Victor watched as Alexandria and Ignazio went on their separate ways. He kept his hands in his pockets as he wondered where it was that Alexandria was off too. He wouldn't follow her for he knew when to give people their space. Ignazio looked like he was headed back into the Hall. It wouldn't be long before the ceremony would be starting but his hunger was getting the best of him now. Victor could feel his stomach growling as he put his hand over his abdomen. Do I have enough time to run out and get some chow? Victor contemplated as he started to make his way back into the Great Hall. It was really starting to fill out now and he was sure the ceremony would be long and boring. He then spotted some students with their own fast food breakfast. Wasting no time, Victor found an empty seat next to the two guys. They were not part of the cram school but looked fit. They gave off that football star look if had ever seen it. Victor could see an egg and bacon bagel along with pancakes and hashbrowns. An american breakfast. "You know, those pancakes can be real fattening, not something an athlete would eat." Victor said, his arms crossed. The two players looked to Victor with disgust. They shared some profanity with him then proceeded to eat. "How about we make a bet? I wager that I can catch any throw you can dish out and if I can't, I pay you two hundred dollars. You guys are Americans, right? But if I win, I get to take your girlfriends on a date." The two guys were proud and couldn't turn down a wager that would embarrass them to refuse.
Driven to prove Victor wrong they stood up and headed out to the track. Victor stood up and eyed the food and quickly took the bagel sandwich for himself. It hit the spot and Victor's expression became one of relief. He then went to sit back in at his House's table. It was more populated now but Victor simply put his arms behind his head and kicked up his feet. The only worry on his mind was the time of when they would bring out the refreshments.

Tavion stood facing the Great Hall doors preparing himself to enter, a lump welling up in his throat. To be completely honest, he was exceptionally nervous about it now. So much that he wanted to turn around and head for the hills. But he couldn't do that. He was the Headmaster. The governing head of this school and it's secret society as well. Most of them hadn't seen him before either, he was a new face to all, students and those exorcists disguised as students as well. Tabula Rasa; it was a clean slate here.

Headmaster Vega pushed open the doors to the Great Hall and it had opened up to what he dubbed, a glorified cafeteria. He chuckled to himself lightly at the thought. Many people were here. The cafe staff, students and teachers. It began to fill out, teachers took their spots at the helm while the students at the body of the tables.

Tavion stepped forth and began to say hello to students he passed. He chose this way rather than the back entrance so he can get a feel for the students before they all realized he was their headmaster. Quite a devious plan if he could say so himself. He began to get looks and could hear students asking amongst themselves who he was and if he was a student here. He looked about that age to tell you the truth. His snow white hair seemed to always get him attention, without fail, wherever he went. He got near the tops of tables, dashing a look to noticeable Exwires such as Ignazio Bathomeloi of House Rajaion, a pompous aristocrat and Victor Asturias of House Kurthnaga, a slick boy who seemed to scheme when women were in the picture. He was briefed on all of the Exorcist that were attending True Cross but he was told to keep a watchful eye on those two and a girl whom he hadn't seen yet.

Tavion made his way past those students, eyes loomed over them for the passing moments, to the bar inconspicuously to get a quick drink. He needed something to calm his nerves momentarily and to give him the strength to want to speak up in front of ALL of these people. He sat momentarily to order two shots of VSOP Courvoisier. "On the rocks." Came out of his mouth, the bartender would know what that meant. It was early to be drinking any kind of alcohol, but it was 5 o clock somewhere. The bartender put two glasses infront of him each with ice in them and filled the glass with brownish red liquid until it was just over the ice. Tavion quickly put both of them back, the drink burning his throat as it went down. A scrunched face came next to combat the feeling. The Headmaster would be ready for anything in ten minutes...

Doctor || Knight || Exwire

              Alexandria entered the entrance hall not terribly long after their new headmaster had entered the Great Hall. She’d gotten a quick glance of him just before he opened the doors. He held authority to him- yet he seemed not terribly older than the rest of them. ‘I wonder who that may be.’ She thought idly as she slid off her coat- lightly brushing off the snow which had collected on it during her walk back towards the Academy. Holding the coat over her arm she slowly walked towards the doors to the great hall- remembering then she’d forgotten to wear her ribbon. The red ribbon lay at the bottom of her leather bag. Quickly she opened and reached inside blind fingers fumbling around till she finally found the smooth red silk ribbon. It took only a few moments to tie it around the collar of her black dress shirt- she was careful to tie it straight. After she had finished putting herself together she entered the Great Hall.

