As soon as Efren left. Maya got up out of the bed and began to clean up. She managed to put the soup away and clean the area where Efren had been cooking but when she began to do the dishes her hand began to shake and she ended up dropping one of the bowls. She started to bend down and pick up the pieces when she collapsed just barely missing the peices of the bowl.

Efren had gone to an abandoned town. The hard part was making sure he could get through. The man raided as many gas stations, houses, cars, and grocery stores as possible. What he was after was toys, books, and clothes for the kids, blankets, medicine, caned food, and something nice for Maya to wear. It was late in the afternoon when he was finally ready to get out of there and near sunset when he returned. to the village. He first dropped off presents to the children before heading back to his place. When he got in he notice Maya laying on the ground and rushed to her side and picked her up. He set her down on his bed and made sure that her body was fine before doing all he could for her.

Maya's eyes soon began to open after a few minutes. She saw that Efren was back. "I am glad your back. I tried to clean up while your gone but I only made a mess." She was refering to the broken bowl that was on the ground near where Efren had found her

"Don't worry too much." He told her as he handed her a glass of water and some medicine that he found. "Here have this. It'll help." the man told her with a smile. "Besides if you don't get better then there would be no way for me to have kids with you." He scolded her. If she stayed sick then they wouldn't have the chance.

Maya had started to reach for the glass of water when her hand started to shake again. She grabbed her wrist while watching her hand. "What's wrong with me. This is exactly what happened when I dropped the bowl when trying to do the dishes."

Efren looked at her helped her with the drink and medicine. "Well there one of two things. You have mental issue, it could be fear, it could not. The other thing is a medical issue and we don't have the medicine in this time to fix it." It was hardcore drugs to help with what seemed to be the problem.

Maya really hoped that it was not a medical issue but deep down she knew that it had something to do with her head injury. She looked away from Efren because if she did start to cry she did not want him to see her do it.

"Here let me get you some stew." The man told her as he got her some more. He scooped the meal into a bowl. "I'm sure you'll feel better soon hopefully. You need to take better care of yourself." He scolded her like he did in the days past. It was clear that he wasn't over those old ways.

Maya started to laugh a little bit. "You always find something to scold me on." She was still not looking at him this time was because she hated being scolded.

"I only scold because I care." Efren responded. If he didn't care about what happen to a person then he wouldn't be quick into wanting the best from them.

Maya looked at Efren. "You don't have tell me just show me thats all you have to do." She wanted Efren to make the move first but there was feeling that he would not at this point in time.

Efren laid down next to her. He wasn't hungry and there was only one bed. "You need to rest more if you want to have a child. I wont sleep with you until you're ready for it.

Maya was not shocked at what he said. She fliped over to face Efren. If he cared for or even loved her he would show her not tell her.

Efren smiled at her. "Get some rest. When you're ready to have a child we will get started on it." He told her as he pulled the covers over her and pulled her close. The man kissed her forehead as he held her.

Maya smiled but instead of falling asleep she kissed Efren if they could not have sex just yet then they could just make out.
