If I ever get a tatoo it will be a henna tatoo. After having a kid I can see what time and life can do to a body so I know better than to get anything permanant done. It won't stay looking that way forever! I think the henna tatoos are cool because they eventually fade away and if you change your mind you can get something else later.

God said not to make any marks on our bodies so I would say no. Besides, what if you regret the tatoo when you are too old or sick to get it removed? It would then just be a mark of shame.

I say no because sometimes tattoos can be missinterpreted by other people and then they willl think down on Christians and you, but do not think to much upon it because we are not to be concentrating on earthly things.

i would say that tattoos are very individual just like walking with God. i've wanted one for a long time, but decided against it because i don't think tattoos look all that great after many years.
sure the old testament talks about not putting marks on your body but in Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said we are to obey 2 commandment: love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. and to love you neighbor as yourself. for those are all the rest of the commandments written.
a Christian has to think about what if one day you do something that isn't glorifying to God, yet if you have a Christian tattoo for everyone to see, your sin may cause others to stumble and sin as well. we aren't all perfect, that is why Jesus came; thus a person cannot be perfect at all times to testify for the outward symbols on their body.
anyone thinking about getting one: wait a few years, put lots of prayer into and if you still want one, get it where only you and God know it is there. i was going to get "Child of God" in hebrew on my side over my ribs.

welll... first and foremost ask God. then read the Bible. it does say that our body is a temple of God and we should treat it like one. i don't really see anything wrong with it, but its not up to me!

God made you he gave you form and such. I think that trying to change yourself wheter through make-up, pireceing, tattos etc. is a slap in the face to God kind of like saying you didn't make me good enough.

I'm with keth Sanders and mkdawgg on this one.
If you have a tattoo, and you make others stumble, then that's a sin.
Have a tattoo, cover it up, no one stumbles, no sin.
Problem is, sooner or later, the tattoo will be uncovered, and someone will stumble.
Do read the Acts; it is a very good book, illustrating that God does not operate rigidly. He is very flexible.