              Alexandria walked quickly towards her house table- she’d seen the other two men she’d met previously at their own tables. Hardly surprised by what company they kept around them. The other man she had seen prior to entering the hall was some distance away- but his light hair made him stick out from the crowd. Alexandria looked back to her own table. She too had a few friends of her own in the house of Almedha, she pulled a chair towards them. Most were from a mid to low upper class and they chatted excitedly to one another- quickly greeting her as she joined them. Alexandria didn't speak much to them other than expressing having had a pleasant break back home. She took out her phone and pulled up pictures of home- of the grand palaces and castles, gardens, views of the city, markets and other things they had asked the previous year. Passing it to one of them, it dawned on her then that perhaps it wasn't so surprising she might have heard a stray rumor about Victor. The girls she kept a façade of friendship knew about some of the rumors at True Cross. She closed her eyes a moment- ‘Can’t be too long now.’ Alexandria thought as she looked back to the small group, giving them one of her fake- but warming smiles. The last girl had looked through them all and thanked her, handing back her phone. Alexandria nodded her head as she quickly placed it back into her leather bag and placed both it and her charcoal colored coat on the back of her chair.

The sound of familiar footsteps echoed through his head as it became one with his heart. Ignazio heard the room turn into a silent uproar when the Headmaster entered, if anyone was more popular at the academy other than himself, it would be the newly appointed young Headmaster of True Cross Academy. Ignazio watched as the man made his way over to the bar, the level of respect he had for the man dropped even more. Glancing down at his watch Ignazio noted the time and sighed. ”It’s not even noon yet, seriously you’re going to give a speech wasted. Unprofessional” he muttered as he went back to his conversation among the other members of his house and listened to the others complain about their classes that they were registered for and how they didn’t want to take things like chemistry or advance theory of medicine. He just shook his head and thought about his classes and then thought about his cram school classes. A shiver went down his spine as he turned his head slight to glance over his shoulder and looked at the back of the headmaster. ”How the hell did he become a rank right under Paladin…he doesn’t even look like he’s strong. I mean no skills from this point of view, and not to mention poisoning your body, he can’t be a fighter. Tsk. The people here really piss me off” Ignazio began to bite the nail on his right thumb without consciously noticing until someone asked him if something was wrong. Noticing his thumb near his mouth he removed it and smiled ”No, I’m okay. Please ignore me. I’m just nervous for the advance classes I have to take this year. That’s all. They are pretty tough from what I heard the teachers aren’t the nicest either.” he lied before turning and looking at the cloth along the table top.

Victor was trying to catch up on some sleep to no avail when he noticed someone come in. Apparently, he was well known since many of the students nearby greeted him with a friendly greeting or respect. His hair was like Ignazio's, except more snow like and less silver. He could see from where he was sitting that the man was hard built, toned through resistance and endurance training alike. Victor knew that the man was either a martial artist or an acrobat telling by the specific set of muscles he had focused on toning. If he had to guess, the man was either something like a class representative or a teacher. He wasn't much older than Victor or at least looked it. Victor removed his arms from behind his head and set them on his stomach, balancing his chair backwards on two legs. "Hey, who's that guy?" Victor asked one of the students beside him, interrupting his conversation. "Huh? Oh, him? That's Mr. Vega. He's the new Headmaster. He's supposed to be some missionary out of Spain. Very decorated." Victor nodded as he watched the man head to the bar. Victor smiled at the sight. And looks like he knows how to chill out, too. He thought. Maybe he's not as square as most of these Headmaster's turn out to be. Someone caught his eye, sitting at one of the other tables. It was Alexandria. She looked happy, sharing and conversing with those of her House. Victor silently hoped that he hadn't scared her away permanently, she was still interesting and even more interesting to look at. She might have caught Victor staring at her from across the Hall but Victor would only smile in response.

