Kaok nodded, though her theory was along the same lines as Remus'.
She tried to direct her thought only at Emma. It isn't... you know... right?

My cycle? No, it's late this month...I seem to have skipped it. Emma shrugged noncommittally, pulling a chair out for herself and sitting quickly before the pain came again.
Hrothbert's brow furrowed as he looked down at her. There was something...off about her aura. Something had changed.

There seemed to be a bit of a silence. Remus didn't have anything to add, so he looked at the various plants around the large room, waiting for the silence to be broken.

A few slight suspicions arose, but Kaok quieted them all. Emma had already said that she didn't think it was possible. The awkward silence worried her for about a few more seconds before she tried some way - any way really - to break it.
"What sort of tea are we having today?"

"Green tea, something I picked up on a jaunt to Shanghai. I hope that's alright." The enchantress quickly busied herself with pouring four cups, taking one for herself and urging the others to sit down.
"Excuse me for a moment, there's something I need to check." Hrothbert excused himself, and a careful observer would have noticed him taking a strand of hair from where it stuck to Emma's back.

"Green tea will do fine."
Remus sat down, relieved that he was able to do so. He didn't notice Hrothbert take the strand of hair, nor did he find it unusual that he had to excuse himself. The Imperator's senses seemed a bit dull and his mind was elsewhere.

"Sounds wonderful." Kaok nodded, watching Hrothbert remove the hair. Her thought, though, was more along the lines of 'how adorable, he cares that much'.
She sat as well, next to Remus. The Faun took one of the cups and blew on it a little.

"I hope it's to your liking." Emma said quietly, watching her husband go. She shrugged, turning her features towards the sun. The warmth suffused her, seemingly smoothing out a few lines from her face and making the gray in her hair less pronounced.
Meanwhile, Hrothbert made his way down to the lab, pushing open the heavy, rune-carved door and making his way inside. He gathered a few ingredients together, setting a crucible over a flame.
There were a few tests that needed to be run on Emma's hair.

((-Sneaks over the sleeping girls and leaves a post-)) The Imperator also picked up a cup and blew on it, before taking a sip. He came back to reality, as the tea relaxed him enough to quit thinking about the stress that came with running the Empire.
"That's a city I haven't been to in a long time. In fact, the Bainbridge Estate is the only place I've visited during my last few trips to Earth."
But of course, no one else on Earth was a big fan of the Empire, not since Remus put a hole through Europe and turned the rest of the planet into a wasteland. That seemed like ages ago now.
((-Gropes boobs and quietly slips out the door-))

((-wakes up- oAo Wait. What.))
"I've never gone anywhere on Earth other than the Estate."
Kaok took a sip of her tea after a moment. She hadn't ever tried green before, and made a note to try and have some again. It was quite good.
"But I think I've had culture-shock enough for a lifetime already."

"I highly recommend the rest of the planet. You should see it." Emma winked conspiratorially at Kaok.
A possible honeymoon, or do you two already have a plan?

Hrothbert was slumped over the table, head in his hands. She wasn't ill, she wasn't under any sort of spell, but there was something off. He'd tested for every sort of enchantment and every sort of natural cause-
Save one.
Carefully taking another quarter-inch of the chestnut hair, the Lord of Bainbridge set about his final test, carefully hiding his nerves and expectation from the link.

"No, I don't think you do, Kaok. You've seen this planet from space. It's all an ugly brown and gray with murky oceans, save for this spot." Remus said.
"Not sure yet. I'd like someplace remote and almost deserted."

"Well, that was certainly a mixed response. Now I'm confused as to who to trust."
She took another sip as she pretended to ponder this.

Emma smirked over her tea. "You only say that because you haven't had the proper guide, Fletcher."
And then the emotional equivalent of a nuclear bomb went off inside Emma's skull. It was with a great feat of control that Emma's tea did not instantly explode into vapor, but the plants in the conservatory certainly reacted. The vines on the ceiling reached out tendrils towards their shaken mistress, who stood hastily, a hand already clutching her necklace. She wasn't receiving any response from the other side of her link, it was as if-she didn't want to think about it.
"Hrothbert of Bainbridge, I summon you."
They were old words, written in the vestiges of a binding spell that wound itself around the sorcerer's very soul. The summons (which had never before been used by Emma) was not a request. It was a command which had to be obeyed.
And obeyed it was.
The sorcerer appeared in a strangely frenetic flicker of silver-blue, unconscious on the floor, a crystal vial held loosely in his hand.
Emma's brain kicked into overdrive. She saw the hair in the vial, the ingredients that had gone into the test- And the result. The liquid inside the vial was a clear and vibrant red.
The enchantress knew very well what that meant.

Remus didn't understand. He sipped his tea, unsure of what to say.
