I love his stuff, try to read the Dark Elf Trilogy if you can, it is a fantasy classic. Oh and have you read the song of fire and ice series, it's another really good one.

If I may, the Sword of Truth series is ******** badass... no scrimping on the details, and the bad guys nearly redefine depravity half the time.
Edit:
Even has a Starwars-esq moment. That and the first major Villain they run into has a penchant for seducing small children, and then once he has their trust, he buries them up to their necks, puts a funnel in their mouth, then pours molten lead down their throats to sacrifice their souls to demons who delight in tearing the soul of the newly dead into millions of tiny pieces, and then after traveling to the underworld to get what he needs, he studies the sacrificed child's entrails to learn something of the mortal world... Also dose all the basics like rape and abuse...

GThe reason I say song of Fire and Ice is because the Author doesn't mind killing anybody plus he is a really good writer. I agree though that from what little I have read of it the Sword of truth ois a good series.

Oh, you want death? Try the rape and slaughter of an entire continent. And a lot of the slaughter is by rape...
