Tihamah found herself feeling more than a little disturbed as she reached to top of the dune. Why could she not remember anything about being a kit? Dulcie's idea about someone maybe taking her to the meadow sparked a small memory of when she had first arrived. "I had come with two strange creatures; not namrah, but something different. Perhaps they led me there. When I get back, I think I will ask them." She squinted through the haze and thought she spotted a smudge in the distance that looked as though it could have been either an oasis or a village. Tihamah nudged Dulcie and pointed to it. "Want to head for that and hope it isn't a mirage?"

Dulcie nodded at Tihama's sudden realization, finding the idea that perhaps she had been somewhat right quite exciting. Then Tihama pointed out the smudge. Dulcie squinted to look at it. She couldn't tell what it was from so far away but it certainly looked interesting. "Well I don't see any harm in going." she replied with a light shrug and a smile.

"Then let's hurry, before it gets dark." Tihamah half ran, half tumbled down the dune, trying to keep the general direction clear while making as much haste as she could. She knew the desert loved to play with people's sight, and things that seemed close could be miles and miles away. She reall didn't want to be out here at night. It was really pretty, with no light to hinder the stars shining forth, but the night would really hamper their vision, and they would have to stop and wait for the sun to return. Time enough to observe the night when we get there, she thought. She topped the next dune and blew a breath from the side of her mouth in frustration. The smudge barely looked bigger. Still, she was bound and determined to reach it, so instead of bounding, she walked with a steady and deliberate pace, trying not to tire herself out before she got there.

Dulcie watched Tihamah for a moment, looked out at the image again, then realizing she was being left behind dashed down after her new friend. Being as fast as she was it didn't take long to catch up, however the sand provided for little traction making the run itself harder. Once she caught up she kept at Tihamah's pace, following obediently and trusting that she knew what they were doing.

Looking back a few times to make sure Dulcie was keeping up okay, Tihamah reached the top of yet another sand dune, and smiled as the dark blot formed into a square; it was starting to look like some sort of building. Maybe it was a palace, stuffed to the gills with treasure! Beaming, she kept going, looking back once at Dulcie. "It's getting closer; we're making good time!" ^^

Dulcie continued to follow keeping up quite well and smiling every time Tihamah would look back at her. She had made her way up the dune when she heard the news. "Awesome!" she replied looking down at the square blot. Her imagination could not contain itself. Excitedly she followed, squealing a little with glee.

The sun was slowly sinking in the west by the time the two had reached the blot, which turned out to be an ancient-looking palace, with walls that towered over their heads and towers that reached up to touch the sky with pointy tops colored all sorts of beautiful hues. Tihamah turned and looked over at Dulcie. "I think we ought to try and find a way in; a night in the desert wouldn't be as bad beside a building like this one, but it would still be nice if we could be sheltered somewhat."

Dulcie stared in awe at the ruins and the sky behind them. She'd officially decided then and there that the desert contained the most beautiful things she had ever seen. She looked back at Tihamah as she spoke and nodded. "Where should we start looking?" she asked.

"Around the building, I suppose; it's kinda hard to tell which end's the front when it's so huge, huh?" She began to trot off to the right, coming to a gigantic corner and going around it, where she stopped and stared, seemingly up. "Look Dulcie! Look!" Staring up at the sky, which was fast turning inky black now that the sun had gone down, millions of stars dotted the heavens, more than one could ever imagine were there. Here and there, shooting stars streaked across the blackness, and it seemed for an instant as though the sun setting had done little to diminish the actual light. In the very center of the massive wall, a set of double-doors that looked like it was dark green laced with gold designs like ivy was set into the wall. It seemed as though they had found the door.

Dulcie had started to go search the opposite side of the building when Tihamah called her over. She dashed thought the sand and stopped, looking at the massive doors in wonder. She had never seen anything like them before. Occasionally upon her staring one of the shooting stars would catch her eye and she'd become distracted, as was her nature, but overall she was ultimately captivated by the very large, very unique entry. "How do we open them?"

Tihamah walked slowly over to the doors, looking up at them until she nearly fell over. They seemed high and impenetrable; there didn't even see to be any knobs or handles. " I don't know...... it seems as though there's no way to open them. Maybe they only open from the inside." She walked up to one of the massive doors and put a paw on one. The door swung ajar with almost no sound, and a strange flowery smell drifted out and made Tihama's nose twitch. "That's strange......" She looked over at Dulcie. "What do you think? Should we go in? It seems odd that they would open just like that..."

Dulcie watched the colossal doors open with wide eyes. The entire thing just screamed adventure, danger, and excitement. She grinned widely, ready for anything at this point and completely prepared for the unknown. “I say we do it. Worst comes to worse I’ll think of something!” she reassured with her typical happy voice. She padded closer to the door, the lingering smell making her that much more sure they should go in if not just to go see what smelled so good. She stopped at the entry though and looked at Tihamah. “So whatta’ya say?”

Drawing strength from Dulcie's enthusiasm, Tihamah nodded and pushed the door open all the way, cringing slightly as she walked in, as if she expected something to jump out of the shadows and attack her. But as she opened her eyes, she gasped aloud at the scene that spread out before her. The brilliant desert stars were shining upon a garden, impossibly lush and green in spite of the desert outside. Flowers the likes of which she had never seen before and couldn't possibly name were blooming in beautiful and complex patterns, and just by glacing one could make out at least five arbors, draped invitingly with vines. Presumably at the other end of the garden, the palace reached up toward the sky, it's pointed tops almost seeming to glow. Tihamah found herself feeling a little nervous, now that she was getting over her initial awe. "This place looks like a rajah's private garden; he might not want us snooping around in it." oO

Dulcie stared in awe at the amazing sight of the inner castle. It was possibly the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Between the stars, the vivid colors, and the beautiful flowers she didn't know what to think. In Dulcie's mind she never wanted to leave. Never wanted anymore to see the humdrum meadow nor the dark inviting forests back home. This place, this inviting garden of eden, was just too much. But that was when Tihamah said something. Dulcie thought on the statement, but it's hard to think when you have no idea what someone's talking about. "What's a Rajah?" she asked curiously, "And it's not like we're going to hurt anything. Maybe just stay the night until we can continue with our exploring in the daylight." There was one thing that worried Dulcie, although she woud not admit it. Being the daughter of a pokemir, she had a power naturally. Unfortunately for them, this power was that of fire. What was even more unfortunate was that she wasn't in the absolute best control of it either. Sure she could control it far better than in the past, but it was still a rather risky thing to assume that she had total control.

Still unable to take her eyes off of the wondrous garden, Tihamah couldn't help but wonder how the owner could keep it so wonderfully green. There was so little water in the desert; unless they had another means of getting their water; an underground spring, or......what if it was magical? She had never had any trouble believing in magic, and if anything she had ever seen seemed the least bit magical, it was this place. "A rajah is......well, I guess he's like a king. This place sure seems like a king's palace, and they get really touchy when people trespass; you know, because of people like bandits always trying to steal their treasure, or they just get really touchy because they can. Still....." she shrugged, "It wouldn't be much of an adventure if we just turn back. Why don't we explore the garden then? Hopefully if there are any guards around, they won't be able to see us."
