She was greeted by the sight of a slightly older man with dark hair, wearing a long white lab coat. He was talking with the receptionist while looking flipping through notes on a clipboard when the young Native American woman walked in.
Glancing up, he smiled at her.
"Ah, are you miss... Err... I'm not entirely sure how to pronounce it... Aghanashini?" He said, carefully sounding out her name from his papers on the clipboard.

She smiled warmly and offered her hand to the man while holding her stuff under her other arm. "That's close enough, you can call me Shini its a lot easier I know!" Shini's face was still and calm and with her beaming smile it made her seem radiant friendly and warm. A very approachable atmosphere surrounded the young woman. "I came hoping I could help some young women with a few special stress issues. Very curious on what kind of stress a lab will put on a group of women. If I were a conspiracy theorist I might think you're using these poor women to twist the very laws of nature! Thank goodness I'm a head shrinker instead!"
"Their issues are indeed very unusual. They ah... well, let's do the interview first, shall we?"
The Scientist led Shini to his office where he talked with her for a while. It was an unusually long interview, she found, as the scientist was very particular is hearing about her thoughts and what she found interesting.
Finally he picked up his clipboard and looked it over, adjusting his glasses.
"You are a very good candidate Miss Shini. I'd like to offer you the position. When are you free to start?"

"Well my patients aren't taking a break from their stress right now right? So why should I? I can start right now if you want." Shini was looking around as if expecting to see a line of manic-depressive women forming for her on the spot.
The scientist laughed. "Indeed. Well, let me show you to the lab... This project is highly unusual, and while the women haven't shown signs of stress yet, it is always good to have someone on hand to help if something does come up. They're all relatively friendly from what I've seen."
He left the clipboard on his desk and got up, gesturing for her to follow. He started to lead Shini through the halls of the massive lab.
On their way through the lab, they eventually walked through a hallway, and one wall was entirely made of glass. It looked over what was once a courtyard... but the ground was hidden by tall dark shapes that to her look kind of like jungle trees. The tops of the dark leafy shapes seemed to be slightly above their level... it almost looked like they were walking past a small hunk of amazon rainforest...

((*does a double-take* Am I seeing things? Does that say Gyzvx is in here? I think I'm seeing things...cat_surprised))
Shini looked out into the glass area with more than a little interest but lacking any context as to the nature of the science projects done here she began with a simple question. "So, what's up with the incredibly elaborate recreation of the jungles from Indiana jones?" she asked with a slight rhythmic laugh under her words. It was meant to convey a playful tone to the line of questions.
"Err, yeah, about that..." The scientist looked kind of nervous. "Well, it's for Project Mythos. I'll let the Head Scientist fill you in on the details when you meet her."
Eventually they reached a door not too far from the end of the glass walls, and he knocked on it. "Head Scientist!"
~~~
Finita had been listening carefully, taking notes upon the events. Gorgons were able to turn creatures into different types of stone? Fascinating. And Fae could call up that kind of power? Storms and tidal waves? It was still all sad, but the information she was gleaning was a massive amount.
Glancing up she head a knock on the door. She quickly placed her hand on the book, distracting the fox from her reading just as she finished describing the fate of the Fay.
Hold on for a second Silvia.
I glanced up at her and nodded, letting the glow of my eyes fade back to normal color.
~~~
The Hallways was quiet for a long moment before there was a loud Thud on the other side of the door.
The door opened and out peered a very large woman who had to stoop to step through. She was very tall, her head almost brushing the ceiling, wearing a white scale mail lab coat with comfortable clothes underneath, though the most noticeable thing about her was her slightly wide, almost bovine looking features, the two bull horns on her head, her floppy cow ears and her long mane. Her ears wiggled as she looked to the black haired scientist.
Yes?
"Meet Aghanashini, or Shini for short."
Finita looked to Shini and smiled in a friendly manner. Ah! You must be the Psycology specialist I asked for. She held out a big four fingered hand out to shake. I am Finita Vyne, head scientist of Project Mythos. I welcome you to the team!

Shini looked at Finita closely. Laughed hard and then ... fainted.
As she lay there still as stone a strange song and the low sound of rolling thunder haunted her dreams...
Fininta blinked, then stepped forward and helped the black haired scientist catch the woman before she fell to the floor. The scientist looked up at Finita.
Well, she said with an awkward chuckle. I can't say I'm surprised. At least she didn't scream.... I am surprised that she is the first to faint tho...
"Can you handle her Head Scientist?"
Finita nodded before gently picking the woman up in her arms, before carefully squeezing through the door. She headed to a corner and set Shini down carefully.
Silvia! She called. Take a break from reading while I order us all some food. She said. I'll order you sushi. Just, you're the most human out of all of us, keep an eye on her, will you?
I stood from my seat and left the book on the table, before heading over to sit next to the unconscious Native American woman. I flipped out my phone and started to play a game on it while I kept an eye on her...
Once Finita was assured that I would look after her, she walked over to the others.
Okay guys, what are you craving? Money is no expense.

