Jin Tian knew how to smile properly like Epsilon, he would have, if only to try and brighten the mood. He felt bad for upsetting Ophelia especially since he felt like he couldn't rectify the situation.
"Yes. It hurts really bad." Tian explained, words neither condescending or belittling in any way. "That is why I do not lie." He added, patting Ophelia on the head in a brotherly manner. "Please do not be upset anymore. Smile again. Okay?" He wasn't one for subtlety.

And Ophelia did smile, it was a little weak though. She didn't really feel all that happy, but she wanted to be and she wanted to smile for Jin Tian too, he was so very nice to her and he want her to smile. "Okay," she said nodding slowly and trying hard to make her smile more real.

The lack of sincerity in Ophelia's smile only seemed to upset Tian more. He hated that he couldn't fix this unhappiness. For some reason, he believe that he should be able to change this with a snap of his fingers.
"You can't just suddenly make someone happy." Epsilon explained, as if reading Jin Tian's mind. "No matter how much you want to." The teen turned and gave Ophelia a little smile of encouragement before looking at Tian again. "Oh, and you're dripping Tian."
The Herald didn't swear but he did stand up suddenly, staring down at vanilla ice cream dribbling onto his hand and sleeve. He looked at both Ophelia and Epsilon, clearly at a loss as to what to do. The male's face made Eppi burst out laughing and he wasn't able to explain that Tian should lick up the drips ot just throw the ice cream away.

The look on Jin Tian's face was entertaining even to the sad little girl and that coupled with Epsilon's laughter made it so that Ophelia could smile, a really smile. "You have to eat it quick or it will get all messy and everywhere," she said suggesting the method that she used when she lost control of her ice cream.
Speaking of, she looked down at her own ice cream which had been neglected during the conversation. It too was starting to melt, in fact it seemed like it had been doing for a while, dripping down the cone and onto her hand. She hadn't noticed though because of the gloves she was wearing, Epsilon's gloves, now covered in ice cream. All she could manage to say was "Oh no."

At least Ophelia finally smiled. Tian was very glad for that, even if he didn't show it outwardly.
Jin Tian refocused on his ice cream, deciding to toss the wicked thing into the garbage. He was done eating it anyways. "I suppose I should have listened to your advice Ophelia." Tian said before he stepped away to throw the ice cream into a nearby trash can. He returned, licking his fingers, noticing the girl's dismay.
"What is the matter?" He queried, looking at the dirtied gloves. Tian looked to Epsilon who didn't seem to care.
"Don't worry about it Ophelia." Epsilon assured, waving his hand dismissively. "I've got loads and loads of gloves. I'm not going to miss one pair." He didn't have any problem with his ice cream, finishing it ages ago.

Ophelia felt bad as she finished off the rest of her ice cream, she couldn't bring herself to throw it out. "I'm sorry," she said anyways disregarding what Epsilon had said about not worry, she said 'I'm sorry' about as regularly as she said 'thank you', they were staples of her vocabulary.

"Please." Epsilon pressed. "Don't be sorry. It's fine really." He said, patting Ophelia's shoulder knidly. "Don't make me buy you another ice cream, because you know I will." The teen added with a grin.
"He will too." Tian supplied helpfull. "Just to be contradictory." Epsilon giggled at the comment.
"Well, you know how much of a rebel I am." He teased, making a fake angry face. He shivered a moment later as a suddenly frigid wind whipped against the them. "It's getting colder I think." Eppi complimented, looking happy for some reason. "Might be time to get going. Can we walk you home Ophelia?"

Ophelia giggled a little herself. She didn't know the word 'contradictory' meant either but she was certain what Tian had said was funny, and Epsilon laughed too so it must have been.
The little girl shivered as the wind hit them again and she nodded in agreement that it was indeed getting cold. "Um, yes please," she said and kept nodding in response to the question about walking her home. She quite enjoyed their company and wanted to spend as much time with her as she could.

Epsilon hopped up, still full of energy, perhaps more so now that he'd had sugar. "Alright!" He air pumped excitedly. "Which way do we go?"
Getting up much more slowly, Jin Tian stood, offering his hand to Ophelia to help the little girl off the bench. The male towered over both his companions and it didn't help that he stood nearly ramrod straight, poised and perfect.

Ophelia took his hand and help gratefully as she hoped off of the bench. Standing there she noticed for the first time how tall Tian was, she had to crane her neck up too look at him.
"We go that way," she said pointing to a path on the other side of the playground where all the children were running around and playing. "It's not that far."

"Then let us off!" Epsilon announced gaily, starting to march happily to were Ophelia had pointed. Tian followed right after, keeping hold of Ophelia's hand as if afraid she might suddenly dash of or something. The older Herald didn't mention the fact that he was holding the little girl's hand, but he did obviously shorten his usually long stride.
"I am glad that it is not too far for you Ophelia." Tian commented, letting Epilon get a little ahead of them. There was a small pause and Jin Tian took a small, fortifying breath. "Can I...ask you a question?" Came the suddenly serious request. "Am I like you? Our wings...they are rather similar." He clarified.

"I don't know..." she replied to his question and her eyes lit up as she thought about it, excited at the idea that she Tian might be the same, that someone so pretty might be like her when she was so... She had met a few other people with wings in the past but she was never really sure if they were like her. "Are you an angel? You look like a angel. Dmitri said that's what I was when he found me, I don't remember that so well."

"I do not know anything about angels. Perhaps I am." Tian replied slowly, thinking over what Ophelia had said. "However, if I am this type of thing then you must be one too." He added, lightly squeezing the little girl's hand comfortingly.
"C'mon you two!" Epsilon called from ahead, waving his hand eagerly, urging them on.
"Best not to leave him waiting." Jin Tian murmured, picking up his step while making sure Ophelia didn't trip. He couldn't help but comment, "Is it good to be an angel? What if that is not what we are?"

Ophelia smiled a little more as she squeezed his hand back. She was happy he thought they were the same too.
She did her best to keep up with him as they quickened to catch up with Epsilon, but her short little legs had to work to do so. "It is great to be an angel, they're good and nice and stuff like that. I don't know what else we could be.

"But, you can be good and nice without being an angel." Jin Tian pointed out. "Look at Epsilon. He is not an angel and is the kindest person I know I think." He almost picked Ophelia up, but refrained, not wanting to frighten the little girl. They made it to Epsilon anyhow and were able to walk normally again. "Perhaps we are birds." He added, falling in step with Epislon.
"I just sneezed." Eppi announced, smiling brilliantly at the two as if it were a joke. "Were you gossiping about me Tian?" He asked with a giggle, swinging back around continue heading down the path. "And, I don't think you guy's are birds. That's just silly."
