Well the Giants just hired Perry Fewell as their new defensive coordinator. Hopefully he does well, and strengthens our defense a great deal. He can utilize the talent of our defensive line, bring in skill to the linebacker position, and get our pathetic secondary into shape. Maybe bring in some new players and coaches, and have a good say in the what we do in the draft. Welcome aboard Fewell, we need a lot of improvement. Bring the Giants back to being the defensive team we pride ourselves in; our identity.

...Also, rumors have it that Bill Cowher is waiting for the Giants' head coaching job after Coughlin is relieved of his duties. I really like Coughlin as a coach, but am pretty excited if Cowher does in fact join the Giants some time in the near future. Anyways, hopefully this offseason is successful.

I could see that happening he seems to be a good fit for the Giants.

My 2010 draft plan for the Giants:

We should trade around, so that we get two first round picks this year. Preferably keeping our spot at #15, and then hopefully trading for another top 20 pick. The price we'd have to pay for another first rounder is probably a first and third next year, and our second this year.

Although we may need some help offensively, we definitely should then select two defensive players with those two first round picks. A linebacker, and a safety. A dream scenario would be to get both Rolando McClain (MLB) and Earl Thomas (SS). Imagine the smart McClain gaining knowledge from Pierce's final season, and Thomas starting alongside a healthy Kenny Phillips!?! But we could also look into getting Brandon Spikes (MLB) and Taylor Mays (SS), which would also be a great combo of picks.

Maybe we should wait until after out #15 pick (hopefully a LB is chosen) to see who's available on the board, then making the necessary trade. But I definitely think my plan is worth it, because we'd get two great upcoming defensive players that can make an immediate impact, and have potential to become elite. Not to mention, our defensive scheme switching to the Cover (Tampa) 2.

...And if this doesn't happen, then hopefully we can pick McClain or Spikes in the first round, and then hope that Myron Rolle, Reshad Jones, Nate Allen, or Chad Jones is available in the second or third round.

My updated offseason plan for the Giants:

I'm not completely sure about this. But I'm fairly convinced that Sean Weatherspoon can make a nice transition to MLB. In Fewell's system, it's probably best to get a smart and motivated tackler that can cover well and make plays. Our defensive line should get better, and with Rolle/Phillips and a healthy secondary, he'd be a positive centerpiece. Weatherspoon's attitude and skill-set will benefit this team. If we can trade down in the first round and get Weatherspoon and an extra second rounder, I'd be very pleased.

I think Fewell will also have a positive motivation on Osi. We should try to trade away Kiwi.

So here's a scenario that I'd like:

- We signed Antrel Rolle
- Trade back in the first round for a later first rounder and a second rounder
- Trade Mathias Kiwanuka and a fourth rounder for a second rounder

- Draft:
1. Sean Weatherspoon (MLB)
2. best DT
2. best OT
2. Dexter McCluster (KR/RB/WR)
3. best S
5. best DE
6. Zoltan Mesko (P/K)
7. best OG/OC

They just signed and Austrailian rules player incase they don't resign Jeff Feagles. I think his name was Jy Bond. He Worked out with Sav Rocca so I hope he can do pretty good.

Yep, they signed Jy Bond. He looks pretty good. I think Jeff Feagles had a great career, but he's way past his prime and should look into retirement (finally). I want the Giants to draft Zoltan Mesko though. Mesko can supposedly handle both punting and kickoffs. Then we could leave the field goals to Lawrence Tynes...

That would be good. I think Jeff Feagles son is almost NFL ready. that would be crazy to see him and his son play. XD

Feagles had a pretty bad season last year. Very old too. I'm not sure why the Giants are still trying to sign him. Since when was he given immunity?

The Giants finally made some news today. I really like the Deon Grant signing. It will sure up our depth at safety, and give us a quality player in the secondary. And good thing CC Brown is finally yesterday's news. I also expect Kenny Phillips to be ready for the season (but not at full-Phillips speed), so Grant will be a very nice fill-in that should get some good playing time. Unfortunately though, this 'puts the final nail in the coffin' for all Earl Thomas talk. Before any roster moves this offseason, he was my favorite prospect. He seemed to fit perfectly at the #15 spot, and also would have given us more leeway for other free agents. Oh well, it's all good. Rolle, Phillips, Grant, and Johnson will make a very good group at safety. If Phillips can return to 100% by some point this season, that group will likely be tops in the league.

Although I wasn't surprised the Giants re-signed Jeff Feagles, this move doesn't make much sense. He's an iron man hero, yes, but he shouldn't be immune to playing while washed up. The contract was definitely a way to thank him for the years of service. Feagles is still pretty accurate, but his distance has been terrible as of late. Hopefully Jy Bond creates some good competition. And unfortunately again, this probably eliminates the possibility of the drafting of another player. Zoltan Mesko. He could have been used for both punts and kickoffs. Now that punting is [kind of] taken care of, what now with kicking? Tynes is actually pretty reliable at kicking field goals, but his kickoff distance is awful. Look for us to maybe bring in a kicker with a strong foot, or even draft one late.

And that still leaves MLB as our #1 priority for the Giants. Hopefully it's Rolando McClain or Sean Weatherspoon in the first round. But if not, then I'd still be happy to draft Daryl Washington or Jamar Chaney in the second round.

Hopefully McClain falls to us at #15. I'd still like to trade up to get him, but if he does fall, then this is my preferred mock for the Giants:

1 - Rolando McClain (MLB)
2 - Tyson Alualu (DT)
3 - Matt Tennant (OG/C)
4 - Ed Wang (OT)
5 - Deji Karim (RB/KR)
6 - Zoltan Mesko (P/K)
7 - Kavell Conner (SOLB)

Man that is going to be awesome, were going to run up in there break some things, steal some furniture, take the big screen and some chairs, but it should be a good game. What do you guys think Giants Panthers as a rivalry? I do two years ago we played to decide the number 1 seed, last year repeat same week 16, and now this year we open things off against each other and open there new field. Also we both had Kerry Collins.

Damn, you have no idea how pissed I would be if the Panthers beat the Giants to open the new stadium. Just like how you beat us in our last game at old Giants Stadium (went to that game). But I'm pretty confident in our team this year, and I think the Giants will win that one.

Anyways, I don't think you can call it a rivalry. For some odd reason, it seems like the Giants play the Panthers a lot all of a sudden. I think this is the third regular season in a row when you come here to New York. Then there were a few other games, and that playoff game too (stupid shutout loss, I was at this one too). Buildings of a rivalry, maybe. But it's mostly an NFC East duel for now...

As of now, this is my "big board" for what the Giants should do with the #15 pick:

1. Trade up for Rolando McClain
2. Select Rolando McClain
3. Select Dan Williams
4. Trade back for Sean Weatherspoon
5. Select CJ Spiller
6. Select Earl Thomas
7. Select Mike Iupati (I do not think any of the top OTs will fall)

You know me though, I'm all for Rolando McClain. He should be our top priority in this draft. A defensive leader, a play-caller, and a smart stud in the middle. Fills a great need, and his value is overwhelming. I still believe that it's best to trade up and secure him.

So exciting though, draft day is here!
