Mooby the Golden Sock

Returning to the desolate desert, the tattered remains of what once was. Another chapter of a book that should have ended years ago. Like a zombie risen from the grave, it isn't of this world. Or maybe a mutant spun off from the original. Either way, the life is gone. It's out of place. Shoot it in the head. Watch it die again. It's better that way.

Looking back at the memories. How exciting! How fresh! Not then. Back then it was just one of many. Boring. Dull. Uninspired. But today it shines out like a light in the tunnel. What's missing today, that yesterday's monotony is today's genius? Forget the present, turn back to the past. It's better that way.

Didn't we see this before? The same progress that others made thousands of years ago? Fixing problems fixed in societies past? New gadgets to do the same work less efficiently, only to breed newer gadgets to do less faster? Is today's progress nothing more than yesterday's forgotten memories? Throw the past away, and look to the future. It's better that way.

A thread bumped six months forgotten. None of the wit that was before. Boring, serious introspection. Preaching to the remnants of the remnants that were around in times long forgotten. Is this the tattered remains of former glory, alienated in the world? Will the mediocre old posts be classics? Is this just the same crap we heard before, reposted via selective memory? Close the window. Let this thread die. It's better that way.

Apparently my little thread has attracted some attention. I've drawn the notice of some major corporations, and let's just say that all my hard work is finally paying off!

Don't worry, though. This is still the same old thread, with the only change for now being a few barely noticeable ads. That's a small price to pay for the big improvement we'll be making once the first check rolls in: we'll be souping up with 3D text, bright new colors, and loads of other things to put the starch back in yer kilt! So be prepared to catch the wave, because soon this thread will be everywhere you want to be!

Anyways, on to today's topic. You see, this recent press has gotten me to think about what this thread really means. I've come to the conclusion that there's an "A" in its name, and "A" quality in our product that will put "A" smile on your face with every bite of knowledge. And that, my friends, means a lot. When you leave your inhibitions at the door, it becomes time to just do it.

Anyways, I guess that's all I have to say for today. Until next time, try to reach inside and taste the rainbow of your soul to find your true self. Remember, when life gives you lemons, make it Mike's. And whatever you do, no matter where you go, remember to tell yourself, "I'm loving it."

It takes about 8 minutes for the light from the sun to reach the Earth. If you learned that the sun had suddenly turned off, how would you spend the next 8 minutes?

That's easy. I'd drive to the nearest convenience store.

No, no, it doesn't end after 8 minutes. That's when we lose light. Sure, it'll get cold real fast, but we can have some in the dark antics before all that.

It'd be a few months to years before we ran out of energy/food and mass hysteria set in. But we're focusing on the light.

I'd probably spend it indoors watching tv.

I'd be constantly refreshing my LJ friendslist to see who was being affected and how.

But now, how would you spend your last few hours?