A sigh escaped Tavion's lips as he reached into his pocket to pull out a wad of cash placing one of the larger bills on the counter. He gave the bartender a wink and they returned with a nod. They knew it was time. 8:00 AM exactly. He walked towards the center of the room in front of the table situation at the head. He clapped his hands twice fairly loudly and cleared his throat. "Ladies and Gentleman...!" He waited for the room to quiet down before continuing. He would not make his speech sitting on a throne are anything that signified him being on higher standing than the rest. That was just the type of person he was. "Welcome to True Cross Academy. I am your new Headmaster Tavion Vega. It is a great pleasure to be here today and to participate in the opening ceremony. I thank you for being here to share this important moment with myself and the staff of this academy. It is an occasion of great significance in many ways." He paused momentarily to catch his breath and gather himself once more. Most of this speech was coming off of the top of his head.

The Headmaster walked to the center of the room between two of the tables as he continued his speech. "It is significant because of the cooperation many organizations and individuals who have made the establishment of the school possible. The aspirations of the True Cross Education Services for what this school will achieve for its faculty and staff and above all for its students and their parents in the years ahead is perhaps the most important dimension." The young man paused again as he continued to walk down the aisle.

Tavion stopped as he reached where the third and last of the students he was supposed to be watching was, Alexandria Ferdinand of House Almedha. He glanced down at her for only a split second while he continued to speak. "I am sure that all of you here today will agree that we live in a time of rapid change -- change that is often not predictable, and not always positive. The best way to manage change, whether positive or negative, is to anticipate it and prepare for it. I have come to the conclusion that there is no greater form of preparation for change than education. I also think that there is no better investment that the individual, parents, and the nation of Japan can make than an investment in education of the highest possible quality." He gave a slight smile to her and her table before continuing on, making his way to another aisle. He didn't need to stay in one spot. His voice was loud and booming, easily heard from the outside, even without a microphone.

A few paces more and he stooped at Victor's part of the table and gave him a nod with his eyes only. "However!" Putting much emphasis on the word. "Education comes in many forms, and has been used for many purposes. An education for success in the modern world must be enabling and it must be outward looking. It must not only teach the time tested skills of reading, writing, and mathematics, which remain important, but the ability to use communication and information technology is now a critical part of the learning, as well as an essential qualification for eventual application in the workplace." Tavion's voice was well poised and well spoken. He never fumbled over his words taking care of his choice of words.

"But even this is not enough. There are two more dimensions of education for the modern world about which I would like to make a few remarks. The first relates to inquisitiveness, critical thinking, and problem solving. What students know is no longer the most important measure of the quality of education. The true test is the ability to engage with what they do not know, and to work out a solution. The second dimension involves the ability to reach conclusions that constitutes the basis for informed judgements. The ability to make judgements that are grounded in solid information, and employ careful analysis should be one of the most important goals for any educational endeavour. As students develop this capacity, they can begin to grapple with the most important and difficult step: to learn to place such judgements in an ethical framework. Therein lies the formation of the kind of social consciousness that our world so desperately needs." He spoke as he paced down the aisle almost to the door and back but this time coming up the aisle near Ignazio, narrowing his eyes at him as he approached. He stopped only for a moment though continuing around making his way back to the front, at the helm of all of the students tables.

The Headmaster opened his arms, palms skyward as he stopped to face all of the students at once. "I hasten to add that these capacities cannot be developed quickly, nor can they be mastered at the high school level. But a beginning must be made, and starting this process should be part of the mission of this institution." He added on. This was basically the end of his speech. It was very long and drawn out but necessary to do. Tavion hated speaking just as much a the students hated listening to the boring speech. "In closing I would like to extend a personal congratulations to our Freshman students for being accepted at our prestigious academy and for those who have advanced in grade level. This Academy has been apart of the community world wide for a thousand years and I hope that it will continue to be as such." He stopped to view all of their expression of thankfulness that the speech was finally over. He smiled, not because it was something customary to do after a speech but because all of their expressions were the same. It was amusing. "Thank you." Tavion concluded with a bow, the students and teachers giving him a round of applause as he went to sit in the chair designated for him solely.

