 ~~~ Her jaw worked the stem of a corncob pipe over as a daunting figure sat in the room beyond them. Overcast by the light that filtered in behind her, the features of the woman were cloaked in shadow. The only thing that could be easily seen were her two, thick, muddy, combat boots that were kicked up on the desk. No trail of smoke issued up from the corncob pipe as she worked it over but two great horns issued out from the side of her head. Rocking a bit forward so that her features came into view, she gave a bemused smile, "What a boy does or doesn't do with his pants shouldn't be your concern Miss Aramori... at least not for a few more years." She had a very... foreign accent. Her soft-spoken Japanese was cut with a sleight, clean, proper, British accent. The accent was not truly heavy, in fact one might hardly notice it if they'd heard a British accent before. However, it was not an accent others had heard before so it came across as something of a oddity. When the clan lord had left just over six months ago, she'd not spoken with any discernible accent. ~~~  "...so forget the thorns... ever rose also has all the love and effort you put into it."

I'll never give up until I'm the best that I can be!"Theme: Interesting People When Talon bluntly told the other ninja that he didn't have any pants on (in an unnecessarily dark done of voice, for some reason) Uani continued to have her head turned in the opposite direction. However as she was, an unfamiliar voice came from the office. Uani was...confused to say the least. It would have made more sense if it was Kensei that said it, but this woman, with her strange accent and the horns on her head, she was completely unfamiliar but was sitting in the clan head's office. Uani's emerald green eyes stared at the woman for a bit. It was always surprising when someone you didn't know knew your name. When the woman's words finally registered in Uani's mind, Uani grew a slightly darker shade of red.
"I-I wasn't...I'm not...I-It's just...very inappropriate for a boy to walk around ladies with no pants on! And it...makes me uncomfortable...umm...wait, who are you? Why isn't Kensei-sama here?"

~~~ "All good questions my dear..." The corncob pipe waggled a bit as she spoke, accentuating her words as she spoke. With a free hand she removed the corncob pipe from her lips. She swept her feet off the desk with one swift motion and stood before the three gathered ninja. "...but they can all simply be answered with one answer. Now, my dear, I am a fan of puzzles. They make the less intelligent squirm so wonderfully. So, lets see if YOU can deduce who I am my dear and why I might be sitting at this desk instead of "Kensei-sama"... and walk me through your though process if you could." The woman's face seemed rather amused with the whole situations, though there was a teacher-like patience in her voice. ~~~ "...so forget the thorns... ever rose also has all the love and effort you put into it."

 The man from earlier finally caught up with the two, rubbing the back of his head and yawning. Damned kids running ahead of him. He didn't have the will to run and keep up with them since there was really no reason to do so.
"Geez, did you guys have to go running off? I'm not young like you guys anymore....."
His gaze wandered to the horned woman and his sentence sort of died in his throat. He figured she must be who the message mentioned.
"So are you the new clan leader then? What happened to poor Kensei?"

Kye Senju
Kye might have felt Threatened had he not been more amused at the outright attempt of intimidation by someone who clearly wanted to be the "Alpha Male". He might have responded had the new clan leader not captured everyone's attention, and simply dismissed the concern of him not wearing pants...
wait...
He wasn't wearing pants...
Blood was rushing to his face. He now understood why the poor girl was so distraught, Kye knew social Etiquette, but he had been in such a rush that he had simply forgot his pants. It wasn't the first time he had done so, and he doubted it would be the last. He also understood now why it felt so drafty.
On another note he found the tone and mannerism of the new clan leader to be intriguing. He did wonder where she got that accent.
When the elder ninja showed up, it all but confirmed his initial assumption of this being a squad formation for a mission.
On another note he had mixed feelings working with the black garbed a*****e who had already tried to start Hostilities. He wasn't above fighting, but it would be when he chose, not his emotions. Also he wouldn't jeopardize Squad Harmony for a simple conflict. What conflict was there? He had simply Forgot to wear Pants, and then was rather rudely asked why, as if he had purposely decided not to where them. He wasn't sure if he liked the kid in black, He obviously lacked social skills, and seemed obsessed with trying to look scary... or so Kye supposed. Yet From this make-up they would seem to be working together, and if pieces do not move as intended on the board then how can one win?
Perhaps The kid just needed a friend to learn better social graces.
Clearing his throat Kye decided to speak, and still kind of blushing because he now knew he was without pants.
"Not that I am not intrigued by Kensei's not being here, It appears we are an entire squad put together and that would mean that there is a mission to be had, alternatively we may be meeting so we can better the camaraderie and teamwork of the team, which I would say might be needed. There are of course other possibilities, but with the current make up of people here is it likely one of the two said."

