"Sterling is a nice name. Oh, it does seem to suit you," she said, smiling in his direction. Although she didn't meet with others too often, she was rather enjoying the company. "You're right. I'm sure the Goddess Vesira would be much displeased if I did not see her, especially being this close to her temple. Luckily for you, I am actually on my way there. I was planning on resting a bit before presenting myself to the Goddess, but that-," she paused, almost snarling at Sterling, "-didn't happen, due to some disturbance."
Shayna smiled towards the female like herself, almost giddy because of her thoughts. She was most certainly right. The poor bewildered baddie before them was much lower than themselves. For a moment, she almost felt sorry for him. Or, maybe she did feel sorry for him, but she would rather not admit it. "So it is agreed that the temple is not far from here," she grinned, preparing to ask an obvious question. "Shall we travel together, seeing as we all seem to be heading there?"

Sterling grinned mischeviously. He was bringing two, not one, but two Zamphirs to the temple. How his luck had turned out like this, he would never know. "I think that is a splendid idea. The goddess would certainly be pleased." Sterling did wonder about the two Zamphir. They seemed to know things he did not, like they were engaging in some sort of secret conversation around him. But he didn't wonder about that too long. He was too focused on getting these two to the goddess, and thinking of the rewards he might recieve.
"Oh, but I failed to ask your names." Sterling said, looking at them both. "You must have lovely names, for you are both beautiful." Sterling attempted flattery, since it seemed to work with Vesira before. "Besides," he thought, "what woman doesn't like being flattered?"

Miseria smiled, this was splendid. The goddess would be pleased, but so would Miseria. She enjoyed the smell of fear and the tiny baddie, was bathed in the smell. Seeing her goddess was just a perk of this little adventure. Her voice was soft and smooth as she spoke.
"Indeed we should be going. Lead the way, seeing as you two seem to know where you are going."
Miseria knew very well where she was going but she wasn't going to let them know this.

Smiling at Sterling was her only way of hiding her laughter. She knew exactly what he was attempting to do, but was willing to go along with it. For the moment. "My name? Why, it's Shayna. I couldn't agree with you more that it's a lovely name," she cooed, hiding her true giggles on the inside. "And I'm glad you've noticed my beauty, Sterling. Slowly, she twirled a strand of his hair around her finger. Of course, she was quite amused at the baddie. And she knew the other Zamphir felt the same way, for it was written all over her thoughts.
Although the other female hid her emotions well, Shayna could only guess that she was feeling pretty content about this situation. The baddie was the only one seemingly uncomfortable, which Shayna hoped to change in due time. She didn't prefer upsetting others, no matter what their motives may be. "It seems only fair to us females that you, the complying male, lead the way to our Goddess's temple. You do want to follow her wishes, after all," she murmured while smirking.

The goddess chuckled, pleased with what she was hearing. "Their appearance is nigh," she cooed into the rafters at her many bat attendants, "we must make preparations!" She chuckled again at the pure absurdity of a goddess preparing for mortals' presences, but she shrugged. She would enjoy some company and some adoration, that much is certain. She rose elegantly from her throne and went into the area reserved for the beginning-level servants to her majesty and began working a little magic. In the center appeared a long table and a moment later there was a vast banquet with three places set. Nodding softly, pleased at her own handiwork, she turned back to await her guests from her throne, closing the door behind her as to not spoil her surprise.

Sterling didn't know what to think of these Zamphir. They were seductive, beautiful, and dangerous. "My kind of women." he thought to himself, grinning. The black and white one did frighten him a little, but that was only because he wasn't quite used to her yet. Shayna he was very intrigued by, as she seemed to care about what he thought of her, much unlike the other Zamphir. Sterling couldn't believe his luck. Not only would he be able to present to two to the goddess, but he got to lead them in! Surely the goddess would be pleased. "If that is what you wish, Shayna, then I will gladly do so." Sterling set a brisk pace towards the temple, not wanting to keep Vesira waiting.

Miseria smiled, and effortlessly matches is brisk pace, the temple came into sight and her eyes twinkled with something dark but happy. Her goddess was near, she could feel her power. Splendid, finally she would be given an opportunity to please someone other than her self. She followed happily, the smell of fear on the little baddie was, delicious. It made endorphins flow in her veins. She knew that at the very least her goddess would enjoy this delicacy when the little baddie walked in.

Shayna trotted along a little slower than her company. The power that was unmistakably coming from the temple ahead sent pleasant shivers down her spine. Each step filled her with such giddiness that she could barely control. Quietly, she covered her mouth to prohibit any giggles from escaping. 'Ah,' she thought to herself. 'A place in which I shall feel really at home.' Oh, what a great feeling she felt while getting nearer to their destination. Slowly, black marble could be see through the trees. "Our Goddess awaits us," she murmured, just loud enough for the other two to hear.