Helena found her thoughts beginning to drift and she realised her eyes had become half-lidded, nearly closed. Her lips were slightly parted in a sleepy 'o'. Shaking her head, she closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them slowly, blinking several times more and flicking some of her long hair back over her shoulder. Wake up! Snap out of it. She shivered more noticeably by this point but forced herself to suppress them as best she could. 'Why am I getting so sleepy? I slept well last night. Maybe everything has caught up to me.' But none of the other women were falling asleep where they sat.
"Um, I would like something to warm me up, if it's not too much trouble. I have a craving for a nice curry with rice. I take it medium spicy" she said, placing her order. "And some apple tea to go with that or if you can't find any, just green tea thanks" Helena knew the sweet tea would be bad for her teeth, but it just seemed to balance the flavour she imagined for the curry. She didn't ask about what transpired with the young woman Finita had carried in, there was too much else going on and Helena was already feeling exhausted.
Ratchet couldn't help but feel sorry for the fairy, as well as the Gorgons. Sure he was afraid of snakes, though the fate of the creatures was all terrible. He was about to speak when suddenly someone called for the Head Scientist. Looking up as his Minotaur friend stood up and rushed out of the room.
Looking around the room at everyone he noticed Helena was shivering. Concern filled his heart so the scientist walked over to her and softly touched her forehead. She was freezing cold, that wasn't good. "Oh my gosh, you're freezing cold! Why didn't you say something?" he asked with concern. Snakes weren't very good in the cold. Smiling kindly at the snake woman, he took off his lab coat and draped it around her shoulders.
His fear for snakes sort of vanished and instead he looked at her shaded eyes for a moment. They were pretty but no doubt could turn you to stone instantly. He was glad they were covered. Ratchet smiled softly when she mentioned something warm to drink and, or, eat. "I can make you something warm to drink if you'd like. Do you drink coffee Mrs. Helena? We have other warm drinks available too, like hot cocoa and such. Just let me know alright, my name is Ratchet Clemetts and I'm here for you as well. Don't be shy to ask a scientist if you need anything. We're here to make your life comfortable and make sure you adjust to your true form smoothly." he reassured her shoulder softly.
It was then he remembered something and began to search the cabinets for a small plug in heater. Finding it, he moved it to where Helena was sitting, plugged it in, and hoped that the somewhat warm air coming from it would help. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Alex didn't know what to say, who would hurt little fairies? As he watched Helena give Olivia a tissue he laughed as the little fairy blew her nose, but jumped when suddenly she clinged to his arm after hearing what happened to her race. She was balling now and he was sort of caught off guard staring awkwardly at the small fairy rubbing her snot nose all over his lab coat's sleeve.
"Lexxxyyy!!! These stories are so saaaaaad!!" he moaned like a little child. "Please make them stooop!!" her tender little heart was breaking. Fairy were happy people, so sadness was hard for them.
"Uhh..."Lexy? I'm not a woman in case you noticed!" he replied sort of dumbfounded.
"Oh quiet Lexy!! I need a shoulder now!! You are the nearest silly boy!" she grumbled looking up at him cutely, her large child-like eyes were filled with tears.
Frowning Alex smiled softly to her and gently pat her head with one of his fingers. "It's alright, the scary stories have stopped for now. You need to be brave though and listen to them all. You're a flourist right? I'm sure you've dealt with your own problems?"
Shaking her head she wiped her eyes and flew up to sit on his shoulder and leaned against his cheek. "Nothing like this...though my workers and customers will need me eventually. Oh my are they going to freak when they see me. If only I had the power to change shape like Silvia, of course my wings would get in the way." she replied sounding all mature like she had been before.
Alex blushed shyly and smiled at Silvia. "How long ago have we all eaten? Maybe we should take a break and get something to eat? By the way Miss Silvia, are you feeling alright? You look a little pale...." Alex stated with concern as he took notice of how worn out and sluggish the fox woman looked.

(Alrighty I'm back in action!)
Estelle smiled lightly as Helena agreed,, once she took her seat Estelle's stony hand reached up and let one of the Gorgon's tendrils hiss at her for a second before it sensed the dwarf meant no harm and it extended itself to wrap around Estelle's fingers. Smiling she let it go and took her place in a seat around where the other women were.
As she looked towards the others around her, from Sylvia to Alex, to Finita she felt comforted, though something was bothering her. The runes she had seen earlier, were only for a split second or two but now it seems that was all she could see. Not a moment before Estelle could see light, colour, and depth but now all she could see, were those symbols. No light, nor anything else but those strange arcane characters.
She felt droplets of water on her, she looked up and saw the characters for “poison” and it almost felt like something was boiling on her skin but it wasn't that at all.
Not saying anything she listened to the story of Sylvia describing her own race. To which the recollection was almost a picture burning itself into her mind describing a catacylsm that happened many centuries ago. The very word of magic making the girl shiver slightly again.
“Aye...history can be a horrid thin to listen to, but if we all listen, it cann't be repeated.” Estelle replied to Helena. “Almost makes me wonder, what happened to us...” the dwarf muttered.
When Finita spoke up about cravings the dwarf spoke up. “Ah'll take the finest whisky ye can find losts of it. I'm parched and if I could turn water to wine, Cecelia would be flopping in her tank!”
Cecelia piped up. "More Crab for me please! Ohh, and Salmon too!"
Salmon and Crab for the Siren...scribble scribble scribble. Curry and rice, medium spicy for the Gorgon, with Apple tea...scribble scribble scribble.Lots of strong whiskey for the dwarf. I myself will have... Hmmm... Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with a Ceaser Salad.
Looking at the list, her ears wiggled.
Alex? Ratchet? Olivia? Want anything to eat?
~~~
I meanwhile had gotten bored of my phone (as I usually do) and was now fanning the unconscious young woman who had fainted at the sight of Finita. I heard someone address me, and I turned and looked to see it was Alex.
Reading that book takes a lot out of me. I said. I am not merely reading; I am experiencing the Traveler's life through her eyes. When she was playing with the Fey, so was I. When she was singing for the siren children, so was I. When she was watching the Gorgon queen get struck down, when she was being swept away by a freezing cold tidal wave, when she fled from the Misty forests of bamboo, so was I. I have reacted worse to the book though... I'm doing fairly well for the moment.
