"Hey!!" Emily said when he ruffled her hair.
It made her feel like a small child comapred to him. yet she had no time to think as she nudged Apollo into a full blown gallop. A smile managed to make its way to her lips as they caught up to Keith and B.

"Maybe," said Roman casually. "If he's not, I'll go visit him later. It doesn't matter too much."
When Benvolio whinnied, he concealed a smile. "You mean someone's glad to see you," he said cheerfully. "I don't think I've met this one yet. What's he like?"
In truth, the only ones he'd met so far were Phoenix and Ez's baby, Sahara. It would be interesting to find out what some of the other horses were like.
Esmeralda grinned to herself, stretched out in the backseat. Had Shannon forgotten she was there, she wondered? It was possible, and opened up many interesting avenues.

((OOC: Oh. Well, not too much has happened, really. Esmeralda got a concussion, Emily's mother is in the hospital, Roman (Esmeralda's brother) was introduced, and all that stuff. At the moment, Shannon and Esmeralda are going into town, Roman and Kahlilia are visiting horses in the barn, Keith and Emily are going to Keith's ranch, and Nanina and Xavier are doing dishes in the kitchen. I think that's everyone.))

"Oh, Benvolio is just like a child, to put it simply." Kahlilia laughed. "Hes very affectionate and hyper when he gets to go into the fields." She pointed towards the fields in the distance. She was smiling as she recollected the events from a little over two hours earlier in the day - getting Benvolio to stop and put him back in his stall was like telling an addicted person to stop all of a sudden - or something like that.
She walked over to his stall and opened it. Benvolio sauntered out, to Kahlilia's surprise, and offered a friendly whinny to Roman.
Xavier looked up at Nanina, staying where he was - in a way, standing his ground. He was paranoid for reasons he was not currently aware of, and such unawareness exacerbated his stress. He repeated the low grumbling noise he had made, like it was some secret language only he knew of. The strange noise was longer and deeper than the other had been, which probably indicated something...
... but what?

Roman was charmed. Patting the animal's neck even as he reached for a halter with his free hand, he asked, "Does he usually do this? Walk out of his stall that way? I know it's bad behaviour, but he doesn't seem to be going anywhere."
If Phoenix had tried that, he knew, he would have had to stop him right away - the horse had a tendency to pick up fast on what bad habits he could and could not get away with. But Benvolio seemed a better sort. He scratched the horse behind the ears like a dog, grinning slightly.

"Nah, he hasn't just walked out of his stall before. I really think that he just likes to test his limits, and if he can get away with it he'll stop. Like a kid, I guess you could say." She laughed again. Catching the same thought as Roman did a few moments later, she said "If Phoenix could do this, I think we would all be in trouble... I still think you're lucky to have the courage to deal with him. You might be the first one whos gotten through to him besides Shannon."

Nanina arched an eyebrow at Xavier when he made the noise, again. Shwat?
Keith laughed, on hand holding his hat to his head while B charged on ahead.

Emily leaned down and gave Apollo his head. The only sound she could hear was the thunder of hooves and the roar of the wind. But she had managed to pick up on Keiths' laughing and smiled.

"You never told me about your siblings," Xavier told her in a soft voice after yet another long, akward pause. He had wordlessly watched her put away the dishes, and watched as the dishes from the sink had dissapeared. It was like a feeling he rarely felt, had he ever felt it? It was like feeling spacy beyond belief, high but grounded, everything at once and yet not feeling any different...
it was wierd.
He forced a small smile to Nanina. "I'm curious now... " His voice was very deep, and yet it was quiet now, as though he were in a library or a test-taking area. His large hands were resting on the seperate edges of the sink and he was looking from them, to Nanina, and back again.

Roman gave Kahlilia a slight smile as he continued petting Benvolio. "I think I'm lucky he deigns to deal with me," he replied softly, not thinking too much about what he was saying. If he had, he would have clammed up - he didn't talk much about how he felt to anyone but Ez. "I'd like to talk to Shannon about him, actually," he continued, still somewhat off in a world of his own. "What made him the way he is."
He straightened with a wicked little glint in his eye. "But first, I want to know what it's like to ride him. Want to risk riding with me?"
