The short woman who had escorted John in the day before came to see that Dylan made it out alright. She didn't look human either. She was not innately beautiful, as Marienara and Sien were. She was short, with rosy cheeks and pointed ears. Other then those factors, she did not appear much different. Sien gently picked Marienara up and carried her to their room. Laying her on the bed, he kissed her forehead as she was already asleep.
"I will find them Mari, I promise."

Kayla was happy to have the little cat to play with. she played with him untill her mom made her go upstairs to do home work which she rushed through so that she could get back to the cat. mom what should we call him? i dont know darling. what do you want to call him? hmmmmmm i like the name Princey. you think thats a good name? it's wonderful darling Kayla continued to play with the cat untill she had to go to bed but before she did she set out another bowl of milk for the cat. goodnight Princey.

John got up in the middle of the night "huh?" he said grogly looking around"Oh i musta fell asleep"he said.so he put his insterment away went downs stairs eat a few cookies and fell alseep again

Marienara "Yes, but not much more then there was before," she said weakly, "Try your best to make sure no one finds out. The only ones who know are you, me, and Sien. If you encounter another fae, pretend that you don't know what they are. As if you see them like you did before. There is so much I want to tell you, but healing a mortal is not an easy thing. I need to sleep now. Since the security of my freehold has apperently been breached, I don't know what I can explain to you here. The best place for me to do it, I think, would be in your dreams. May I come speak to you there?" She was pale. Instead of the usually passive expression Sien normally wore, he showed one of intense worry. dylan had left the house telling her yes before he left he got home and went to bed

it was saturday and dylan didnt have anything else to do today so he called john
"Hey is this john?"

when Kayla woke up the next morning everyone else was asleep. she had had a dream where she still lived in California her father never died, her and her brother were friends and nothing was wrong. she decided to make a little of this dream come true. since she was the first one up she decided to make pancakes for everyone after petting and putting more milk in Princey's bowl. her mom and brother woke up when they smelt the pancakes and came downstairs to see a whole breakfast set out for them. Kay did you do thi for us? her mother asked. well i felt like doing something nice for you guys. Preston was silent and sat down to stuff his face with pancakes. honey its your birthday we should be doing this for you. well i dont mind i was in the mood for pancakes anyway. the three of them sat down to a pleasant breakfast together with no fighting but very little talking.

"Princey" had been in the house all night. Now, as the family was eating breakfast, he asked to go out. He had spoken to Sien the night before after everyone was sleeping and heard the news about Dylan. The prisoner hadn't been questioned yet, so there was no new information. Maybe they did see me, he thought. That would mean that they were just putting on a show when they left. Well, if it's the girl's birthday today, I should get her something. He had grown rather fond of Kayla in the days he had been watching over her. She reminded him a great deal of the little sister he had lost so many years ago.

After John was done talking to Dylan he chose to strech his legs and go outside and go eat some breakfast

the day had been ideal! Kayla spent the whole day with her family at a nearby amusement park. she and Preston never once fought or said anything mean to each other. it reminded them both of the time they went to Disneyland in California when they were little. they came home and had cake. while they were eating Princey wented to go outside so Kayla let him out. honey it's time for your presents! her mother called from the kitchen. okay who's is first? open mine first! Preston said with alittle enthusiasum. Kayla took the box and ripped off the wrapping paper. inside was a gift card to her favorite store Charlette Rouse and a note: Kay i truly am sorry for all the things ive done. your a real good little sister for putting up with me all the time. Love Preston. this little note was all she wanted for her birthday. she got up and hugged her older brother and though at first he was surprised he hugged back. KAyla was even happier when she opened her mothers gift. it was blue necklace with a little silver trombone on it. i'll wear this necklace and keep in mind this note with me everyday.

since Kayla had nothing to do for the rest of the day she decided to call Marienara just to see how she was doing and what was up with the band thing she had talked about

Remus, "Princey" had discovered that Kayla liked books, fantasy seemed to be her favorite. He went to the nearby bookstore and took a look around. He knew that she liked Inkhart, as it was well read, but the store didn't have any collector's editions he could get for her. It was a rare and used bookstore though. He found several of the Oz chronicles in remarkable condition. They all had color pictures and were from some of the first printings about one hundred years ago. He spent his entire month's pay on them. They are going to be feeding me after all, and her Grace wouldn't mind. He had them gift wrapped and walked back over to Kayla's house. It was only the first seven books, and he was sad he didn't find the other fourteen, but he hoped she would like it anyway. A bit timidly, he knocked on the door.
