"It was just laying there," shouts the first boy, eyes showing white all the way around as he stares at the dismembered limb. "Like it wasn't even a thing! What if there's a ********' body somewhere, holy ********, what if she's dead?" The second boy is still gagging about the existence of a severed foot.

Chel just let him yell. Sometimes you need to yell and get things out of your system. Maybe he was just that kind of kid.
"Naw you don't gotta worry about that none man. That's what the police's doin'. You just gotta worry about yerself. You guys got names?" And she continued to rub the back of the gagging kid. If he was going to puke again it certainly wouldn't be the first time she'd gotten puked on.

Well Chel was being somewhat helpful for once it seemed. He shouldn't have to worry too much about any of them messing with the area around the foot, but he was going to try and keep tabs on them just in case. For now, though, he made his way back towards the severed foot, observing the area around it once more. He checked for trails of blood or for signs that something or something had been dragged across the ground within the vicinity. For that matter, he also tried to determine if it was possible that the foot had dropped from the cliffs. For that matter, he tried to see how fresh the foot looked, from the bits of flesh that were sticking out. Unfortunately, it was probably too difficult to determine the nature of the wound without picking the foot up; something he wasn't about to do right now. All in all, he was trying to get as many details in the immediate area, not wanting to stray or add more tracks around the foot before others arrived to the scene.

There's no blood trail, nothing dragged nearby. It's simply been dropped, like it's so much litter.
The blood is fresh.

"He's Ed," says the shouty kid, focusing in on Chel a bit. "And I'm Brit."
"Short for Britney." Shouty gives a dark look at Pukey, but it's like, a bro look. They are trauma-bonded for life.

Shun furrowed his brow at what he was able to pick up on. Wound looked fresh, but there was no trail. No signs of struggle in the immediate vicinity. If it had been dropped from a greater height, there should have been more splatter too for that matter. "The ********> he muttered under his breath. This wasn't adding up. It was as if the foot had spawned in the middle of nowhere, but that wasn't possible.
"You two did not see anyone or anything else in the area before stumbling upon this?" he asked, shooting the question back towards the kids.

"Cool cool. I'm Chel and the scary lookin' one is Shun. I promise he don't got fangs or nothin'. Would be cool f'he did though ..." As she rambled she at least noticed that Shun didn't seem to find anything noteworthy, or if he did he didn't let on. Then her eyes ran over the foot again and the same shiver ran down her back.
She quickly looked back at the kids and said, "What he means t'say is did you guys see anythin' before the creepy foot? Like ... vampires or bears or somethin'? 'Cause it'd help us kick more a** f'we knew." She wiggled her fingers very menacingly.
Too spooky.

"Nah man, nothing," says Brit, "It was just layin' out like that when we got here."
Ed says, "Seriously. Who the ******** would just like, oops, s**t man, dropped my <******** murderfoot--"
Brit still looks green.

Shun stared at Chel for a moment, "Do not put that s**t in their heads."Vampires. Rubbing his head, he cast a glance back to the foot. Who or whatever had dropped it there may not be too far off still, even if the kids didn't spot anyone prior. But he wasn't about to leave it unattended to go do a wider search. "It should not be much longer before the others arrive."

Chel stuck her tongue out at Shun. She was doing a hell of a lot better than he had with the kids. He'd gotten one to puke.
She snickered at Ed's joke; it was funny in hindsight. "Well that's a shitty day," Chel responded to the kids. Go for a walk on the beach, find a foot. "It'll make a good story at least yeah? That one summer I found a foot on the beach."
She gave them a smile. "You guys got someone I could call? A friend or yer mom or whatever? F'not we can take you home after too."

Jeremiah was coming up along the path, a pair of gloves already being pulled onto his hands just in case. His eyes glanced towards the sergeant with a nod and then towards the young woman with the other two teens. "These three found it, Sergeant? Can you start taking statements?" he asked as he was making a path around the foot. The detective lieutenant had long thin stakes in his hand that he was putting down to cordoned off the foot with police tape. Once that was done, he was sliding the police tape into the pocket of his jacket - was Sunny around? probably - and slipping underneath it to look at the foot. It was ... Jeremiah was pulling his phone out instead of his radio. He waited for it to pick up. His face was impressive, blue-green eyes flinty and hard. "Doctor Townhome? I'd like you to come out with the forensic crew that is likely on their way out. It looks like we've found the foot of Heliodora Winters." cibarium expect a text as well from jeremiah as well. i don't know what happened. sunny may be around, so please be careful of where you look.

