Avery swallowed as he listened to Timothy. "So, you're saying, no one can get off this island? Even if people come looking for us... they'll get stuck here too?"
I am never going to see my parents or my friends again? Avery thought, upset. I'm stuck here on this ******** island, with animal people of all things, forever? There were tears falling down his face - again - but this time he was far too upset to feel embarrassed about it. "Why!?"

Timothy, turned around, noticing that Avery was crying. Well, noticing that Avery was crying harder than he was. Timothy had taken it about the same way.
He moved back over to him, hugging Avery, not sure if his desire to be supportive was actually just motivated by his lust for the cute blonde boy. But Timothy decided not to worry about that... or atleast told himself not to.
"Hey... well listen, that was when the Doctor was around. Maybe without him, who knows." he patted Avery's back and something snapped in him, for the first time since he'd lost his guitar he felt inspired.
"You can't tell your crying, in the rain... ...you can't tell the truth, in the rain."
It was just a couple of verses that he'd uttered softly but... he hadn't felt so inspired since... well he didn't know since when.

He didn't seem at all frightened by the contact. He welcomed it; Avery responded better to physical comfort than anything else, and he hugged Timothy back, crying against his shoulder.
"We were going to build a big fire, so maybe the cruise ship we were on would see," he sniffed. "And... and then..." he trailed off when Timothy started singing, tears still falling down his cheeks but no longer really crying. When Timothy stopped, Avery pulled back slightly. "You have a nice voice," he said, laughing a little - but it sounded a bit strained.
"God, I'm sorry. I keep crying on and off since I washed up on shore..." he sighed. "I just don't know what to do with myself... everything got dumped on me all at once, and I... I just don't want to think about it."

"Well it's just weather, it'll clear up..." Timothy found himself in a position he'd almost never been in before. He wasn't the one crying (well much) and he was the one trying to comfort someone.
Then Avery said it "You have a nice voice," and Timothy felt something flutter, despite the situation, despite the completely wrongness of it. Timothy felt, giddy.
"We'll... figure it out, I'm certain of it..." but did he really mean that, did he really want it all figured out anymore. Timothy decided to just keep going with that song he'd been making up. Maybe that would help Avery. Besides, he didn't know what else to say to him.
"You can't tell your crying, in the rain... ...you can't tell the truth, in the rain.
When your here, when your sad... ... I won't tell. No one can tell.
They can't tell your crying, in the rain. ...they can't see the truth, in the rain.
And if you are so lonely... ...if you are alone. I know how you feel.
I've been crying in rain... ...I can pretend I wasn't crying... ...I can pretend that you weren't crying... ...We can pretend that we weren't crying...
...when it rainsss."

Avery slowly began to relax as Timothy continued his song. He really did have a nice voice... and he didn't have claws or fangs, and he didn't talk weird like the deer man did. Much less intimidating. Avery just hoped that Timothy didn't get frightened or something and... well, he just hoped there wouldn't be any really bad smells.
When Timothy finished singing, Avery took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. "Okay... I think I'm done crying for now," he offered a small smile, his eyes still just a little watery. "Thanks... that helped."
He suddenly shivered, as if he just remembered that it was still raining. "Lets find someplace warm - or at least dry, okay? I don't want to catch a cold, on top of everything else that's happened today..."

"Sure... " Timothy thought for a second. "I think I know the place, but it's a little cramped."
Say that's fine please say that's fine... were the thoughts racing through Timothy's head.
"It's sort of where I woke up, when everything shut down. A large burrow actually." Timothy started walking towards it. "It's built with a large tree near the entrance to block most of the rain and we should be safe." Timothy had been staying there some, when all of this happened, before he'd met with Awen.
He tried to sound confident, "Ahhh.. probably even have a bit of light when the... lightning flashes anyway."

"Oh, I don't care how cramped it is. I just want to get dry," Avery said, and he started following Timothy though the forest again. When he said, 'we should be safe' another thought crossed Avery's mind.
"There aren't any... like... animals in the forest, are there? Er, besides... well, you know..." he trailed off, not wanting to offend the other boy. "I meant, is there anything here that would try to eat us or something?"
He hoped this burrow wasn't too far... his body was still sore, and he was starting to feel tired.

