He smiles licking her cheek as well. "I know, but I wanted to get the mud off you first." Nuzzles against her cheek gently with a smile. "We are safe for now."

She looked up to where they came in from, thunder flashing outside "I wonder how long it will last." she said, looking back to him and nuzzing him back.

He looks up as well, hearing thunder in the distance. "However long it lasts, we'll be safe. I promise." With that he places a paw across her shoulders in a comforting manner, feeling protective in a way.

She leaned her head on his shoulder and smiled "Alright." she said, closing her eyes and rubbing her head on his shoulder.

He smiles, happy she's relaxed, closing his eyes. He lays his head on the ground thinking to himself about the events of the day.

She curled up next to him, resting her head on her paws and smiling to herself. This last thing she expected to find yet there she was. She purred contently as she closed her eyes.

He smiles feeling her curl up next to him, wondering how this had ended up happening. He hadn't planned it...but not fighting it either. Hearing her pur warms his heart as he makes sure she is comfy, then relaxes.

She nestled her chin into her paws "I wonder if this is how mom felt when she met dad..." she thought, feeling herself drift off to sleep "I hope so..." she said softly and fell asleep next to him, her purr slowly quieting.

His smile grows a a little as she prepares for sleep. He keeps his paw across her shoulder upper back area offering warmth as the night air becomes chilly. He gently whispers to himself. "Whatever happens..." Once he says that he falls asleep as well.

As the night went on the storm slowly started to disapate, turning into a crisp and chilling breeze going across the plaines. The sun started to peer over the horizen, offering with it a little bit of warmth as it rose.

As the sun rises and it grows warmer his eyes open, slowly waking up. He yawns and looks over at her with a smile seeing his paw still over her. He remains quiet until she wakes not wanting to wake her.

The warm light slowly hits her eyes. She clinches them together, moving her head a bit so they're back in the shade. She stretched out her front paws, flexing her claws out and waving her tail.

He moves his paw standing up to stretch. Once again he yawns as he fixes his mane, dried mud stuck in several places. "Good morning Rose." Her smiles at warmly.

She opens her eyes and looks up at him "Good morning." she smiled and stood up, bits of dry mud cracking and chipping across her stomach. she sits on her hind legs and brushes at her belly with her paws, trying to get it all off.

He finishes with his mane. "Want some help? You have some on your head." He sits back, leaning closer to wipe the dried mud off with his paw, then licks her cheek gently.
