Overlord of Night- Shadow

Honestly, it would take forever and a half to make just one sprite for one character in battle, you'd have to pretty much code the frames individually and it just gets. . . whoo. Way too much work to do. Although mamkutes technically can be done; just grab out a couple of animations and give them to the characters. I've got a hack where someone's done it in case you want to see, Vika. Problem would be that you still can't change the sprites. <.<
Yeah, I started on my own hack before. . . then I got lazy because I screwed up some of the pointers and then saved before I realized that, so I had to delete it and hadn't backed up for awhile. . . DD:

:: To tell you the truth, I've been thinking of something quite like this for a few days. I say go for it. It would get a lot of practice in and would be a lot of fun. The end result would be worthwhile to achieve as well. ::

Ganon Firenight Phazonite I just think that hawks were more like mercs/heroes than peg knights. Most of the laguz seemed more like classes that weren't mounted. That's true, but an important part of using hawks strategically is (1) avoiding bowmen and (2) flying over unwalkable terrain. How about modded Wyvern riders with swords instead of lances? And then Axes on promotion. Just seems more Hawkish to me.

Mewtation It's not just sprites; there's a whole slew of syntax around a given class and how it'd fit. The syntax for laguz transformation, summoning, and mamkute transformation isn't there, and unless you do a whole massive modification of the assembly code (the actual game engine) they're not going to. And as I said, only a select few even know what the hell they're doing there. I'm not one of them. Also, don't bother with custom battle sprites. Inserting custom battle sprites is a very fickle process, and even the pros aren't entirely sure how it works. Oh, wow. surprised I see.
Goodness, this is going to be a long and involved process! How long have you been coding for, Vika? surprised

How long have you been coding for, Vika? surprised I've been dabbling in FE ROM modification since...*checks thread on FEP* four months ago, I think. It's really not that difficult once you get the hang of it. There are just certain impossibilities you learn to avoid.

Woah, I've been forgetting to put things in ooc...))*nods* Yeah, I still have tutorials sitting around to do just about anything with an FE ROM, as well as pretty much every editing tool imaginable; I'm just too much of a lazy-a** to do anything with them. >.< Also I was having too much fun playing through other peoples' hacks. ^^ And isn't this pretty much an OOC thread anyway?

This sounds like a good idea. I am of the theif class just to let you know if you didn't already. You can get my mugshot in the OC thread in the introduction forum. As for the battle spirtes I'll get working on that.

Renault, I may come to you for advice. Thanks in advance. biggrin
Vaherianslyeri, certain people tell me you're thoroughly awesome at spritemaking. Your assistance may be required in mug-making. (If you do, talk to me about it; there's certain rules you have to follow to fit the GBA's limits.)
Luna, gotcha. I'll look for your mug.

I have a solution for Ninian and Nils. In FE4, Bards and Dancers could do damage. Dancers had swords, and Bards had anima magic. So, you can make Nils a mage-like class, but with Bard sprite, and Ninian like a myrmidon or thief, but with her sprite. Also, I can try to make Battle sprites. I don't know how to animate them, but I've been wanting to learn for a while. And if I can just make the normal sprites, then animating them is probably just sticking them all together, right?
tl;dr I wanna help with Battle Sprites, and Nils should be the group Mage, and Ninian should be a Myrmidon or thief, maybe. Or we can go with the first Ninian, then Nils thing. But, Anima users are few and far between in the event, by the looks of things...
Question: If Rei is the lord, what will happen when he disappears? And will there be multiple lords, like how there's Lyn, Hector, and Eliwood? Also, can you make custom classes, or is that too much trouble? And another! XD Can you insert special sprites for classes, like a not-Nergal battle Sprite for Madriana?

Well, I'm really crappy with sprites but in the actual making of the thing, I'm pretty good. And if you want I can supply you with some of the stuff I have. . . or links to where the really skilled people are, though you've probably already seen them.
Oh, cool. There's a whole board dedicated to it. ^^

Oh I had an idea for tactician's being playable characters. Do you think it would be possible to give them a permanent support effect? Like every ally unit in a 5 square radius gets a support bonus. (not as strong as actual supports) And then one of the tactician's could focus on offensive bonuses and the other defensive.
And we do have Soren so we're not entirely missing mages...
