Gatz nodded slightly to himself as he watched Syn's counter-measures move into place, estentially sealing herself away from the world for the moment.
"It's nice to see that you're handling this better than the last guy I did this too," he said in an amused tone. "Of course, he was pretty unstable to begin with, having taken on ten new powers in the space of a minute."
The entity flicked his swordhand with an almost careless gesture, sending the dark sword of chaos energy spiralling away from him. The blade spun through the air and circled back towards Syn, close to the ground. Gatz took time to shoot his opponent a tiny smile.
"... First he exploded," he informed Syn, flicking his finger to the left. The midinight edge wooshed through the air, cleanly severing a line of tattooed-text from the ground with a loud snap.
"Then his remaining essense imploded..." he continued gleefully, waving his finger the other way. Once again his weapon flew through the air, severing yet another anchor.
"... And then what little remained of him disappeared into a vaccum of his own creation." The entity lazily circled his finger, spiralling the blade around his foe to scythe away a large section of the ancient writing.
"Hmm, I wonder how you'll fair in comparison?" he asked as he sent the weapon through the final set of anchors. The entity paused as he awaited a response, his hand pointing upwards and towards Take and Syn. The deadly blade moved away from the Daemon, hovering roughly twenty feet behind Rayth's back.
"... Well, aren't you going to answer me?" he ask, cocking his head to the side. Gatz then drew his finger back in what was almost a beckoning motion. No sooner had he done so then the Laguana Blade rose sharply and sped forwards, slicing through the air like a black lightning bolt. The attack was aimed directly between Take's shoulder blades, where the gap between his wings formed. Whatever protection Syn, expected the appendages to provide her, the same would would not be true for her partners spine.
((Of course, Rake could always move and let Syn get hit. Or sacrifice himself... *insert cheap attempt to add drama to the fight* ^_^))

((PLEASE stop auto hitting. There's only so much I'll ignore And Rayth isnt even there anymore...))
*She blinked as the man sliced into the ground, wondering at the point as the text remained even after, and shrugged. Not actually anchoring her to anything, or even techncially more physical that pictures, it was like putting a neat slice through a painting - it broke the canvas, but not the picture itself as long as the pieces stayed next to each other. Ignoring Gatz completely, she simply focused on Phoenix, who as yet hoevered in the air, making no move. Take in the mean time did not break his chant. As the blade came close, electric flickered around him, slowling it initially, then as it readched cutting point, he merely grunted and flicked his powerful tail, turning the blade aside with a flick. Strong enough to crush through most metals, and charged with the essence of electric, most blades would melt in contact with him. The fact this one didnt, clearly slightly better made than usual, he shrugged and moved two finger sinto position, a coloured glyph shinning in the air before him*
.: How you holding up? :. .: Fine. Legion are technically outer realms, and havent been HERE enough to really understand what they're doing. Plus, they KNOW me. They seem to be enjoying my memories at the moment. :. .: With me out here, Im not suprised. You get far too angry over the past... :. .: Hush. Phoenix wont awaken unless I ask him nicely :.

((Sorry. I thought it'd be okay because the writing didn't seem all that important... Gatz was 'playing' with Syn more than anything in the last post. I'll try to watch myself more, though.))
Gatz watched the arcing electricy with mild interest as the creature attempted to deflect the attack with the eletric field.
"... You do realize that it's called a Laguana 'Blade' because of its shape, not substance, right?" he asked politely. A slight trickle of blood dripped from Take's tail, from where the attack had grazed him as he slapped it aside. The creature had been lucky enough to hit the flat of the blade; if it had hit the attack wrong, the daemon would have come out with only a stump.
"There's no metal in the 'blades', so turning yourself into a giant arc-welder or electromagnetic isn't going to help much," he explained sweetly. Paused to shake out his left hand, then dipped it down, as if to reach for something. "... Oh my. Did I say blades, as in the more than one--?" With that, Gatz snapped his left hand up and out in a throwing motion, sending out a short stream of black chaos from his fingers. In mere seconds another Laguana blade had formed, flying dead center for his opponent. Meanwhile the first blade arced in from behind, once more aimed at Take's back. This time the entity had set it spinning on a horizontal, in order to make it harder for daemon to simply slap it away.
"--Yeah, I think I did."

Only you could possibly manage to find so many arrogant idiots Roan... and I come from a line MADE of arrogance.
*The daemon barely even looked at the blades, yawning as he suddenly ducked, piroutted and spun, his left wing raising from around Roan. As it came up in front, it met with the head on blade, the blade shearing aside drawing only ichor with it, as if the wing was not in fact flesh but something more solid. The wings continued circular beating motion then brought its opposing edge into contact with the first blades following attack, the blade vanishing into the wing... and seamlessly out of Take's chest onto the floor with only the barest trace of ichor seconds later. Straightening, Take replaced his wings around Roan*
Once, I had a little bit of good in me. When my brother found it and tore my wing off, I learned to live on anger and replaced my wing with this. The angrier I get, the more efficient my shift wing becomes, the more it can displace and route through Celestai.. and hey, if it hits one of my forebears all the better. Right now, you're trying to harm my host - this goes beyond anger. The stronger you attack, the better my defence. The book? Coming.
*Looking up, she groaned a little as teh first two Legion generals manifested. to her relief, it was Void and Azazel, accompanied by Rayth*
Found 'em. What is the problem? Stupid question Azazel. Got a corporeal body - cant take you lot acting like dogs with meat inside my head. Cannot contain Many. Cannot order Many. I know. Need your help for five more minutes. Hold your brethren back until the Book returns. Book... I'm only going to close the door I opened a few years ago. Whether you lock it or not is your choice. ... Acceptable. Void within, Azazel without.
*She nodded, relaxing a little as Void re-entered her head and aided her, while Azazel filled the shield of Take's wings with darkness, punctuated y mouths and eyes. Rayth joined Take, his hands glowing with mana*
Wotcha Butch. Did you see? Phoenix... Yes.