"Well..." Timothy stuttered.
I'm like a giant animal... Timothy thought.
"I've never seen anything dangerous personally..." he shrugged. "I don't know why I said that. Maybe it was just the skunk in me."
He knew it wasn't too far, and found himself glad that he was taking Avery back to this place. He'd heard that Vasile was with Ambrose's camp and well. He wasn't sure he could face him, especially not right now.
He kept having this urge to hold Avery's hand as they were walking but he knew that wouldn't be... appropriate. After a bit of walking they came to a very large tree with a tunnel built along the side of it. Timothy felt comforted somehow.

"Well, that's good... I don't know how far I'd be able to run if we did get attacked by something."
Even if Timothy had tried to reach for one of Avery's hands, he was too busy rubbing his arms trying to warm himself up, or just rubbing his hands together.
When they finally arrived at the burrow, Avery breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks for taking me here... lets get inside quick, yeah?" he smiled at Timothy. "I'm freezing out here."

"Yeah... it is. Here I'll lead the way. I've done this before." Timothy slowly decended down the burrow crawling down head first because he knew it'd be easier to move around that way. It was dark, and low enough that you couldn't stand up. But there was movement and some turning room atleast.
He got enough in and then yelled "Alright Avery, this way. Take hold of my leg if you want me to lead you." he knew that if they went a bit further down it'd be warm, and dry.

"Okay, if you say so..." Avery crawled in after him, also head first since that's how Timothy crawled in. He hoped he wouldn't get claustrophobic, but after crawling in a little more it didn't seem too bad... he could deal with this. He reached forward to grab hold of Timothy's leg, but accidentally grabbed his tail instead, unable to see very well in the tunnel's darkness.
"Oops, that's not your leg... sorry," he apologized quickly, letting go of the tail and putting his hand on Timothy's ankle instead. "Okay, I'm all set now... lead the way, Tim."

Timothy felt Avery's hand reach forward and take hold of his tail. It was irriatating but when he let go, and his hand slid against the fur. That felt really... good.
Timothy really wasn't used to just about any physical contact. But he knew he really liked it. He sniffed a bit, leading the way with his nose and sense of familarity than his eyes in the dark room. After a bit of crawling they got to an area that was warmer and dryer than near the entrance, but as close to it still as possible. It was at a slight angle but easy enough to sit at.
"Here... here we are." he said and smiled to himself. Somewhat lewd thoughts entered his mind as Avery stopped beside him. He didn't know why he was so obsessed he barely knew the guy.
But he looks like someone you know doesn't he... atleast a little, the self realization that Timothy knew all along made him shiver a bit.

Avery followed slowly behind him, being careful not to put too much pressure on Timothy's ankle as they crawled further into the burrow.
"Oh man, this is so much better," he commented out loud when Timothy stopped crawling. Avery moved into a sitting position beside him, leaning back and trying to get as comfortable as he could. He was still bruised, and he winced as he shifted around. "My whole body hurts... this really sucks," he sighed. Avery had no idea about the thoughts currently going through Timothy's head.
"At least it's dry in here though... and warmer. You say you woke up in here? How come?" he asked. "I mean... don't you have a place with a real bed somewhere?"

"Well, I... did have one." Timothy sort of smiled. But if I had had one I wouldn't be here with you...
"But then well, everything shut down. The Doctor who did this to us completely disappeared." he drew himself slightly closer to Avery.
He sighed "Buildings all locked up... and well here we are."
With Avery... Timothy smiled in the darkness.

"Disappeared, huh? Well, that's good... maybe Rex and I can hide someplace, so we won't have to get experimented on, if he shows back up..." he murmured. Avery hugged his knees to his chest, resting his head on his knees. "I think the others I met mentioned something about being locked out too..."
Avery turned his head to look at him, just able to make out Timothy's shape now that his eyes have adjusted a little to the darkness. "So have you been sleeping in here the whole time that you've been locked out? What've you been doing for food and stuff like that?"
