 Austin continued arguing with his mother until his throat was sore and they finally hung up. Austin was emotionally exhausted now, hating what was going on now. He didn't want Bella to have to leave, he didn't want to lose her. He cared about her and, dare he think it, love her? He growled to himself, sinking to his knees and covering his face with his hands, tears appearing in his eyes. He normally wasn't one for crying, but if he was really worried or sad about something, he would . He cried for a while, then he just knelled there in his office, new thoughts whizzing through his mind. His mother wasn't giving in on this and he knew he could never get Amber to change her mind, so he needed to find a way to save Bella from being sent back to the slavery market. He went on his computer to find a way to save Bella from having to go back and finally found out he could get her freedom papers so she wouldn't be classified as a slave anymore and she wouldn't have to get hurt anymore. He spent the time until sunset filling out the paperwork online and sent it in. Once he was done, he went downstairs to make dinner, calling Bella when it was done. He paused when he noticed she didn't come down and went to find her in the house, calling her name. He couldn't find her anywhere and he started to get worried, so, grabbing his keys and phone, he went to find her, heading first for the park, knowing she would be there.

 Bella was sitting on a branch that was strong and had her knees agaisnt her chest as tears flowed off her face. Austin had yet to see her cry in front of him. But that was becasue she didn't want him to see her like this. She then turned into a bat watching the sunset. Then she heard guards and was grateful she was in her bat form. Then a net appeared in front of her face and she started to squeak up a storm. Then she turned into a wolf and ran into the street and got hit by a car. THe car stopped after it hit her really hard and she laid there motionless as she laid there. She whimpered trying to act like a dog. Only Austin could understand her in her animal forms. She had a special connection with him that she knew wouldn't break no matter what. She took shaky breaths as she lay there with blood coming from her mouth and her eyes closed.

Scarletleaf44 Austin ran into the park, taking the normal paths, looking everywhere for Bella. he paused under a tree, looking around, "Bella! BELLA!" he called, cupping his hands around his mouth. He stopped one of his neighbors, a frequent visitor of the park who knew if Bella was there or not. he asked her if she'd seen Bella and she told him she had, telling him what she'd seen. Austin thanked her and took off for the road where Bella had run, his heart dropping when he sat a motionless form on the street, "Bella!" he said, running over to her and dropping to his knees, "Bella, can you hear me?" he asked, afraid to touch her in case it hurt her worse.

Bella whimper and took a shaky breath as she did. SHe was saying "Austin....' She opened her eyes and tried to move over to him. But it hurt to move. The man that Hit her just before Austin arrived said "Oh my gosh! I'm sorry. She just ran out into the road. I'll help take her to a vet. Please I'll be happy to pay the expense." Bella winced as she moved her head a little looking at Austin weakly. She had a few broke ribs but no puncture wounds though it was close. She then licked his hand saying "I'm sorry." but it sounded like a whimper to the man that hit her.

Austin gently touched the top of Bella's head, "Don't move, Bella, you're hurt, you don't want to make it worse." he whispered soothingly, smiling gently at her. Lifting his head, he looked at the man, "Thank you, I appreciate it." he said, knowing if his parents knew that Bella had been hurt they wouldn't even bother to pay for the bills and he would have to do it himself. He looked again at Bella and shook his head, meaning she didn't have to apologize. "Come on, we'll have to move her carefully." he said to the man, wondering how they would be able to move her without hurting her too much.

The man nodded and went over to his trunk He layed a blanket on the ground and said "If we can gently lift her onto the blanket then all we have to do is lift her into the car." Bella looked at Austin and nudged his hand wanting him to try. She needed help and the wounds would only get worse if she stayed here any more.

Austin smiled and nodded, "All right, let's try it." he said. he waited until the man was on Bella's other side before they gently slid their hands under her and lifted her onto the blanket. Once she was on it, they lifted it carefully and slid her into the back of the truck. "I'm gonna sit inn the back with her. If you could just head for the nearest vet?" he asked softly, climbing into the back of he truck with Bella.

"Alright just talk to her. It's only a few blocks downt he road We'll be there asap." He said as he got into the drivers seat and started the truck up. Bella whimpered at Austin saying "Master....don't leave me." She was scared and was taking shaky breaths as she licked his hand nervously.

