Rocktalon padded over to Dawnflower. "Hello Dawnflower" she mewed. She noticed how much bigger the queen had gotten. "How are the kits coming along" she asked.

Greystar eyed Dawnflower concernedly from her place on highrock, debating on whether or not to bring her a piece of fresh-kill. She found no trouble in fetching her own food, however, and Greystar relaxed. The kits would be due soon; she could tell. Dawnflower's belly was beginning to swell immensely; she would need to spend more time in the nursery, with a bit of assistance from the apprentices. Greystar knew that Maplepaw and Marshpaw would be up to it; they were kind and thoughtful.
On that topic, Greystar should probably train Marshpaw up a bit; he hadn't been out in a while. She stole a glance at the formidable size of the fresh-kill pile, and decided they would go out for battle training. She would asess how his fighting skills were coming along. Jumping lightly from her perch, she raised her muzzle to taste the air. She caught his scent a bit too quickly; there weren't many to discern it from. Dawnflower's kits would be a very welcome addition to the Clan.
She decided to pay a visit to the expecting queen first, dipping her head as she approached. "Greetings Dawnflower, Rocktalon," she mewed formally, grey eyes friendly. "I can see the kits will be on their way very soon! You must be delighted, because I know that I surely am. We could use a few new faces." Her whiskers twitched in amusement, and she purred happily. "Have you thought about any names?" she inquired curiously.

Dawnflower dipped her head in respect to her leader. "Good morning Greystar, and Rocktalon. My kits are coming along fine. They will be healthy youngsters; a great addition to the clan!" she mewed boastfully. She looked up at Greystar who had her gray eyes fixed on Dawnflower. "I haven't really given any thought about names yet." she replied. She sat up, licking her paw, and swiping it over her ear.

Greystar's tail twitched in an affectionate manner, and her grey eyes softened. "The names will come when the kits arrive. I'm sure they'll be beautiful, healthy things. We have a wonderful Medicine Cat, and very able warriors and apprentices who I rely on to take care of you in your time of labor." She began to pad away, mewing a final word over her shoulder as she departed. "Farewell, Dawnflower, my queen. Call upon me if you should need anything."

Rocktalon nodded respectfully at Greystar as she padded off. She then turned to Dawnflower, "Should you need anything let me know." She then began to head toward the camp's entrance. Since we don't need any fresh-kill a walk around the territory should be fine.

"Thank you." Dawnflower mewed, even though Greystar and Rocktalon had already padded off. Dawnflower yawned and got up.
Perhaps I'll go back to the nursery. But it gets so boring in there! she thought.
She knew she had to do what was best for the kits. If they were going to be healthy, she would have to stay put. ShadowClan can't afford unhealthy kits! Dawnflower sighed and reluctantly padded into the nursery; glancing back to see the empty camp.

Rocktalon padded along the Thunderpath which marked the border with ThunderClan. "ThunderClan" she hissed. She scented the air and noticed a slightly faint smell of the cats. They must have been here recently, trying to take more land, no doubt. She decided not to risk meeting up with a patrol of ThunderClan cats. She could, of course, take on such a weak clan however she felt she should tell Greystar about the cats being so close to ShadowClan.
Rocktalon padded through the camp's entrance and went directly to Greystar's den. She mewed inside it, "Greystar?"

Inside the nusery, Dawnflower was prodding at her nest.
I'll have to remember to tell one of the apprentices to fetch me some new bedding...
Satisfied with her nest, Dawnflower circled around twice and settled down. She rested her head down on her paws and let her eyes close. Soon she was drifting into a peaceful, yet dreamless sleep.

Rocktalon padded over to Greystar. She nodded respectfully and mewed "I have scented ThunderClan near our borders." She let out a low hiss as she mentioned ThunderClan.

((I have an Apprentice in ThunderClan who toured the thunderpath border. I wouldn't put it past a ShadowClan cat to believe that it is too close to their border))