Before Jeremiah hung up his phone, he would hear the first few syllables of what became a very long string of swears, and asyllabic groaning noises, and floorboards creaking as she heavily paced about her home while getting her exasperated a** dressed so she could drive out to the beach and deal with that <******** foot, AGAIN. It took a lot to make her quite so livid, but enough had happened over the past couple of weeks -- and then some. She'd gotten eaten alive in the Otherworld. She couldn't go twenty minutes out in public without stopping a complete stranger and giving them random advice that made no goddamn sense. Her wife was developing into some kind of werecanine. And now that foot had come back from the dead Heliodora wanted her parents to believe she was, taunting her and Jeremiah with its irrevocably public presence. It was a good fifteen minutes before she arrived, a little calmed down but still plenty ******** annoyed enough for it to show clearly on her face. "Hey, Detective," she greeted, then turned to Shun, "and... new detective. Welcome to Trashdown, by the way. Don't eat those leftovers you got in the fridge." She then moved her eyes to the ground, fixing on the foot, so they could stay there and not intersect with any more faces unless someone was trying.

Shun lifted his head as Jeremiah came onto the scene, ready for work. He nodded once to the senior detective before letting out a breath. "Already started, sir. They have not seen much of anything, unfortunately," he started before grumbling, "But for the sake of formalities..."Always with the damn formalities. He dug around his bag and took out a tablet. After fiddling around with it, he trudged on over to Ed and Brit. "One more time... recount how you came across the foot. Once I have this down, you will be free to go. Chel. That goes for you as well."After saying this, he tilted his head as one of the forensics personnel had arrived onto the scene. Trashtown? And what the hell was wrong with the fridge? She wasn't going to leave that thing in there was she? The thought was thoroughly unpleasant. Glancing back at Jeremiah and Leila, he said, "The 'psychic' that lives on top of the cliffs may know more about this. Once I am done gathering these statements, do you want me to find her? She cannot have gotten too far."

Jeremiah had to lean his head slightly away from the phone before he hung up. Arguably he was in the same boat but he was keeping it carefully contained otherwise he would have an entirely different reaction to what was going on. The silver-haired officer was standing up and staring hard at the sergeant. "If you have already started notation on the statements please state as such, Sergeant Kuroda. However, as I will have to be talking to Miss Winters family about their possibly deceased daughter, I would greatly prefer if we do follow formalities and procedure exactly. Now matter how tedious you may view them to be. Your report, with the statements, will be expected on my desk in a timely manner." He gave Leila a nod when she arrived, not surprised at all to see that look on Leila's face. It was definitely that kind of day (but that she had been pushed to it said so much about what they had been through). There was a brief twitch of his lip at Trashdown but it was carefully hidden back away behind a neutral expression. If anything, for the moment he was actually making a point to try and keep himself other people out of her line of sight. For all that it would help. "I'll keep an eye out," he murmured to her quietly. Then a bit louder. "Let me know what I can do to assist you, Doctor Townhome, until the rest of the crew arrives." The detective lieutenant glanced towards Kuroda once more. At the mention of Sunny his eyes went dark. The bitter ache was back. "I'll take that statement myself, Sergeant, I'm well aware of how to find her."

"Ooh now it's a party," Chel commented, currently holding the two kids by the shoulder.
Her lax demeanor hid a sort of itchy discomfort. Three cops being serious cops was a few cops too many. She could handle it when it was just Shun- that was a friend, a person she knew. Three cops made her feel like an insect under a microscope.
Shun rather sternly demanded information out of them and Chel said, "Now hold on. Don't be dicks. They're jus' kids man." Kids that deserved to be treated better than crime scene props. She put a hand on pukey's head and calmly combed through his hair. "Be nice t'them." shibrogane so many people to quote now