Austin nodded and gently smoothing Bella's ears as they rode to the vet. "Don't worry Bella, I won't ever leave you." he promised, smiling gently at her. "Everything will be all right. We'll get you to the vet and get you all fixed up." he smoothed her ears back again, feeling like this ride was taking an eternity. Finally, they pulled up in front of the veteran hospital and the man parked. Austin opened the truck bed door and with the man's help, got Bella out of the truck and carried her inside. As soon as they got her in, he went to the woman at the counter and told her what had happened. Bella was admitted immediately and taken to an examination room to find out what the damage was. Austin was made to wait outside in the waiting room and he paced the length of the room anxiously, unable to sit still.

The vet was looking at the now devloped x-rays and Bella was given some pain medicine to help her breathe better. The vet then came out and called Austin into the examination room before saying "She's got 4 broken ribs but no punctures but it was very close to her lung." He then sighed "We can either repair it with surgery or you can make a hard decision." He added as he looked at Austin showing him the x-rays. Bella was laying with her head in his lap. There were no fatal injuries but she would be in pain for weeks. Bella whimpered saying "Master... Don't let him do the second thing. I don't want to leave you." She then looked at him buriying her face wincing as she did. It hurt to move at all. She wanted Austin to be with her. THe man who hit her paid the [bill and said "If there are any other payments please let me know." He then sat down. He was rich and had a dog of his own that was the world to him. He knew that Austin's dog was special to him as well.

Austin continued to pace anxiously as he waited for the vet to cal him in. He went into the examination room when called ant sat down, letting Bella lay her head on his lap. He gently stroked her ears again, listening to what the doctor told him, examining the x-rays as well. His heart pinched as the vet told him his options. He didn't want to lose Bella. He stroked her ears more, looking at the man who'd brought them here. He smiled in thanks, then looked at the vet again. "How soon can you perform the surgery on Bella?" he asked in a hard tone, making his decision. He didn't want Bella to be in pain, but he also didn't want to lose her. He wanted her to stay with him, no matter what his parents or Amber thought.

"We can operate as soonwas i get a nurse to prepare the tools I'll need. Plus Bella will need to wear a cast for about 6 weeks once we get the bones set. I'll go get the nurse to prepare everything. Then she and another nurse will come get Bella." He said as he left the room to let them have some time alone before the surgery. Bella was scared not having had surgery before. Once the vet was ready Bella was put under the light and was given some drugs to put her to sleep while they did the operation and was shaved a bit to keep the blood out of her fur and for easy access to the ribs. Then they got to work setting her ribs back into place, which took two hours because the doctor needed to put the bones in the right socket.. Once they were done, Bella was taken off the sleep medicine and was put in a recovery room while she woke up. The vet then went in and got Austin leading him to Bella who was covered in a blanket still asleep.

Austin nodded, watching the doctor go off to get what he needed. He looked down at Bella ask, stroking her ears more, "Don't worry, Bella, you're going to be all right." he whispered softly, knowing she was scared, but also knowing she really needed this operation if she was going to get better. When everything was set, Austin got up, watching as Bella was wheeled away, feeling scared and worried about her as she went. He turned back to the man who had helped them, "Hey, thanks man, I really appreciate you helping us out." he said gratefully, glad he had so Bella could be saved. He didn't know what he would do if she wasn't and he was left alone to deal with everything on his own. Waiting in the waiting room, Austin paced again, sitting down at times, but getting back up minutes later to pace some more. When the doctor came out, he was relived and followed him to where Bella was sleeping. He sat next to the table, rubbing her ears, "Should I wait a while before moving her? I don't want to mess anything up." he said to the doctor, looking up at him again.

Austin listened to the doctor's instructions and nodded at the end, wanting to do everything he could to make sure Bella got better. He thanked the man again before he left, smiling down at Bella when he felt her nudge his hand, "It's just the pain medicine you're on, Bells, you're all right." he whispered soothingly, stroking her between the ears again. "We're gonna be heading hope in a bit, I just need to call Alex for a ride, okay?' he said, pulling out his phone and speed dialing his friend Alex. He explained to him what had happened and asked if he could pick him and Bella up. He agreed right away, knowing how much Bella meant to him and went to pick them up at the vet. He helped Austin get Bella comfortable in the back seat while he and his friend got in the front and headed for Austin's house, stopping at the pharmacy to pick up Bella's medication before they went to the house.