I'll never give up until I'm the best that I can be!"Theme: Interesting People As the horned woman stood and spoke, Uani couldn't help but be a little annoyed. Puzzles make the less intelligent squirm? And then she was trying to give this puzzle of who she was and why she was there to Uani, which was in a way questioning her intelligence. It all seemed very arrogant and rude, she was sure Kensei-sama wouldn't have said something like that if it was him they were talking to. But aside from the quick look of annoyance on Uani's face, Uani knew that this was probably someone important since she was in the Clan head's office and all. So she figured she should just play along with her little game.
The problem was she didn't really have any clue why she was there or where Kensei went.
"Okay...let me think..."
Uani was rubbing her temples with her fingers, trying to force some kind of idea out of her head so she didn't just stand there blankly and look stupid.
"Well, when we last saw Kensei he was working really hard, right? So maybe he...passed out from exhaustion! No, he wouldn't let something like that happen...maybe he just went on a break! And you're...umm...filling in for him until his breaks over?"
Uani couldn't help but smile, thinking that she got it right. However the man from before showed up, he said something about the woman being the new clan head. It made Uani remember that Kensei was only temporarily in the position until a new leader was chosen. That...made a lot more sense than what she had said... Now she felt dumb.
And then there was the pantless kid. As he spoke, he just sounded smart...which made her feel even more dumb. He said what she had thought when she first saw that together they made three, they were probably there to be formed into a squad and given a mission. She couldn't help but sigh...she was sure that Talon was the only one that didn't think her a complete idiot by now...
Uani wanted to ask the woman her name, and to ask what happened with Kensei, but she figured she should just stay quiet, lest she make herself seem even dumber...

~~~ "Very good Kye. In a way your both right. We've gather here for a mission and yes... in a way suppose I am filling in for Kensei. Though he was relaxed man and it IS unlikely he passed out from exhaustion." She replaced the corncob pipe. "From me you will learn one thing- deduction. Observe what you can, my dears, and draw a conclusion from what you can learn from the situation. For example... there are no dead ninja in this building and no signs of damage. I could be an enemy ninja posing as the Clan Lord's replacement and I could be rather good at cleaning up my messes. However, I could also be the new Clan Lord just arrived. I am at the designated location of your meeting with the pre-knowledge that you have a mission, and I know your names and I apparently know your relative ranks because I didn't bow when you came in. So it would stand to reason that I'm either a very well informed impostor or... in fact Burabura Senju, the head of the Senju clan." On the last part of the sentence she gave a kind smile. ~~~ "...so forget the thorns... ever rose also has all the love and effort you put into it."

Talon Senju  Stepping away from the boy, Talon was already tired of all the needless talking that had been going on for a moment now. Turning his head over to where the clan leaders office was, He sensed that the voice of the woman with horns was coming from inside the leader's office. He stud there for a moment without moving a muscle, using his jutsu to 'see' what she looked like for a moment. Turning his body to the left he was now fulling facing her, watching her from the door way. He could feel something about her... was it honestly or... Watching her smile to them after introducing herself, Talon smiled darkly for a moment Talon walked into her office. He was ready for a fight but he was also ready for a mission as well, He knew what he did was not the smartest move but it was time to put up or shut up. If she was an imposter, he wanted complete first dibs on taking her apart. But if she was the Clan leader, then she would know right off the bat that this was a test. He didn't trust easy and the only ones he did trust was his friends and family, So he was prepared for anything. " Either way, I don't trust you... But since we were called here on business, I think its time that we got started. "

It was clear that Uani figured that this person wasn't an impostor and was in fact the real clan leader despite her own warnings that she could be an impostor. Uani was typically a very trusting soul (something strange for a thief) and would much rather believe the good in people than assume the worst. But that wasn't even the reason she was sure this was no impostor.
"She said that she could be an impostor. No real impostor would ever even let the idea that they could be an impostor get into the minds of the people they're fooling. Hiding your true self is an illusion, and if there's doubt in your targets minds that the illusion is true, then it will fall apart. Its kinda like a genjutsu I guess...but without all the chakra molding..."
A smile lit up Uani's face as she spoke. When it came to hiding, she was an expert, the only thing she did better was run away. Not the bravest sounding talents but extremely useful ones. However, Uani knew that she could still be wrong. If an impostor knew that she'd think that way, then they would claim to be an impostor, knowing that Uani would rule it out as a possibility. However, if an impostor was already that clever, then she already lost this battle of wits. She couldn't think several moves ahead like some chess player, if fact she didn't even know how to play chess. She just had to believe her instincts on this one.
"So, Burabura-sama, is there a mission for us? And if there is, will there be enough time for...err...him over there to put some pants on before we go?"

~~~ Burabura gave a proud smile as she listened to Uani, "That was a very good deduction my dear... and yes- There IS a mission and I believe the three of you would be very well suited for it." The Clan Lord shifted the corncob pipe from her mouth to her hand. "Unity... unity is what makes mankind able to rise above the other creatures on this planet. We do not have wicked claws or sharp teeth- we have the bonds that we share with our fellows. The Senju clan knows this most of all and we strive to embody this ideal- bonds before blades as they say. I will be sending you on a mission of great importance. You will be tasked with the formation of these bonds." She returned to her previous position at her desk, her feat kicked up on the desk. A few flakes of dried mud now chipping off her boots. "I'm going to task you three with this mission not because you are the strongest, the bravest, or even the most loyal... no I am asking you to undertake this vital mission on behalf of the entire Senju clan because you each posses a unique view of the world because of the experiences you've had in the past. Some people might call them attitudes, likes and dislikes, or even biases, but whatever you will call them- I believe you have the right combination to make this work." She smiled once again, she seemingly could not contain her... pride? "I am asking you three to act as special envoys for the Senju.... what do you have to say for yourselves? This is an entirely voluntary mission... though a vital one." ~~~ "...so forget the thorns... ever rose also has all the love and effort you put into it."

