You play to win the game. The current overtime rule in the NFL is fine. Offense can win it, defense can win it, and special teams can win it.
I agree with you, besides overtime makes the game just that more exciting to watch, especially if your team happens to be the underdog and is currently doing great during that game. Also to end things in ties is just well LAME(when it comes to sports), it's like saying "okay we all tied, now let's win the superbowl together and be happy cause none of us lost."
Where is the fun in that, the excitement that we all love to get when watching this sport that we love...it just wouldn't be there anymore. Besides in football there can be only one official winning team, it can't just end in a tie. However that doesn't mean that the losing teams are losers either, I mean they played a good game and did their best. As long as they put effort and heart into their game then HEY that still makes them a winner in my book even if they didn't officiallly win.
