goddess_of_music Kali-san goddess_of_music Kali-san BleedingCrescent where in the Bible does it say that a man could have 10 wives... how do you know that the "love of your life" truly loves you? he could be using you for your body. i''m not saying he is, and i''m sure he really loves you, but what if he was one of those guys who were like that? marriage is the ultimate declaration of marriage (although sometimes it doesn''t work that way... but it''s supposed to) having sex out of marriage is wrong and unpure. Just because they had the wives, doesn''t mean that God wanted them to have them. I mean, take Abraham for example. God told abraham that sarah would have a son. But, they got impatient, and Abraham took another wife, Hagar, and then, Ishmael was born. Ishmael wasn''t originally supossed to be born. But, abraham sinned, and Ishmael appeared. true very true. he sinned. BUT why would god put him in the bible then? i mean i dont get it. not that i am saying sinners cant be in the bible, for we are all sinners, but, what is the bible trying to say with these men who had many wives? why would that specifically be in the bible? I''m guessing that God was trying to prove a point. Another example is David and Bathsheba. David was at Jerusalem when he was supossed to be in the war, and while he was n the roof, he saw his little hottie crush bathsheba. The more he watched her, the more he wanted her. So, he slept with her. She got pregnant. He tried to get the real husband of her to sleep with her to make it seem like it belonged to the husband. The husband didn''t sleep with ehr. So, David, getting frustrated, finally set the plans that would cause the husbands death into motion. The husband died, and David took Bathsheba to be his wife. That was a tragic happening for such a great leader. eek eek eek really? wow........ I believe the child that came from that union died shortly after birth, but that may have been another one of David's children.

Morbid_ Emily Dragon Warrior X What are your views on premarital sex cause it seems a pretty common thing in todays culture but do you believe its wrong and people should wait untill marriage or do you believe something else? Share your views on this subject and why you believe that I think it's best to wait untill marriage. I agree, and my belief has started to take more foundation (if that makes sense). My boyfriend slept with two girls before he ever met me. Of course, my luck, I know both of them. Sometimes it just makes me sick thinking that they got to have something with him that I'm choosing to wait a few more years for. The whole kicker is we've been together almost 11 months whereas they were only together a month or so each. It's hard, and it's weird knowing these things, but I guess all you can do is deal with it. If we break up (and I hope we don't), I don't want to have put another mark on his record (and one on mine). Maybe you have other reasons for wanting to wait, but I still say it's a good idea.

I think that's important to wait until after marriage to have sex. Partially because of the bible and partially because it's practical.
Think of it from the nonreligious point of view: -A baby can be born even with protection *waves hand* That's how I came about -One parent might leave the family because of the kid(s) *waves hand again* That happened to me -STD's -How can you know you really love the person? -The next person you're in a relationship with (assuming you do in fact break up) after you've had sex will be unsure about you, trust me. I was in a relationship with a guy who had had sex and it was inevitably part of why I broke up with him.
Your virginity is sacred, whether you're religious or not, but especially for Christians. It's like, this one thing that you can give to your partner. It's like saying "I've waited my whole life for you to come to me."
Religious POV: -Sex is making a union between a man and a woman and part of the marriage that is making that couple whole and "one" -Marriage is making a proclamation to God that you are in love and will spend the rest of your life with that person. *Your body is God's temple, why would you want to defile it with something/someone that you have not lifted up before God? This fits here too... -How can you know you really love the person? Is it love or lust? *If love is awoken too soon it is lust (read Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry by Lisa Bevere), which is a reason to wait and not have sex while you are a teen.
I also think that dating as a teen is utterly pointless. It's different for everyone, but the way we do dating today is just so wrong. People date for the sake of dating and just because everyone else has a BF/GF and they want one too. You want that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from being "loved". None of it is real. Dating before the age of about 16 or so is stupid, because dating is for marriage. Do you really think that the relationship you start at 12, 13, 14, is going to last until you're 20, 25, 30, and want to get married?? It's possible that it can, but it's rare. Don't fall for such false finishes.
Again, read Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry by Lisa Bevere. It's a book for girls but there's also another one that I haven't read but have heard about for both sexes. I Kissed Dating Goodbye I don't know the author though.

If we break up (and I hope we don't), I don't want to have put another mark on his record (and one on mine). Maybe you have other reasons for wanting to wait, but I still say it's a good idea. You're pretty strong to do that..and well done for doing it.
and also....xion-dono Think of it from the nonreligious point of view: -A baby can be born even with protection *waves hand* That's how I came about -One parent might leave the family because of the kid(s) *waves hand again* That happened to me This happens a lot, today. It's not that I think pre-marital sex is wrong, just the possible consiquences. Even with the religious views aside, it's still important to be commited to your relationship before you do it. My parents rushed into it (by the looks of it), and unmarried, they had me. Their maggiage lasted mere years before a messy divorce. So, I suppose what I'm trying to say is that it's not necessarily pre-marital sex I'm scared of, but sex were there is no real, everlasting love. It's best to wait 'til marriage, as marriage is "proof" (in a way) of this love, but sex can also be this "proof", if approached in the right way. From a personal point of view, I want to wait 'til marriage, because I worry too much and I'm scared of things going wrong, but also because I see it as one of those little penances for God.. heart

Pre marital sex is a sin, I see it like that, but I don't look down at people who do it. Back then people didn't have to wait as long so it was easier back then.