Alexandria Elaine Ferdinand

Doctor || Knight || Exwire

              Just before she turned back towards these friends she had, she caught Victor’s gaze. Returning his smile, Alexandria turned back to classmates; now gossiping about some of the attractive men at the Academy. They spoke excitedly- one spoke about Ignazio as if he were God’s gift to the green earth. Alexandria couldn’t help but roll her eyes; ‘I don’t believe he’d give you the time of day!’ She thought as she chuckled at the prospect. Ignazio wasn’t the only fair haired man they spoke about; they’d brought up Mr. Vega in similar mannerisms.”Tavion? Who is that?”Alexandria asked, only to receive some shocked looks from a few of the other girls. They didn’t speak as if to draw his attention but shot a look in the general direction of the bar. It was the fair haired man she’d seen only some minutes before.”Oh.. I see~”She said faking the same excitement they held.

              It wasn’t too long after Alexandria learned his name that this Headmaster would introduce himself to the masses. Her table quieted almost immediately as he began his speech. She quietly observed him as he began to walk between the tables- towards her own. It wasn’t long before he reached her table; he’d given her a quick glance while he spoke. Tavion spoke of change- and its many forms. He finished this portion of the speech with a brief smile- to her, perhaps to the table. Her friends gave each other excited looks- ‘Getty like school children.’ She thought as she observed them for a moment. Alexandria couldn’t help feel as if the new Headmaster would be watching her as the year continued. She wasn’t sure if it were a good thing or not.

              Alexandria returned her gaze to the Headmaster as he continued his stroll between the isles of tables- it was quite a long speech. After a while he concluded- thanking the students for listening. He’d made an impression. Most would take their stage as one above the masses- as a sign of superiority. He had done the opposite. It was intriguing since he must have been something special to be Headmaster at such a young age. Alexandria dwelled on these things as she clapped her hands for him, out of respect.

Ignazio watched as everyone clapped their hands as the Headmaster finished his speech, the young aristocrat sighed and watched as the refreshments were beginning to be served, due to the fact most of the children and young adults that went to True Cross Academy were well off, the food was always the highest grade and cost more than a low ranking exorcist could afford on their salary. Looking at the food being wheeled out only made Ignazio sigh even harder ’Another meal to appease those who will never be able to afford lunch here again. How interesting, let’s see what style of breakfast do I even want to eat today. I guess I can do a traditional American breakfast at least I’ll get full that way, but it’s so fattening I’d rather not have to work out for an extra hour.’ As Ignazio was in deep thought one of the staff members tapped him on the shoulder as the cart reached him asking what would he like to eat. Turning around with a large smile he tilted his head to the left slightly before saying ”Anything will do as long as you’re the one bringing it to me. I thank you for all your hard work. I’m really not all worth the trouble.”

The man blushed slightly and then the table was filled with fan girls and a few boys screaming over what Ignazio said, he felt a little embarrassed and then pointed at random and began to speak in Italian ”Cappuccino, prima colazione.” the man quickly grabbed the perfectly designed plate that was just a few sliced pieces of bread and rolls with butter and jam. An extra piece was added to the plate called fette biscottate, which is a cookie-like bread. Ignazio waved and grabbed a knife from the table and placed it into the jam and began to wave it over the top layer of his first piece of bread. Ignazio chose to eat light in the morning but usually after classes he ate a lot, aside from all the lunch boxes he got from the Japanese students he always ate his own food in his room or with the rest of his House. ”I was thinking when we have our first house meeting we should actually talk about our spring break trip this year. I’m thinking we should go abroad or an island.” He said to his brothers and sisters of House Rajaion. The table began to be filled with all kinds of conversation about traveling and what there was to do in different locations. Ignazio sat and listened while he ate his food, until his cappuccino was brought out to him with extra whipped cream on top. He smiled and thanked the young lady who came out to bring him the cup. Raising the saucer and the cup at the same time he took a sip from the cup and then placed it down. Grabbing his napkin he dabbed the foam from his lips and then looked back at the Headmaster and quickly turned his head away attempting to avoid eye contact.

Victor was actively, looking about the hall when he saw their Headmaster walk into the center of them all. He expected the man to stand up with the rest of the staff but he decided to be amongst the students. It was more engaging and kept the attention of his audience. His name was Vega, clearly of Hispanic origin perhaps from Spain itself. Victor had seen it before and it was the way he would address a large mass. At one point, Tavion came close to his end of the table and looked right at him. At that moment, Victor nodded with what he was saying to show that he was indeed listening. What was a well spoken yet drawn out speech, came to a settling close. Victor didn't clap with the rest of the crowd simply because he didn't feel like it. The moment the doors to the kitchen had opened and the waiters had come out to the floor, Victor perked up. He tried to see above the other students to catch a glimpse at what they might be bringing out. Waiters where bringing around very expensive dishes and beverages both for drinkers and non alike. When the waiter came around to Victor's side, he began to point out everything that looked appetizing. Usually anything meaty or sweet. Taking up a bottle of something well over twenty years old, he began to feast. Some of the students stared at him in horror as he devoured the food most primitively but Victor was enjoying himself too much to care.

