Ten smiled, whispering close to the Ace's ear, being careful not to let Eight hear anything.
"Most of the resistance have heard about your suicide attempt...and it has also reached the Jack's ear...I have gathered he is getting sicker by the minute...but...he'll try to crumble the resistance down. Suit by suit...the resistance needs a stronger plan if you want to keep the rebellion up, Ace, Sir." she said, thinking aloud.
"Ah...right..." Shinsei nodded, wanting to spend a little more time with Siyu before they go back to their world; to where they are not themselves, just mere pawns labelled as Two and Three.
"Where to start?" he asked.

Matt took the letter in his hands. It felt heavy. He looked at Marcie. "Who called you yesterday?" he asked. He felt that it was her, but he wasn't sure. And then it made him wonder why. He knew what he was going to say to Ashle if she was there, though.

Marcie's expression turned dark as she remembered yesterdays events "Do you know what domestic violence is Matty dear?" she asked boarding the buss and paying for the two passages, since it was not so early most of the sits where taken, she decided to stand and look at matt in the face while the bus made it's way downtown.

Matt's face went dark. He looked at her, "Domestic violence...like...family violence?" he asked. His voice was confused. He leaned forward and whispered, "What happened?"

Dan got up from bed lazily and took a bath before heading for the kitchen, he began preparing coffee, now that Marcie was around he could not open the store as late as he would have liked but it was only 9am, no need to rush.
Nobody woke up as the carriage reached wonderland territory, he wondered if the reports of caterpillar's death was real or not. in this place a lot could change overnight.
Marcie sighed, maybe it would have been better if Matt had actually left with only a letter "Yes, Matty dear, family violence" she said getting down of the bus, they had almost missed the stop, she made her way to the apartment complex and climbed up to hers', which was on the third floor, she didn't speak again until then "Ashle's mother seems to be a big one for violent reactions, I had to go and pick her up last night" she said with sadness on her eyes, ashamed she could not prevent the acts from the previous night "I don't know what could have happened if I hadn't arrived when I did" She said fidgeting with the keys, unable to decide whether to enter or not

Matt grabbed Marcie's arm. "Did Ashle's mom..beat her?" he asked, his voice hardly a whisper. His eyes were burning, wondering what kind of mother would do that. It broke his heart that someone could do something like that to her own child.

Marcie sighed and nodded "I shouldn't be the one telling you this, but I don't want you to be too shocked when you see her, she might not be in a mental state for questions either so please be gentle with her" Marcie said with pleading eyes before turning to the door and unlocking it.

Matt looked forward, a tear rolling down his cheek. He nodded, and whispered, "Thank you, Marcie. For telling me..." He then walked into the house.

Marcie closed the door behind her "She is in the first door to the left, she might still be asleep" she said with a sad smile and a glance at Dan that told him not to make any comments for the time being.
Dan just watched Matt curiously as he poured himself some coffe but didn't say anything, well, at least now he knew why Marcie had developed a brother complex.

Matt walked over to the door. He gently opened it, making sure not to wake her up. He saw her under the covers, curled up. A pang of guilt and pain gripped his chest. He gently walked over, and sat on the bed. He gently moved some hair from her face.
Ashle moved to face the person who was touching her. "Matt?" she asked quietly. She moved to where she was fulling facing him. She didn't get out of bed.
Matt smiled. "I wanted to tell you I love you," he said very quietly. He kissed her forehead. "And I'm going to come back. But I have to go home for a while...." He rubbed her bruised cheek gently. "Just promise the Piano Man that you're going to stay safe..."
Ashle nodded. "I love you too, Matt..." she said. She thought that this was all a dream.
Matt smiled again. "I'm glad you said that. It's close to my heart, just like you..." he said in a whisper. "Now get back to sleep." He kissed her forhead again, and then smiled. He walked out, and looked at Marcie. "Okay, I have to get going.."

Marcie smiled at Matt and kissed his forehead before opening the door again "We'll be waiting for your safe return Mr. hatter" She said whit a sad smile.
Dan just sipped his coffee, watching the scene from the kitchen's bar, yes, watching Marcie was definitely more entertaining than a soap opera.

Matt nodded. "I"ll be back..." he said. He then laid the letter back on the counter. He knew that Ashle probly wouldn't remember him telling her that he loved her. He walked out, taking a bus to Alex's house. He walked to the woods, and then stopped when he got to the Looking Glass. He took a deep breath and looked back. "I'm coming back, I promise..." Then he stepped backwards into the Looking Glass.

"Soooo....." Dan said as he watched the door close "what was that about?" he said taking another sip of his coffee.
Marcie looked back cleaning the tears on her eyes "I'll be staying here for a while" she said walking in to the kitchen and hugging Dan.
Dan smiled and returned the hug "As long as you want" he whispered stroking Marcie's hair gently, if she was not ready to speak he would wait until she was "We are going to be needing a bigger place though" he said referring to the 'visits' they had.
Marcie chuckled at his comment "Or I can just kick you out" she said to receive a light hit to her head, she stuck her tongue to Dan then.
Dan smiled, knowing Marcie was just joking "Idiot" he mumbled to receive a mischievous smile before being pulled in to a hug again.
