Thinking of making it even better.
Albinism. A side effect of the darkness, Wraith becomes albino, needing the shadows to be comfortable and protected. That lead to his being singled out and in an 'accident' that turned him against humanity and left him with a club leg. He has lost all feeling/control of his left leg, and has to use puppetry to walk/stand/move.
Yes. I like this.
What about your character? Any ideas come up for you?

Ah, very nice. Accelerator in the Index/Railgun series is essentially albino for a similar reason.
I got involved in a game of 3.5 (we're trying out PathFinder, but it's extremely similar) again, so I haven't thought about Scry for a little while. sweatdrop

Fair enough. As we had discussed, I like the idea of having defects. Weaknesses make for interesting character development. I have been thinking of saying he was an advocate for equal rights, not seeing the difference between recombinants and baseline humans. Then, his power began to manifest as his skin paled. Defending a recom with minimal powers, he was severely beaten, his back beaten until his sciatic nerve was severed in his lower back leading to the left leg. That makes the leg both numb and lame- ultimately atrophy. It also soured his feelings. No longer willing to see both sides . . . he became Wraith, and sees his crusade for Recom power as a righteous battle.
Yeah, this backstory seems enough Magneto to be fun- but different enough to be unique. No Nazis, just bigoted rednecks.
I hope your game goes well . . . gods knows I wish I had a game.

Yes, I heartily agree with that notion.
That sounds like a solid back story.
I spoke to my DM. Our current game is being done through Gaia PM (IMing combat for sake of speed when necessary). It moves pretty quickly considering our schedules match up, and the party is already set in stone. However, he did say he would be willing to run a game with you. You could GM if you wanted to instead. My DM and I are both familiar with 3.5 and PathFinder (which runs on the OGL d20 system, so nearly the same mechanically). We could run it through PMing around or in a dedicated topic in the RPR. We do use the honor system for rolls, but we could use the forum's dice roller if we were doing it in a topic if you prefer it. The rate of posting would probably be once per day (and of course, RL gets in the way some days), since I know you're busy and our schedules don't match up all the time. We have a handful of house rules, but they're pretty standard and simple. So, are you at all interested?

I will bear that in mind, my friend. I certainly do not wish to run . . . those places and games under my perview seem to die. crying
For now, my two bits were just sent into the REcombinant RP, so we shall see where that leads. Unfortunately, dice and paper mechanics are VERY rusty with me, and what you list sounds almost more like gobbeldygook than a game to me. sweatdrop

That's perfectly fine. The offer's open for the forseeable future.
Ah, I didn't realize you were that rusty, hence why I didn't hold back on jargon. sweatdrop If you want to read up, we only use the core mechanics of the games: 3.5: www.d20srd.org Pathfinder: paizo.com/prd/

Sorry old friend. I have not played regularly in 12 years . . . have not played at all in several. Between online and school, I just have not had a lot of free time.

Yeah, my creative energies are circling around Wraith now. Applications for power, ways he can be dealt with, moves, countermoves, etc.

It's understandable. You can only be involved in so many things at once, after all.
Sweet dragon in your avi, btw.

Thank you . . . his name is Fafnir, and was more than a trifle expensive to get a hold of. I would like to collect all the dragons like him, but each is exorbitantly pricey. Having him is enough, though. whee

As unpatriotic as it sounds . . . Just another day to me. sweatdrop
Yeah, I had to do a lot of saving and selling of items to get my hands on Fafnir.
Now I am just waiting for things. Waiting for student loans to come through. Waiting for toys to be released. Waiting for money to come in enough to get another one. Waiting for the Recombinant RP to move.

I didn't really do anything to celebrate either.
The joys of forced delayed gratification... My new compy got a little delays, so I'm in the waiting boat, too.