Tavion enjoyed the bustling of the students as they resumed their hearty conversations about various subjects. Parties, school work and other more intimate ideas. A small smile came about his lips as he sat in the chair designated specifically for him looking over the students while they talked. Tavion had scanned over and the three students that he had stopped near watching what they would do, to see how they interacted with their other classmates and Exorcists unknowingly.

Alexandria was very good putting up a facade. The same with Ignazio but his skill in the field was far superior than hers. He had to fool an entire troupe into thinking that he liked them for the face of the Barthomeloi's while Alexandria did so for herself. There was more at stake on Ignazio than her too.

Tavion had caught a glimpse of Ignazio looking back at him giving him quite the stare while the Headmaster returned a pleasant smile to him, which probably embarrassed him making him turn back to his peers. A chuckle escaped his lips before a yawn struck him. He wiped the tears from his eyes while they were closed, setting them on Victor, a Spanish national like himself. Victor was definitely a fighter at heart. He had the body type for it and the specific muscles that were noticeable even through his school uniform, revealed so too. It would be fun to see if he followed down the path that Tavion did. Maybe the Headmaster could teach the young man or two.

He snapped out of his trance as a server placed a ten stack of wheat pancakes, twelve egg whites, and an oven-baked chicken breast with a side of turkey sausage. For a beverage, a large triple chocolate protein shake would suffice. The young Headmasters eyes lit up. He was glad he took this job, he would be able to pack of pounds and pounds of lean muscle, for no extra cost. He rubbed his hands together in preparation to dig in...

              Not terribly long after the Headmaster’s speech waiters and waitresses seemed to appear. Some carried great platters of food or drink; others seemed to be coming to tables to take orders. True Cross Academy’s chiefs were supposed to have an amazing culinary skill- perhaps best in the world. One such waiter approached her table; she waited patiently as other orders were made. The waiter nodded his head to her asking what she would like to eat; he had a distinctly French accent to his English. Every different from her own accent- distinctly higher pitch than a typical German speaker’s accent. ” Palatschinke, it’s similar to a Crêpe.. I’d like spinach and cheese on it.” Alexandria told him, the waiter nodded his head in understanding. He asked her what she would like to drink and she simply told him water. With the orders taken he disappeared towards the kitchen.

              Alexandria’s friends began conversation about courses- the semester looked like it would be a challenge. For all of them. In truth, only two of the five others trained to become an exorcist. Between the three they lied about taking certain classes. One stated she was an English major- to one day be the next Shakespeare or something utterly ridiculous like that. The other stated she studied some topic that was so boring whatever it was began a lost memory. Alexandria simply told them she was beginning pre-medical studies, training to become a Doctor. Which, wasn’t too far from the truth.
              ”I’ll be beginning clinical rotations- so I can’t be sure when I’ll have the time to have lunch with you all…” She said to them, a distinctly sad tone to her voice. It just might have seemed heart felt, a frown coming to her face. Shortly after the waiter returned bringing their breakfasts. Alexandria noticed they’d used French Crêpes for her Palatschinke. ‘I suppose I shouldn’t have expected too much different’ She thought. Placing her napkin over her lap she began to eat one of her two Palatschinke crêpes with fork and knife.

