back on cigarettes. Maybe one carton a day instead of two... Tsu thought to himself as he handed the plain yogurt to Zave to hold onto while he spooned it into the other kid's mouth. Kai made faces at the taste, but at least it was something to eat.

A little TLC goes a long way and it shows. No longer looking watered down, the young Drinkable! seems to be recovering quickly and looking more robust than ever before! How long will it last though? Flu season IS just around the corner.

"Well... at least the clamminess and watery look about you seem to have subsided" Tsu breathed a sigh of relief after checking up again on Kai. It was odd how quickly the yogurt treatment seemed to have worked for the time being. "Although we really ought to just try and see if you're sick or not. I don't want to panic and just scrape by on a method of recovery each time you show some random new symptom. Especially not with all the viruses and bugs going around lately."
"Can't we just be happy that I don't feel sneezes anymore?" Kai asked tiredly. He still didn't have all his energy back to go on adventures, but at least he was starting to feel back to a shadow of his old form... maybe even a chance to be stronger... "I'd kinda like to watch a movie if it's alright. Maybe that Kung Fu Hustle or something you were talking about?"
Tsu couldn't help but hide a smile at this last request. It had been a while since they all sat down together to watch a movie... not to mention that Kai hadn't shown signs of remembering what Tsu had talked about before. "Sure... I can make some popcorn if you do feel hungry. It would be nice to watch a movie with all of you today anyway. Once you feel better we can go back out exploring. I'm running low on some supplies anyway."
"I'd like that..." Kai managed to smile sleepily as he snuggled down against the now wider lip of the bottle. "Although I don't know how much popcorn I can eat... not feeling too hungry yet..." Just as Kai was about to drift off, he did manage to have one more case of sneezes followed by hiccups. "Dangit!" was all he managed while Tsu gave one weary look back to his kid.
This is something that might not completely go away.... Tsu thought grimly as he tended to the bottle once more.

When Kai wakes in the morning he will find that he has made a full recovery, but with a curious addition. The mysterious pink mist has reemerged, but this time instead of being a separate entity it has simply turned all of Kai a very flamboyantly pink! Even his half of bottle is completely pink! Stranger yet, when either Kai or the bottle is touched it leaves a similar pink residue on all and anything, but never seems to come completely off the young Drinkable!. Let’s hope it doesn’t stain!

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" Kai's piercing shriek of absolute horror shattered the last dregs of hope for Tsu or Zavier to sleep in this morning. "TSUUUUUUUU!!!! ZAVEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Come quick and help me!!!!!" Kai's whines were as energetic as ever.
At least the coughing and hiccuping stopped Tsu thought to himself. Glad one crisis had been adverted... for the time being. What seems to be the matter now though? Turning the corner to Kai's room, Tsu nearly smashed face first into Zavier's back as the Raevan floated dead center in the doorway. "Oi. Watch where you're stopping Zave!" Tsu grumbled a little rubbing his nose and checking to make sure it was straight. His other kid might not have anything below the waist, but it didn't make him any less solid above there.... "What's the fuss about anyway?"
".... Look...." was all the Raevan could manage out as he pointed at his older brother's room. "...So odd. Never seen anything like that before."
Tsu followed the gaze of Zave into Kai's room, and more particularly, at Kai. From first glance, it just looked like Kai was a bit flushed about something, but a closer inspection showed that it wasn't embarassment that Kai was showing. Rather it was the glow coming back from outside the Drinkables! bar. A sort of neon pepto-bismol pink that no one could mistake. Tsu had to quickly bite his tongue from keeping from laughing. The pain would make a good mask of concern for his charge.
"I'm... I'm.... PINK!!!!!!" Kai wailed aloud. It's not that he minded pink all that much, but Kaze would have a field day with this if he ever saw what happened. "I can't go out and see people like this" Kai firmly decided. A little splash of the liquid seemed to punctuate the fact as the desk area pinked up the pink tinge before dissipating back into the air. It didn't seem to leave stains, but it was if the pink was spreading from Kai. Try as he might, he couldn't get this mist to disperse at all.
"I'll need to do some research on this to find out how we can get the pink glow off you." Tsu said absolutely perplexed on how to handle this new development short of testing... but he didn't want to hurt or frighten his kid. "Why don't you and Zavier watch a movie while I try and read up on some books that might help out with figuring what has happened to you."
"Okayyyyy...." Kai reluctantly agreed, "But hurry up... I'm bored in the apartment. I wanna go out... but not like this." It was nice to see Kai back to normal behaviour wise... but there was still a lot of things nagging in the back of Tsu's mind about what has been going on since Halloween. Maybe going out to Durem would shed some light into everything again. Grabbing his jacket, Tsu headed out of the apartment, leaving plenty of videos for the kids to watch on the computer. Who knew how long this would take after all?