Kye Senju
Kye was intrigued. The person at the desk had obviously only recently come in from Travel, he could tell because of the dried mud that had chipped off. This didn't necessarily Preclude them from telling the truth, it was known that Kensei had been an interim leader for someone else. Plus there was something else...
Talon seemed ready for a close up fight considering he had closed some distance. The poor Girl seemed confused, and the elder Ninja just stood there. If this character had indeed killed Kensei then it would be best to take extreme caution and formulate the best plan for capture. However Kye still seemed inclined to think this was indeed the clan leader, He could see no strategic advantage for sending 3 Genin on a useless activity when there were still Several experienced Jonin. At best Burabura was being honest, at worse they were caught in a Genjutsu that was hiding their opponent's movements and possible room Damage. He just wanted to be sure.
Keeping his tone and body cordial and accepting he spoke,
"Is where we should be going where you just came from? And while I wasn't concerned or wondering about Kensei before I certainly am now, because you used the Past tense to refer to him. After I know this I should be Glad to take on any mission for the good of the Senju Clan."

Talon Senju Looking over to Uani, Talon listened to her speak for a moment about him being rube towards the Clan leader. She had a point that the new lady could possibly be the new clan leader of the Senji, but he was going to stay quiet about it for now. Taking a step back for a moment, Talon politely bowed to Uani and the Clan leader. " Pardon my manners. " Raising up from his bow to them, Talon stud there quietly as he listened to Uani continue to talk to him about what she felt. Maybe she was right, Burabura was the clan leader now, and if she was an imposter then she was a very skilled one at best. Regardless Talon nodded to Uani's idea's and decided to follow it for now, besides he was very tired at the moment. Nodding to Uani for a moment, Talon turned around and watched as Uani asked about the mission as well. Knowing that Uani's guard was down, He kept his guard up for her. Looking over to the clan leader for a moment about the details he learned that this was not at all a fighting mission, they were going to be sent to form 'bonds' in this mission. It was not something he was good at but Uani had a better shot at making bonds then him, sighing he had already learned that this was going to be a important mission with a lot of free time around them. Thinking on it for a moment He was ready to move, he was on high alert and he didn't care.

~~~ "Astute Kye, but I referred to him in the past tense only because he is no longer in this office. He's safe and I'd imagine he is enjoying himself now that he no longer has to take this office. He will be staying on in an advisory capacity." Taking a moment to light the pipe she took a few puffs on it before continuing. "Depending on where you are referring too, you may at some point go where I was heading. I was visiting a man who goes by the name of Gaijin. It's not a very pretty name, but he knows full well the implications when he chose it. The first clan you will be evaluating is the Sarutobi Clan. Your recommendation will be vital in deciding if we accept them as allies or not." ~~~ "...so forget the thorns... ever rose also has all the love and effort you put into it."

Uani couldn't help the widening of her smile. Not only did this sound like something she would actually be very good at, she also would be doing something important for the clan. She hadn't done much yet in repayment for the kindness they showed her, it would be a great start.
Plus, being an envoy just sounded so...official...
"So we're evaluating how good these clans would be as allies? That does sound like something important... I'm definitely going! I promise I'll do my best, Burabura-sama!"
So these clans were possibly going to be like her own...She remembered how helpful her clan had been to the Senju, and how they had protection in return. This would be a mission much better than one where they had to go and beat up some enemies, in this one everybody would win. But she knew they also had to be careful, since letting a clan that was dangerous get too close to them was an invitation to be stabbed in the back. And Burabura-sama was going to trust their word on this...it was an honor to be given such a responsibility.
But that one guy would definitely need pants before they left...

Suspicions assayed for now, Kye Started to run through the importance of the mission and what it entailed.
"At first glance it may seem like a harmless and Fun Mission but in truth there is also the possibility of immense Danger. We would be heading into another Ninja's Territory and even being put in situations where we could very well be at the mercy of our Hosts. While the very Reputation of the Senju clan as a whole would protect from outright violence in most scenarios, it did not Preclude "Accidents." Especially if we are inclined to say no. Also we would need to be Extremely Well prepared for a possible quick escape through unfamiliar Territory."
On the way up they would best spend there times learning the aptitudes and abilities of each other, and plan for some initial Battle reactions. Socializing would of course be necessary and they would have to look presentable. If they had time he might be able to get a Tailor to put together a presentable outfit that could also function in combat.
"Yet Even with all the Dangers we can't treat them as enemies, or we would breed Mistrust and spoil any relationship before it could even start. I Will gladly accept such a Delicate Mission. I might get to meet some new Shogi Players. How long do we have to make preparations for leaving?"
