Steve Vai especially when he is teamed up with Frank Zappa if not that then Joe Satriani, or Eric Clapton, or Eric Johnson.
I CAN't CHOOSE, ALL GOOD GUITARISTS.

Okay, I'm a bit angry at your dissing of Jimi Hendrix. Who, by the way, does NOT suck. As far as I know, he was straight.

I can't believe I just said that. Okay, onto the point:
Well, my favorite guitarist is the Japanese artist, Miyavi, even though he's technically not considered the best. I mean, check out the beginning of this MV:

HE'S MY IDOL! holly crap!!! lol Jimi Hendrix actually is very good guitarist he just has his own style Of course he does you dumb a**. All guitarists do. So what's your point? Jimi is very talented...though it's pretty dumb how he takes drugs. As if he's not happy of how good his life was. He knows his in and outs of guitars. He switched the pickups around...string...etc whatever since he was a lefty. It may not be too hard but He knows his guitar. He has talent. Not a stupid person. Also if you're sick of him. that goes to show of how talented he is since everyone talks about him...

If you've got a soul at all, give Armik a listen, it might change your life.
Stanley Jordan is practically the Victor Wooten of guitar. Honestly, listening to him I imagine that he's got ten fingers on his left hand and two brains.
Who else... I'm trying to think of someone more mainstream so I can relate to you guys, but there's nobody too fantabulous. xp

Slash - Power Rock Jason Becker - King of shred Dimebag - Metal Malcom Younge - Power Rock Rhythem guitarist Johney Ramone - Punk Rythem Guitarist Herman Li - Being an over-rated douche (That still has insane skill) Chet Atkins - Old Country Guitarist Brad Paisley - Current Country Guitarist And of coarse Santana - Latin Rocker

PunkRockFaces Well, my favorite guitarist is the Japanese artist, Miyavi, even though he's technically not considered the best. My favourite guitarists aren't technically the best either. if all the people would judge guitarists by the speed and all of course the favourite would be some kind of metal guitarist cause their solos are extremely fast.

Factoids If you've heard 3 (the band), you'll understand when I say their guitarist is full of win. I also have heard good stuff from Buckethead, but 3 wins. Wasn't Satch the guitarist for them? (Joe Satriani for those of you who don't get "Satch")