As the day wears on the mist dissipates, but the pink color lingers. In fact the color on Kai looks a bit, thick. Similar to the build of a make-up cake, sloughing powder when brushed or moved. The powder does create a nice smooth finish to the complexion however. Maybe Kai powder will be the next ‘big thing’?

Tsu was still wandering the streets outside the bar where he found Kai, that also happened to be the location of the crazy halloween party. What was he looking for, besides the obvious cute girls? Well, even he wasn't sure. Maybe just something to let him know what the hell was going on with all these weird symptoms Kai was showing. There was nothing to tell him anything here however. Maybe it was more important he stay with his kid today. The tyke certainly would be bummed that he was alone with all of this.
"Maybe..." Tsu started musing aloud "...this is some sort of cry for attention?" He finished almost immediately dismissing it. I mean, it's not like Kai could have done this to himself on purpose. Right?

Zavier and Kai were just finishing up watching Corpse Bride when the door clicked shut and Tsu came wandering back into the living room area to check on what they were doing.
"Tsu! You came back!!!" A pink puff of powdery substance managed to choke out as it (seemed) to turn and face him. "I wanna go out, but I can't see when people move me...Zavier has tried, I tried... both with no luck."
As the powdery pink dust settled, Tsu noticed that Kai now appeared to be a deeper pink hue than any time before. The normally pasty skin of his charge has seemed to be caked in the powder that would seep into the air.
"Hmm... This gives me an idea" Tsu muttered as he picked up Kai and set him in front of the oscillating fan. "Aside from the fact that the powder looks caked on you... and makes you the same color as an eraser... your complexion is a lot better and you look more like myself or anyone else. If we can remove some of the excess, maybe you'll look a lot more natural and comfortable. You'll just need to bear with being in front of the fan for a bit." Tsu explained to Kai.
"I'll try..." Kai managed bravely. Fortunately the fan blew the powder away fast enough that he was coughing less, causing less powder to fly up into his face, and forcing the whole process to repeat.
"We'll go to the beach for some ice cream after this." Tsu promised. "You've really impressed me how much you've stuck this out. You obviously haven't been watching me for guidance on acting mature... where did you pick that up?" He marvelled to his drink of a kid.
Smiling slightly and sharing a secret wink with his little brother floating around not too far behind, Kai only replied,"It's a secret. I might let you know when you're older."

After some quality time in front of the fan the cloud of powder coming off the Drinkable! babe seems less. In fact, it seems like barely any is coming off him at all anymore. More or less just a residual amount. His skin is also less pink, as if the color has been shed with the exiting powder. His skin is left a strange matte finish with not gloss at all however. Better chalk-like in appearance than pink though right?

"Hmmm.... interesting..." Tsu mumbled to himself as he examined a now chalk like Kai's skin. "Some of the residual pink has actually coated onto your skin like a powder, turning you a more pale pinkish color, but it has also gotten rid of the glare you used to give off. Mark that up as a moral win on our side! Yay?"
Kai was slightly less amused by the whole situation. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. He was old enough to figure out that Tsu didn't know what the hell was happening and just trying to tackle each issue as it came up. Although it was a quick fix, Kai wanted something permanent. "Sure... at least the glare is gone and my skin looks more like a human..." he offered a little listlessly, "It can't really be called a victory unless we figure out what is going on though, right? Maybe we can try retracing our steps after I get some sleep. I'm feeling a little woozy again."
Tsu's mood deflated quickly. Not only had he been called out on the fake enthusiasm, but he had been hit on the fact that he still had no idea what the symptoms were indicating. "Alright, we'll all go to Durem after you get some rest. Maybe we'll run into someone there that can help us remember what happened that night. It's been a while so it's starting to get hazy again."
With a tense air about the room, Kai was carried off by Zavier to go get some rest while Tsu sat at his desk writing down the different symptoms and tried to puzzle out a solution. If he could only do quick fixes to the process, then he was useless as well. As his first kid turned more towards a "mature human" - whatever that really meant - he was just sitting helpless to watch. This thought stung a little as he set the pen down on the desk to drink some water and get a little fresh air.

