Erfina grinned. Checkmate. Even after the spell she cast on him and the whole 'kidnapping a dragon only to leave his riches alone and vulnerable' thing, she knew convincing him to accompany her would be easy. She just needed to appeal to his greed. That would be something worth remembering in the future. "That settles it, then. Just accompany on my adventures for a little while, and after we've built a little bit of a reputation and you've gotten enough treasure for your time we can part ways." She says that now, but of course, she planned on stringing him along for as long as possible.

"Woman, I'm a dragon! Dra-gon!" he held his claws by his face and made small slashing motions with them. "I don't need help from some mortal in finding treasure!" Kai snapped.

"Treasure directly from the royal vault of a single species country that, for the most part, keep themselves largely obscured and hidden away?" Erfina asked, smiling faintly at the dragon. "Treasure that no other dragon will ever find or touch, let alone hear of?"

"The peasants would bring me riches in return for their lives!" There was a roar behind his words as he spoke, as though they'd been spoken alongside a furious dragon's call. "I wouldn't need to seek out more treasure had you left me in peace! I'm one of the most powerful creatures to walk this land, even able to conquer the very skies! There is no kingdom that could hide from my sight! Should I seek it out, it would easily be found!"

"Peasants are poor, though, and can only bring you so much before they're bled dry. Plus," A glimpse of cruelty shined in her eyes before she adopted that vacant gaze and smile once more. "to be honest, your hoard wasn't all that impressive." Now to see how Kai would react.

Kai's eyes appeared to glow red with rage before his hole body lit up as well. It wasn't long before a full sized crimson red dragon had taken his place. 'A dragon's hoard is his pride, and you NEVER insult a dragon's pride!!!' he spoke as he let out a low growl before turning it into a furious roar. 'You may be safe from my wrath for now, but there is little more than your behavior that should keep you safe once our 'partnership' is over. Know your place, woman, because this leash of yours won't keep me at bay forever.' he said as he threateningly blew two small trails of fire in her face from his nostrils.

Erfina stared wide-eyed at Kai for several moments after he finished with his threatening display. She didn't move or speak. She barely even breathed. After several moments of this she finally regained her composure, doing something most unusual. She laughed. Not at Kai, for she knew he was serious. But it was his seriousness she found so amusing. Never in her life had she been called on her s**t so blatantly, let alone openly threatened for it. Travelling with Kai was going to be amusing indeed. But first, to try - key word being TRY here - and diffuse the situation. "I apologize - your horde really is grandoise. I just wanted to see how big a reaction I could milk from you." With that, she turned and walked off as she continued to speak. "Please don't take it personally, I do this with everyone. But because of my circumstances, people never really call me on it. Thanks for being the first. It's really brightened my day~" Man, Erfina really sucks at apologies doesn't she? It's even worse since she was being totally honest with it, too. Or at least, as honest as she could get without outright stating what her social status was.

A vein popped on the dragon's head, fire exploding in his mouth and leaking out from between his teeth before returning to his (half) human form. "What on god's green earth is wrong with you?!" he shouted before dashing a bit to catch up with her. "You do NOT piss off a dragon for funsies!"

"As I said, I piss off everyone for funsies." Erfina replied, giving a small shrug as she said so. "Plus, as you might have noticed, I'm not some two bit novice when it comes to magic. Otherwise, you would have roasted me or done whatever else wouldn't you?" As an elf, she's had well over a couple thousand years to practice her spellcasting to an art. Not that she'd bother to discuss such details with the dragon, as he seemed largely ignorant of what elves were to begin with.

"Yeah, yeah...You just actually had some brains when you decided to come after me." Kai said as he folded his bulky arms. "You'd be surprised how many dumbasses try to take me down with swords, spears, and all manner of offensive spells. Few actually think to try knocking me out or taming me like you have." It was bitter, but it was a compliment. At least Erfina was actually smart about her assault.
