Jeez, I need some help with tactics in dealing with Tyranids with an IG army that relies on numbers and lascannon batteries

Get more shots. Swap out your Lascannons for Heavy Bolters and take Sharpshooters for your squads. As far as tanks, Hellhounds will work wonders given their large covering size for the squads. And, as always, Basilisks and Leman Russes will be your friends.

ok so i've wondered about the snipers too, and what do you suggest targets for these guys should be? guants or nastier stuff?
It depends on the situation. Because they're more powerful now, I'd suggest using them against more powerful targets. However, if firing upon a group of smaller targets will prevent them from getting into close combat, do that. It's completely subjective and dependent on the situation.

Yeah when fighting the bugs big nastys should be priority IMO for unit with higher power but less shots. Sure they might look tough but when you shoot their face off not so much. Also other good things are pie plates, and putting flamers in the line units

...The Apocalypse book? I'd direct you to the GW Apocalypse Datasheets page, but the site seems to be not working like it should right now.

It's in the Apocolypse book, though it shouldn't be online.

I need to run and pick it up sometime, now that I'm going to be playing Megabattles every couple of months.

you are only going to find it in a Apocalypse book or and Imperial Armour book.

it isnt in the IG sad

I'm fairly certain it's in the Apocalypse Book, and I don't own any Imperial Army books because they're too damn expensive.

Anyway, a Baneblade is 14 Front, 13 Sides, 12 Rear and a ballistics skill of 3. It features it's signature turret-mounted Baneblade cannon with a co-axial autocannon, a hull-mounted demolisher cannon and pair of twin-linked heavy bolters. That's just the standard layout for them, you can also replace the Baneblade cannon with a Hellhammer cannon, or go to Forgeworld and purchase several other primary weapons for it.

thankyou serebrate
thats exactly what i needed
(mind if i inquire on the range, strength, and ap of the baneblade cannon and demolisher cannon? im assuming they're both ordinance heavy1 cannons... correct me if im wrong)

Actually, I don't know. I just read that off of Game Workshop's website and publicly published stats along with ForgeWorld's.

I only have Codex Daemonhunters, so you're SOL if you want additional stats.

Mrrah...

I'd delete the stats, but I see no real reason. Again, for the future, I'd like to direct you people toward a fun program called Army Builder.

Army Builder main download page.

Once downloading the main program, you also need the 40k supplement. Go here and scroll down until you find Warhammer 40,000 (4th Edition).

Those will set you up with the demo version of Army Builder, which will let you look at the basics on every unit in the game.

And yes, its legal through Games Workshop. The "demo crippler" is that you can only have three units created at a time.

As per rules posting, I'd say that general stats are okay, since they're all posted at GWs website anyway. When it gets to special rules, point costs, and all that jazz, that's what can't be posted.

Wow. The original main gun on the baneblade was just a long-barreled battlecannon. When did they switch that out? Also, what are the specs on this 'baneblade' cannon?
