"Ah." In all reality, she had just sort of sat in one place for a while, pretending to read a book and act like she was interested in something at least. She wasn't depressed, just... taking a day or two to recover.
"Spent the day relaxing."

There was another humming as another vehicle landed outside next to the dropship that Kaok arrived in. It wasn't long before Remus entered the Estate. He had some business to clear up and that was one reason why he didn't come in the same ship as Kaok. He kept a slight distance away from the mirrors, however.
"Sorry...the guy Evros was renting the building from was threatening to go to the media if he didn't get more compensation money. Luckily, I found a way to shut him up, hur hur." Remus' chuckle was a little unsettling.

"Good. Heaven knows you need it." Emma said with all sincerity, ushering the Faun past the gates and into the atrium and beckoning Remus after her. "I thought we could take advantage of the weather, if that's alright with you." She was leading the Faun and Imperator up a series of spiraling stone steps, into a burst of dazzling sunlight.
This had been a new addition to the Estate.
Wall-to-wall windows were the conservatory's greatest asset, despite the fact that some of them were covered in trailing vines. A high ceiling was also marked by creepers and hanging flowers that were most certainly not native to the region. A few orchids bloomed in one corner, directly across from several tall stalks of papyrus. There was a table and a few chairs in the middle of the room, already set for tea.

"A non-lethal and peaceful way to shut him up?" Kaok raised her eyebrows. The man did get stuck with an awful mess to clean up - there was a lot of blood left all over the place. And the basement? Probably never going to be clean again.
Kaok nodded to Emma. "Of course."
The room was quite amazing. All of the flowers sort of made her feel at home again - the good parts of home, without the people. She tried to identify all of the species of plant there, but some Earth vegetation wasn't terribly familiar to her.

"Oh he's fine. All I did was send him a letter in the mail." Remus paused for a second to chuckle again. "He's going on a nice vacation." The Imperator looked at the conservatory, and decided that this would be a good idea to change to subject before Kaok got too inquisitive.
"Wow...you two have really outdone yourselves. This is absolutely beautiful!" Remus marveled.

"Thank you. Feel free to look around, just don't touch the roses in that corner." Emma gestured, grinning broadly. "Hrothbert's been experimenting and they've got the most powerful aphrodisiac I've ever seen in the thorns. Blasted mad sorcerer used it on me...though I can't say I regret the effects."
There was a strange growling noise from behind a oak door in a corner of the conservatory.
"The more dangerous experiments are in there."

((Gah. Gotta go for a little bit.))
... Vacation, of course. But Kaok forgot about it for the time being.
She had resolved to go near neither the door nor the roses, but did admire nearly everything else.
"It is quite wonderful. How long did it take the two of you to do this?"

The Imperator wondered if he could try and steal some of the roses before leaving. The growling noises unnerved him a bit, and it didn't cross his mind that the he had scientists working on new vehicles and military weapons that could probably be just as terrifying in some ways.

The oak door flew open as a tall figure raced out, slamming it behind him. "Well, at least we know it's sentient, if a little aggressive-oh."
Hrothbert had discarded his usual Victorian attire for something more suited to manual labor; a plain white shirt with a few buttons undone at the throat (which Emma was clearly pleased about) and tan breeches, coupled with boots of a lighter leather. He was holding a pair of reading glasses that something had rent beyond repair.

Kaok startled at the sudden bit of action, but settled down quickly.
"Lord Bainbridge." She greeted as she bowed slightly.

Remus raised a brow at first, but then he remembered his manners and also bowed politely.
"Lord Hrothbert."

The sorcerer bowed back to both of them, storing the twisted glass and metal in a pocket. "As I've said, Imperator, the title is completely unnecessary."
Emma felt the rush of guilt through their link. He was still uneasy around them after the events in Evros' lab. The enchantress' expression grew sad even as another rush of cramps wracked her lower abdomen. She winced, trying to cover her pain.

Thank you for your advice, sir. About... you know. Kaok directed at Hrothbert, just remembering.
The Faun turned to the Enchantress, having noticed the elf-woman wince out of the corner of her eye. "Emma, are you alright?"

You're welcome. I only regret that the occasion arose when I had to give that advice.
Emma nodded reassuringly. "Just cramps, nothing out of the ordinary."
Hrothbert's face told a different story as he looked at his wife with concern.

"I'm sure some tea will ease the pain some." Remus suggested. He didn't think much of it, as cramps happened to everyone on occasion. It could have been that time of the month, but he wasn't about to ask. That would have been a rather awkward question.
