I've heard 2 theories.
The first and most widely known is that the world will end in 2012. As in human existance will be wiped out.
Then there is the idea that there will be a huge change in 2012 causing life to change dramatically.
I'm not sure which I believe, however ever since I was young I never thought I'd live to become an older adult. Not sure why that is, just have always thought that, and in 2012 I'll be 22. So if the humans do all die in 2012 it won't be a big shock for me when I kick the bucket.

I heard that it's based on the Mayan calandar and their predictions. I heard that it's the day the world might end, but if it doesn't it means the events of the Mayan calandar will start going backwards and repeat themselves and so on and so forth. I'm not sure if I'm getting it exactly or what, but that's just what somebody told me.

From what I have heard, now this is just what I have heard if I am wrong on this then I apologize.
There is a religious faction in the U.S. today that believes something along the lines of that December 21st, 2012 is the day the world will end.
The reason behind this is that the Mayan calender ends on that day. And according to what I've seen about this the Mayan calender has been pretty accurate, whether or not this is fact can be disputed I have seen no evidence on this.
My grandfather himself was a believer of this fact.
I have also heard a theory that it has something to do with the Crystal Skulls, yes they do exist they had a whole documentary on the Discovery channel about them(which I know doesn't make them real...but you get the idea, the world believes they exist).
Anyway I digress to my previous statement. It is widely believed that the 13 Crystals skulls must be returned to their original places before the aforementioned date to stop some type of the end of the world.
But this is just what I have heard.

I'm not going to say it won't happen. But i'm also not going to say it will. The mayan calendar doesn't exactly say this is the end of the world. Conmsidering the incomplete inscriptions and the significance of this date being unclear. The two proposed dates of the event known as the completion of the 13th b'ak'tun cycle is the 21st of december or the 23rd of december.

But this is just what I have heard. So THAT'S where they got the plot for the new Indiana Jones film from!! They finally give London the Olympics for 2012 and now the world's going to end.... The only thing that's special about 12/12/2012 is that it's the last day where the 3 numbers end the same for a long while. (1/1/01, 2/2/02.......and so on....)

Twi666 I thought that it was going to end this year on the 21 of December. At least, that's when this gigantic clock that the Aztecs/ Mayans/ Incas built is supposed to stop. Or was it in 2012? One of those years, anyway.

I don't really believe in those kinds of conspiracies. Especially the end of the world ones.
On 6/6/06, my math class tried to get out of a test on the basis that we wanted to die doing something better than a test. It didn't work.
After that, I lost all hope in the end of the world.

After that, I lost all hope in the end of the world. Nice try though, it probably wouldn't have worked at my school either... stare I was working that day, I remember talking to one of my friends whther she thought the world would end.....she hoped it did so her shift would end sooner! xd

dvn -camilla price- I would like to hear what many think may happen on that day. I have started to listen to a few 'Conspiritists'[sp?] and found that they have brought together many ideas and narrowed it to that day. I would like to have an intelligent non-argumentative discusion about this. I don't quite understand what may or may not happen, or how this even came about. I thought it was December 21, 2012 confused
I would like the world to end. The torture humans inflicted onto the planet is horrible. The planet can't hold on much longer because of human actions. Earth needs rest. It's either humans go, or Earth and humans, additional to all of the innocent animals out there.

If you have then it is what I believe might happen.... but in a more wide range of an Ice Age freezing the whole world once again. "p***k love for pricking, and you beat love down"