Sterling walked along the path, each step bringing them closer to their destination. Turning to the Zamphir whose name he did not know, he asked in an unusually polite voice, "I never discovered your name. Would you honor me with the knowledge of it?" Sterling, though now only uneasy around her, not frightened anymore, liked to know the names of the Faes he met.
After walking through the woods for a little while longer, Sterling walked up the steps of the temple, and lead the two Zamphir in. He walked to the altar, and waited for Vesira to appear as she usually did.

A flutter of wings and shrieks greeted the new guests to the temple as the goddess' many bat attendants poured out of her throne room and filled the air around the three with their flapping wings and flashing fangs. They settled up in the rafters after a few moments and stillness followed. The goddess appeared Before the altar, looking the newcomers up and down with interest. Gazing back at Sterling she smiled. "You have done well, young one! You have exceeded my expectations of you! I am quite pleased." She practically purred at him. "I believe you are quite devoted indeed, to confront such a powerful race as a zamphir. And TWO no less! For this, I award you with a new title. You are a whelp no longer! You may now take a room in the wing of the temple reserved for the Neophytes." She grinned at him. "Before you do, I invite you all to the Whelp's wing for a feast!" She gestured gracefully with her hand and the door to the wing opened before them, revealing the feast she had prepared. She looked to the zamphirs, sizing them up. From her fierce eyes she judged the black and white one to be the more dark of the two, and she eyed her appraisingly. She found both to be quite lovely, and looked forward to conversing with those she was charged with. "Tell me your names, young Zamphirs!"

Miseria looked at the baddie and said nothing, but instead followed and waited the arrival of her goddess. When she came into sight she smiled, and her bat Cantare chirped happily. She knelt down upon one knee before the goddess and bowed her head. Her voice was deep and smooth and seemed to echo like a dark sad song through the halls.
"I madam am Miseria and this is my faithful companion Cantare. We are here to serve you my lady."
The tiny bat on her shoulder too bowed his head in respect to the goddess.

Slightly shrugging her shoulders, Shayna followed Sterling up the stairs and inside the gorgeous structure before her. As soon as she did, she felt almost complete. Her eyes gazed around the temple, hungrily taking in all her surroundings. Oh, she knew for sure that she would enjoy herself here, if her Goddess allowed it.
When they arrived at the altar, she waited patiently until Vesira appeared. The moment she did, Shayna knelt down and also bowed her head. "Goddess Vesira," she almost cooed. "It is an honor to kneel before you, and in your temple, no less. I am Shayna, and this--," she pointed to her shoulder, "--is Sable, my partner and companion. We also are here to serve and worship you, Goddess." Sable fluttered his wings a little before resting peacefully again on her shoulder.

Sterling grinned when Vesira promoted him. He was glad to move out of the Whelp's quarters, the rooms were too tiny for his taste. He could tell that Vesira was very happy to have two of her Zamphirs here. He was beginning to understand this proud race, and began to relax a little more. Sterling listened to the Zamphir as they gave their names, and wondered why Miseria didn't tell him her name when he had asked for it. His thoughts wandered between the Zamphir around him and the feast yet to come.

A smile crept across her face as she gestured for Sterling to go partake of the feast that he had earned. She wished to see these two newcomers for a moment more. "Shayna... Miseria... such lovely names. Rise, young Miseria, and both of you look into my eyes. Show me respect in this manner, not with bowed heads. It's not befitting for a huntress to let her guard down in this manner." She approached the two gracefully and gently patted their bat companions each in turn. "They may find company with my many attendants." She gestured up into the rafters where the five bats still sat gazing downward. They burst into life, chirruping at the new little bats, welcoming them to the temple. Gazing back at her two disciples she seemed to ponder something. "I accept you both into this temple. Your rooms are there" -she gestured to the whelp's courters- "and you are welcome to enjoy the feast. Afterwards, I bid you each to go out and find a suitable offering to my altar. After this, I wish to speak with you in turn, alone." She was gone once more, in a blink, leaving behind her bat attendants as company for the newcomers.

Miseria looked at her goddess and smiled. Her eyes were the beauty Miseria had always heard of and she nodded in acknowledgment of her goddesses wishes. Cantare made soft sounds and leaned in to the touch of the goddess, relaxed in only a way he is with Miseria. He flew up to the rafters to join his companions, filling the air with his own joyful chirps. She made a slight bowing curtsy to Visera but this time not losing eye contact. As she watched the goddess leave she turned herself to leave. Her body ached for the food of the banquet but she felt her duty to be of greater importance. She moved swiftly to the alter room and swept quickly up the alter steps. Once before the table she knelt and slipped a delicate hand into her boot. She drew out a small package wrapped in worn white linen. When she unwrapped it she revealed a small black handled dagger in a worn leather sheath. She stood and laid it on the alter table, and caressed it lovingly. She spoke softly barely enough to be audible, "Your dream is fulfilled mother, grandmother. All those who came before me. I have completed our mission to make it to our temple and serve our goddess. Your deaths have not been in vain." She bowed again, then moved quickly to the banquet to finally give her body the nourishment it needed.