It hadn't been long since Victor began to indulge himself but he was already nearing his fill. As he lifted a cup of drink, he noticed two men come in from the main doors. Victor recognized them as the two athletes he had tricked before the ceremony. Trying to hide his face, Victor tilted his head back as he drank but the two had already spotted him, easily picking him out from the rest of the students around him. They began to make their way through the crowd, clearly upset and knocking over a rather busy waiter in the process. Knowing what was coming, Victor pulled close a bottle and took a good chug. By then, the two rough looking individuals were at his sides. "That that was funny, did you?" One of them said. "I hadn't thought of you as such a coward as to bail on your bet!" The other one chimed. "I guess that means we win by default, doesn't it, Johnny?" The dark haired brute said to the light haired counterpart. Their intent was plain on their faces. Victor smiled to himself as he poured himself a glass of wine he had scored from a roaming waiter. "You know, I would have followed you but I think I had too much to drink." Victor held up the glass. "I don't think I have the strength to get out of this chair." He said before putting the glass to his lips in order to take a sip. His free hand sat on the arm rest. Prodding the pride of the two men, Victor felt hands take grip of his coat. At that moment, Victor glanced beside him and his index finger on his resting hand twitched. A second passed and still they gripped Victor's coat. The men looked surprised as they struggled to try and lift Victor. Everything above their wrists seemed to working at full capacity, drawing sweat to the men's brows. "What is this guy glued to the chair?" One of them said. The other exclaimed right after him. "He weighs a ton!" If one was at the right angle, a slight shimmering could be seen at the wrists of the men as if light refracted through the surface of water. After a second or two, the men fell back as their resistance was suddenly unopposed. They crashed into another house's table behind Victor, effectively pissing off some of their girls. "Thanks for the help, guys. I was leaving anyway." Victor said as he stood to his feet. He saw one of the men wiping whipped cream from his cheek, confused but still quite angry. Victor combed through his hair and headed for the doors. He glanced at Alexandria before he left, his expression unfathomable. He wasn't to go too far but he had enough of the crowd and longed for sometime alone, and a smoke of course.

Ignazio heard the uproar coming from a few tables away, he didn’t turn his head or even bother to acknowledge it. The young meister sat there and finished his meal before pushing away from the table and excusing himself. As he was getting ready to leave the other members of the House asked him where he was going he just smiled and waved. ”Sorry, I have to still unpack, I really should have done this a while ago.” he said before waving goodbye and walking off. Ignazio kept his head up high as he thought about what the ‘Holy’ ruler of the Academy was doing allowing some student to drink and then he had the nerve to drink in front of minors. ”What was he thinking? Talk about setting a bad example.” Ignazio thought to himself as he pushed the east quarter doors open to the hall and left the Great Hall and entered the hallway before strutting off for his room.

              The day had begun to dim through the Great Hall’s grand arched windows. Changing colors from a dulled cloudy grey to an inky darkness- it was still cloudy and appeared to be snowing still. There was some commotion behind her as she glanced back to see someone being thrown into one of the tables behind her. Alexandria hadn’t recognized the boy as she didn’t particularly care to find out who it may have been.”It has been great talking to you all, but I’m afraid I’ve some things to sort out before classes start tomorrow~”Alexandria said to her table as she began to sit up from her chair, pulling her charcoal coat over her. After zipping her coat up she threw her bag over her shoulder and began to make her way towards the doorway. She had been getting terribly bored with the ceremony but it is well a formality.
              There was a noticeable drop in temperature between the Great hall and the Entrance- ‘Must of gotten worse.’ Alexandria thought as she threw her hood over her head just before pushing open the grand arching doors of the Entrance hall. She was met with something of a little snow flurry and breathe of fresh cold air. It was something that made a small smile to brighten up her face as she closed the doors behind her. She made her way towards her house, she had to organize her room as well as make sure she had a place to keep her sword. Avarice was something to make the neighbors ask questions if someone from a normal course of study were to find it.

A bored sigh escaped the lips of the young Headmaster as the ceremonies festivities had dragged on for entirely too long. The thing that killed him the most was that he had no choice but to sit there the entire time. Many of the other Headmasters before his time may have preferred or rather liked this, but Tavion hated it. He hated boredom and having to sit still; he was, after all, still very much youthful. He took a glance behind him and noted the time. It was evening already. With that he stood and clapped his hands together trying to get the attention of those gathered.

"Hello all, the opening ceremony festivities have concluded. If you wish to continue to converse or eat that is entirely up to you. You may stay but note your curfew as they are in full effect. Thank you for joining us today." Tavion spoke, his voice rising well into a forte range. He sat back in his chair for a moment and watched as many began to leave, namely those that he was keeping a close eye on. They surprisingly left with much haste too. A smile crept across his face as he gathered his things and slung his coat on. He wrapped a black scarf around his neck and proceeded for the door, waving and bidding goodbye for the day to the students he passed.
