Hazelpaw finished the mouse and licked her lips. Then she looked up at Hawkpaw and Lightface. "Don't worry about me, Hawkpaw, Lightface. I'll be okay. I think I just need some rest. I'm sure someone else could use your help more than me."

Nightmare Giraffe ((Sorry about not posting for so long, I suppose I could say I was busy, but then I would be lieing. I was lazy. Sorry.))
Dragoneyes looked up. "Yes Smallstar?" she meowed, looking at the tom who was her leader. "Did you need me?"
Dragoneyes looked down at Smallstar's leg, then back at his face. "Are you going hunting? Because I don't think that would be a very good idea, especially on that leg. You should rest." Normally Dragoneyes would never question her leader, but this was one time enough was enough. The Clan came first, and Smallstar was not going to harm himself just to get some prey when there were able warriors. Smallstar sighed. They were right. "Go on, then," he said to Lightpaw, shaking it off. After making sure she was out of earshot, he turned back to Dragoneyes. "This might be soon after the loss of Minxpaw," he started, hoping that she had somewhat recovered from the loss of her apprentice, "but seeing that Hazelpaw has no mentor after her previous one died, I think it would be best if you took over her apprenticeship. It might be a lot though, since you might have to go out with Lightpaw while I am..." he searched for the right word. "Inactive." He said.
Smallstar turned his head to look up at the sky, which was a cold gray-white. He hated that color.

Lightface looked at Hazelpaw, a bit confused. "Um, no. You're the same as all the other appreniteces." Seeing it might be insulting, she added, "You're not inferior. You deserve as much care as Smallstar does when he gets a fever."

Hazelpaw needed to accept the fact that Lighface was right. She had to convince herself that she is just as important as the great Smallstar himself. "Thank you, Lightface." she mewed quietly. Then she slowly drifted into a much needed rest.

Hawkpaw watched Hazelpaw for a moment, before looking up at the sky. How beautiful he thought to himself, he loved the light gray colored sky.

Smallstar started to clean hiss pelt. He hadn't cleaned it because of all of the commotion of the past few days.

Lightface looked up. "Uh, Hawkpaw? could you make sure Smallstar hasn't done anything to injure his leg further? If he protests, just tell him that his leg will forever be broken if he does anything crazy." She nudged Hawkpaw forward. "I'll stay here with Hazelpaw. Getting a fever in leaf-bare isn't particulary good."

Dragoneyes cocked her head. "Do you really think so little of me, Smallstar? Of course I will take Hazelpaw as my apprentice. And I will also help with Lightpaw." Dragoneyes nodded. "Yes, that is what I will do."
She turned to follow Lightpaw.

Lightface sat down a little whiles off. "Feel a little better, Hazelpaw? Leaf-bare is harsh, and I don't want a simple fever to turn into something worse." She glanced outside. "And with Smallstar being who he is, I'll have to keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn't try to go hunting or something." She laughed. "And with him not being able to hunt, we'll need to make up prey."

Hazelpaw nodded. "I think I'll be okay, Lightface. Thank you." she mewed. She knew that she needed to get better as fast as possible, because Smallstar was injured. "If I need anything, I can always ask Hawkpaw. You should go and check on Smallstar. I won't go anywhere." she promised and put her head back on her paws.

Lightface hesitated, but mewed to Hazelpaw, "No. Hawkpaw's capable of looking over Smallstar. After all, Smallstar's not bleeding to death right now." She groomed her paw. "Anyway, I don't have to do much right now. Stay in my den and count my herbs." She shrugged. "In some ways, I feel like I could do more to help WindClan, rather than sitting in here and being a lump, only getting up when someone has a thorn in her or his paw..." She smiled. "But, I do feel helpful when something like a dog pack or an invasion happens. Though it's torture sitting in here not knowing who lives or dies."

Hazelpaw lifted her head. "What are you talking about?" she mewed. "Without a medicine cat, this clan wouldn't be able to survive. You and Hawkpaw are the only cats in this clan capable of knowing what herbs to give us. I mean, we all know some herbs, but not enough. Lightface, you may not think so, but you are doing just as much work as any other warrior." Hazelpaw got up slowly and licked her paw, satisfied with how she handled that. Hazelpaw may be just an apprentice, but she knew that Lightface and Hawkpaw were two important cats in this clan.

Lightface had to smile. "Some days, I think we do. But every medicine cat thinks once in a while that one of the warriors will be able to remember all of the herbs. But, with all the duties warriors have to do, I know they couldn't remember all of them." She purred.

Hazelpaw purred with Lightface. Then she took a deep breath. "Ah-choo!" she sneezed, clenching her claws into the ground. Then she looked up to Lightface, eyes troubled. "Uh-oh, I'm not catching anything, am I Lightface?" she asked her, hoping the answer was no.