((Note to everyone: Apparently it's Ragana, not Laguana. sweatdrop Whoops...))
"Nice story," Gatz responded to the daemon, smiling slightly.
"Unfortunately..." he continued, "... a 'strong' defense isn't as important as an 'effective' one. For example, wearing a fire-retardant suit wouldn't stop a human from drowning, nor would it protect them from a hail of bullets. The defense must be properly matched against the attack if it is to be of any use." As he lectured, the entity flicked the blades of chaos energy into position for yet another front-to-back attack. It appeared that he was going for a repeat of the last attack, even with his opponent shrouded in darkness.
"Similarly, trying to spatially 'shift' or 'displace' an attack that can cut through distortions in space-time, or doing the same to your body as an evasion tactic--" The amount of ichor leaking from Take's chest wound began to drastically increase, showing that the unnaturally sharp cut was much deeper than it appeared to be on the surface. Even the being's shift wing had a tear in it from where the blade had passed into the alternate realm. "--Is fairly pointless."
"Here's some advice: don't shift things using your own body as a portal. When things go wrong, it tends to get messy."
Gatz snapped his hands forward, sending his Ranga Blades darting in for another strike. At the same time he floated back a bit and dropped to the ground. Upon hitting the dirt he immediately came rushing in at a blinding speed, slightly faster than that of his attacks. Gatz kept himself positioned so that his blade coming at Syn from the front masked his approach, the wide flat of the Ragana Blade practically blocking him from sight. The plan here was to have Syn and company defend against the familiar attack pattern he had conditioned her to deal with thus far. The chaos entity would then hit her with a surprise from below, during the few seconds she in which she was pre-occupied with the first attack. It was more a less a feint followed by counter-attack, one of those tactics that had been around forever--mostly because it still worked a lot of the time.

Bored with waiting for about an hour, Quint casually flew back to Gatz' base, not entirely surprised by the fight between his employer and friend. He was sort of upset, as Roan had just told him that fighting without a reason was pointless, and there she was, shifted into some shadowy mess, almost appearing to be on the defensive.
Right about now would have been the time when Quint would open his huge mouth, but his attitude had changed with his sex. You only get one chance to surprise someone with words, and as such they must be chosen carefully.

SECOND reason, Im waiting for Dagoth - he's Phoenix and applied to the guild, but I havent heard from his as yet as to whether he's about. I'll try and contact him by teh end of the weekend, if I dont, I'll compromise and get on with this without him. Very sorry for holding things up guys))

(( Eh, I guess, but I want to be a DPS/healing Shadow Priest, so I'll be playing pretty hard to get there. Actually I'm mid-flight to Org to get my 44 skills. Soon I'll have my 15% crit to Mind Blast, and that means a lot of death to everything. mrgreen

((Trust me when I say it, there is no 'trying' to play WoW. Either you do, or don't. Ask yourself if you could devote...4 hours to the game at least every other day, then play WoW. It may be fun at first to level, but once you hit 30, everything sloooowss down..))

((So... much... to do... on WoW... no... life... Anyone seen the South Park episode to do with WoW? They managed 30 levels in 4 weeks. I think Im gonna be VERY close to beating that and managing it in 3 weeks at this rate... and I dont mean levels 1 - 30 either *death* Still... I love my 2 mains))
Rayth? Yes boss. All in order. Take? No problem. I made a promise. Void? Under control... Phoenix...
*Quite calm, and distracting Take from replying to Gatz, Roan nodded and lifted a hand towards the sky and Phoenix who still hovered overhead*
Ready my son? Burn.
*She let the arm drop, her flesh cracking open all over her body as she did so. As her muscles tissue fell away to join the black ichor Take leaked, literally THOUSANDS of tiny insects and bugs erupted from her body - the travelling form of Legion. Dashing around one of the blade attacks, the forms were sliced and diced mercilessly, only to reform seconds later, the torrent of thousands turning the blade aside. One large bug flew on ahead of the others, then suddenly stopped and erupted into the true form of Void, the land screaminga nd bursting as the creature opened its maw and roared at its brethren, sucking all up in one gulp, taking them back where they belonged, his own form curling in on itself afterwards, reality charring his hide as he fled. With Legion gone, Take piroutted, wings used for balance, ducking under one of the blades as Roan's rotted, part skeletal form sank into the ichor of his own blood. Grinning madly, crouched like a dog over a kill, he lifted the limp form, then sprang into the air, flying directly for Phoenix, Rayth riding his back. With a smack, the small blue form of Rayth leapt into Phoenix, Take then beating his huge wings smoothly to lift himself up and away from the ground, nullifying any attack from that direction. His hard, dark eyes softened for a moment as he looked at Roan, then seemed to recieve some kind of calming signal. Rayth in the meantime bonded breifly with Phoenix, lending the totem his power*
Boss lady says playtime, bird boy. Get your head out of the past and lend a hand.
