Hanzo Komeiji It's the thought that counts though, right? Meh, I used to be hooked on FPS games, now i don't play them at all, i've found games more suited to my abilities. Yeah, sure. I dropped a nuclear bomb on you but I didn't mean it -- it's the thought that counts, right? xD Remember what Yoda said? "Do or do not, there is no try." TOUHOU FORTRESS! Starring Reisen? I don't think anybody wants to play a game where they shoot suppositories and where headshots mean nothing and buttshots mean everything. o.o;;;

How about if it becomes well-known enough for the majority of people to somewhat recognize it, whether or not they're a fan? That would be a good halfway point between the two.
On the topic of shooters, we need more customization in them. And we need a Touhou-esque, create your own character, movements, and projectiles with a power balancing system, in a 3D enironment...game. And your own stages.

That means that they know of it, yes and it means that most people have already established a stance on whether or not they like it. But people who like it probably won't stand for just vaguely knowing Touhou and actually learn about it. So that means most of the people who somewhat recognize it would not be fans of Touhou and they don't know it because they don't like it, either because they don't know it, or they don't know it because they don't like it. We don't need people who don't like Touhou to recognize it. xD
There are customization in shooters, though, none of which are really dumbed down to suit casual players, but they're out there.

Try the term "Schmup." They're different from Shooters. The game is fundamentally not a shooter. It's an adventure game. Yeah and it -can- be a shooter. Like Half-Life can be an RPG. Your point is...?

Eh well, I'd be satisfied with an official game that was something like Senko no Ronde, only with Touhou characters. Complete with a spellcard system in place of the BOSS system.
That would be nothing short of amazing.

I have no idea what what Senko no Ronde is.
But a simple explaination of what I mean would basically be the Touhou fighters with 3D movement, custom characters, and possibly infinite flying...and hovering.

Gundam: Encounters in Space was closer to what I mean. But there can't be a lock-on system. That takes half of the fun out of it.