"Odd..." Tsu thought to himself, "I don't remember ever owning a television. Much less paying enough attention to the advertisements." Ahh how semantics could easily distract from the issue at hand. The real question would be shot over to Zavier. "Hey Zave! Did you happen to catch that number just now?"
"What?" The raevan came over looking like he was reaching the end of a rope. "I'm over in the other room taking care of YOUR other little brother, and you ask me if I'M watching television? How would I be in two places at once? However leave me out of these situations." Huffing out, Zavier left Tsu in a stupor.
Luckily this Uncle Al seemed to have all the bases covered. Including the annoying fly aways found in one of Tsu's magazines. Finally an easy way out! Tsu was all for picking up the phone and calling in a couple orders, when he stopped mid dial. Maybe Kai wasn't sick. Maybe it would be better to work hard and endure through all these trials with his kid instead of looking for a quick fix every time. Hanging up the phone again, Tsu walked over to Kai's bedroom.
"Hey kiddo... I know I haven't really been around much while you've been stuck in the house bored out of your mind or any other time for that matter. It may be a little late, but I wanted you to have at that party, so I went. Who knew it would turn out like this huh? Anyway, I heard about this elixir that would 'cure all' and seems to cover a wide variety of symptoms. It might even 'cure' your symptoms as well from that last pinkness. It's up to you and I'll support your decision either way. Stick it out and work through this together, or else give you the elixir and go back to whatever side of normal our family was put together?"
Kai looked groggily at his "big brother" and smiled a little weakly. It seemed like that was something he had been waiting for. "It's about time you've given me a say in my own life. I want to stick it out... although these are a little... annoying, I don't feel like I need to be fixed. I just need you to stop and pay attention to us. I don't just mean me... pay attention to Zavier too. Let us grow up and learn from actions and playing around outside. It'll be much more pleasant around here I can tell you now."
Tsu looked rather taken aback by the parenting advice handed to him... from his own charge. With a sheepish look in his face Tsu agreed. "Alright, we'll go out to the beach and have some fun. Once you feel a little more awake that is."
Kai managed a sleepy cheer before once again closing his eyes and resting against the side of his new wider container.

In the morning Kai is only minimally pink and all seems to be shaping up nicely. By the end of the day his color is completely back to normal. Crisis averted. For now?

"Seriously, hurry up you two!" Tsu called out in a slightly agitated voice, "The tides gonna be coming in soon and we won't find the spot!" There was some question as to why Tsu was in such a hurry to get to the beach. The spot they frequented was only known by a handful of locals even, but the tide coming in meant spots there were going to be severely limited. Since it was winter, most of the bikini clad babes would be gone too. This was for Zavier and Kai after all.
"I'm ready!" Kai called from down the hall. The pinkness had faded away over the course of the night, and Tsu had managed to feed him some more yogurt in hopes that the matte finish would go away to no avail. "Can someone come and get me then?"
"I'm coming... I'm coming..." Tsu hollered back. "Zavier, are you almost ready to go too? The winds are starting to pick up, might be nice down there." Although the words "nice" were really relative... it might put Zavier in a better mood. He always enjoyed a good storm.
"Can I catch up with you? I know my way there now." Ever since Tsu had gotten the kids a copy of the key, Zavier was obsessed about being able to lock up the apartment and make his own way about places.
"Okay, but don't take too long. I'll try and snag a spot for you too." Tsu said eyeing the frei carefully. This was supposed to be a family outing. Especially since Kai had been feeling better, this was the best time to go.

"I want ice cream!!" Kai declared promptly after the blankets had been flopped down to claim their prime location. Under the tree they always set as a meeting location. Tsu eyed the kid with disbelief.
"Really? We're in the middle of winter though. Aren't you cold?" He had been bundled up and still the wind cut through his jacket, but the kid seemed fine.
"I want ice cream. If that's alright with you? Strawberry please?" Kai tried changing his tactics. No point arguing though once he made up his mind.
"Alright, alright. Strawberry. Wait here, I'll grab a kid's cone. Keep an eye out for Zavier, okay?" Tsu finally sighed. Surely leaving his kid alone for all of two minutes would be okay... right?

While Tsu is away trouble will play. With a strong gust of wind some pink powder is kicked up from an unknown source and causes Kai to cough. Once the haze clears his hands will feel a bit slimy and sticky, as if he had already been eating ice cream and had unceremoniously stuck his hands in it. Runny noses is one thing, but runny hands?
