I really like Stephen King for the Dark Tower series, so I voted for him. Otherwise I read a lot of fantasy. Re-reading The Wheel of Time has been taking up most of my free time, lately.

heart TERRY PRATCHETT IS LOVE. heart
It's not just his hilarious style of writing that I love, but also the ideas that he presents in his books. Is it a bad thing that my personal philosophy and view of life is influenced so heavily by him? Because he says the most amazing stuff about human nature, what it means to be human, what is truly heroic...all this heavy stuff that you wouldn't expect fantasy/humor novels to deal with, and yet he does, in a very convincing way.
Of course, I'm also a lifelong Tolkien fan, and absolutely love both his elegant style of writing and the mindboggling detail of the world he created. 3nodding

--;According to all the people that met Prattchet said he was really boring and they were dissapointed. [: Tolkien is great, but I can never get into those darned books. They're so boring but so brilliant at the same time.+_]]
