Don't think she didn't see that, Forney. Eyes in the back of her head, that one. She knows. She knoooowwws.
The hand was gratefully accepted as he pulled himself up and absently brushed the dirt from his pants. "Well, I have to stick around, but,uh, you don't have to if you don't want to." And while some part of him was hoping they would stay, because having someone to talk to other than your mother was nice, there was the drawback that Forney would have to be dragged along as well. "Wouldn't be too interesting, and you'll probably be questioned like the Spanish Inquisition, but," he trailed off with the shrug of one shoulder.
At least everyone seemed to be alright?

"I wouldn't mind staying." Epsilon piped up, hand and mouth stain with dark chocolate. "Besides, we already said we would." He grinned, standing himself.
"I don't want to stay." Forney said sullenly, arms crossed.
"You don't get a say." Epsilon told him happily, making Forney huff. Thankfully, the male remained silent after that.
"I quite agree." Tian put in. It seemed settled. Despite the fact that there would be a strange Spanish Inquisition with them now, what ever that was, Tian didn't mind staying. Lind seemed to bored and the Herald didn't want him to be bored. "I should like to speak with that woman more intimately. Who is she?" Tian added with polite curiosity.

And, even though there seemed as if there would be the presence of Forney, Lind seemed to brighten up slightly at that. Well. Doesn't seem like this is going to suck quite as much after all.
"Oh, uh, that was my mother," he replied, just realizing how incredibly awkward this had the potential to be. Hopefully she'll lay off the embarrassing stories. Though knowing her, she wouldn't. At all.

Jin Tian blinked in confusion at the word. "Mother?" He asked. He wasn't quite sure what that was. If that woman was Lind's mother, he wondered if all mother's were like that. Basil didn't have a mother, nor did Basil, Forney, or even Basil crazy uncle...at least, not that he'd seen anyway.
"A mother as in the person who give birth to you, correct?" Forney snorted at the Herald's question and Eppi just smiled and shook his head. Tian shot a glare at Forney, but continued. "I am not sure that I understand. You do not look like her and she does not look like you. Is that usual in the offspring?" He asked, clearly vexed.
Epsilon tried to not choke on his chocolate. He'd let Lind take this one.

That question was certainly not one that he had been expecting, and it threw him off balance slightly. "Uh, well, not exactly..." Well. This was awkward. "She's more...um...the mother figure, I guess?" He wasn't quite sure how to explain it that wouldn't make it sound entirely creepy.
Yeah, I kinda fell out of the sky and then just showed up, so I was never technically born, so I don't have technical biological parents period. Oh yeah. That would be fun to explain.

Jin Tian didn't feel like his question was explained at all. He frowned once more. "I still do not understand. Does that mean you do not have a mother?" He knew what a mother figure was and that meant that woman was not Lind's real mother.
"Perhaps he just appeared like you Tian." Epsilon put in helpfully, taking the Herald's hand and swinging it lightly. The teen flashed Lind a knowing look, but what he knew exactly was anyone's guess. "You don't have a mother, so I supposed that it makes sense that way. Or perhaps Lind was adopted. You know what that means, don't you?"
The Herald nodded. He knew what that was, but he still looked to Lind, wanting the male to expound further.

]"I guess not..." Well. That was kind of depressing. It wasn't like Subo was a bad mother or anything, just kinda strange to still not really quite know where you came from and all.
"I mean, I guess I did," he said with a shrug, shoving errant strands of hair out of his eyes. "I don't really remember...not living there, so..." Every once in awhile there was that little bit of an annoying memory that lay just out of reach that hinted at something else, but it never let itself be explored any further.
"Maybe it was aliens."

Tian wrinkled his nose. "Aliens?"
"Oh wow! You think?" Epsilon asked enthusiastically. He flounced over to Lind and gave him a quick hug, feeling like male needed one. "My mother is up there, and my father too. Oh, and brothers!" He said rather proudly, waving towards the sky. The teen's smile dimmed a moment when he caught sight of Forney. The male looked about to say something but was silenced with a lilac glare.
"Do you have any siblings Lind?" Tian asked, taking Eppi's hint and moving the conversation on. He didn't care about the whole mother thing anyhow.

"Yep. Can peel off my face and have three eyes and everything."
The hug was rather unexpected, as was the comment about his family. There was a rather confused and curious look up at the sky when he gestured to it, though he saw nothing but clouds. And the sun. Which wasn't fun to look at.
"Yesssss. Kind of." Yet again, not blood relatives, but still seemed to act as if they were. Hey, Forney wasn't the first one to try and get under his skin.

"Awesome!" Epsilon crowed, looking like he wanted to try it out, but thankfully, he stepped back to Jin Tian's side, looking thoroughly happy about it. He was oblivious to the confusion that he had caused.
"I have a brother...I think." Jin Tian replied slowly. He had dreamed about a pink haired figure very recently as of late. "I do not think he is my real brother though. Perhaps one by marriage." Now the Herald was just confusing himself and his gave his brain a mental shake.
"Do you get to babysit Lind?" Epsilon put in eagerly. He liked babysitting himself. Kids were fun.

It would be vastly preferred if he didn't try and pull his face off. It wasn't going anywhere, really.
Jin Tian's comment was met by a snort. "You should be glad you can't, would be stuck looking after him whenever they could get you to." Because. Well. That was always a hoot.
"Sadly, yes," he said with a long suffering sigh, which earned him a light punch on his arm from Subo, who had just exited from the store. "If you don't like it so much, we can always put you to working in the yard," she said with a grin.
"...no thanks."

Both Jin Tian and Epsilon chuckled. Well...Epsilon giggled more than chuckled, but it was still a delighted laugh nonetheless at Subo's re-entrance.
"Ooh, manual labor." Eppi stuck out his tongue in mock disgust looking cute. "Does bouncing on a trampoline count?"
"No, it does not." Tian replied, causing the teen to shrug and laugh again. Forney was not laughing. His arms were still crossed and he was looking surly. For a full grown man, he sure was sulking like a child. He wanted to say a few words to the woman, but was too afraid to.

"Only if you mow the lawn first." Because, well. Can't really use a trampoline if the grass is as tall as the trampoline itself.
And having a trampoline helps as well.
Forney could say what was on his mind. I mean, they were both adults, they could discuss things in a reasonable manner. Of course, if he started acting like a five year old again, then they'd have a bit of a problem.

Of course, Forney was going to act like a five year old. The whole tantrum thing was right up his alley. He was good at it. But the woman scared him so he continued to inwardly sneeze.
"Grass makes me itchy." Epsilon said in a moment of T.M.I. "So, Lind's mom, do you need help shopping?" The teen asked sweetly, meaning that he and Tian would help carry the bags and such as well as keep Lind company. Jin Tian was nodding an agreement.

Well, he shouldn't feel that he has to stop from expressing himself due to the company he happens to be around.
'That would be lovely, thank you," she said with a smile. "Though I don;t mace much left to do, so I won't take up all of your time." And thankfully for them, most of the shopping was business related, so there wouldn't be too terribly much to carry.
This time.
