Corbin DeSeer Vice Captain
|

Cocking a brow, Corbin glanced down at Rake half way through it's little speel. That must have been what brought him back from the brink of vanishing completely, the obliteration of Roan's soul.
With protest to the sudden severing of the links, and the fading away, Corbin reached out and made to grab Rake's arm, however caught only a handful of ice and ash.
Growling, Corbin tossed the ash and ice, before slamming his fist into the hillside.
"Damn that women, Raoul' have my head."
Sighing, he looked out, watching an army of swat like gowned ghouls assist in the mop up of the remaining army.

With a sigh, Corbin let his head hang, messed bangs covered in ash, snow and blood falling to cover his face like a falling curtain at the end of a grand orchestration. His wounds and injuries, or rather those that Abaddon had achieved during his brief tennancy, weren't healing at an undead rate. Perhaps that of a lowely fledgling, but by no standard the rate he was used to. This posed a potentially serious situation. Firstly, the dagger still stuck handle deep in his back with his already damaged heart wrapped around it. With his heart so badly damaged from the temporary 'death' and transformation, there was no safe way to remove the dagger, there was too much risk of the blade cutting all the way through, which would result in his body going into extended hybernation, which could last a day, or centuries.
Secondly, he had used such a large amount of energy, however somthing struck him as odd. Abaddon's techniques and abilities were astronomical, esspecially after sealing the great dragon inside of his sword and armour, although after all of that energy expenditure, Corbin was sure his body would shut down. This brought him to the conclusion that Abaddon brought with him his own mana stores. Regardless at this point, Corbin was running low on blood, this not helping the first problem any.
Taking in a deep breath, he focused on his disciplines, and began drawing the blood around him to his body. Majority of the blood on the battle field had been gathered, and offered up already to Nidhogg, in exchange for summoning the great beast.
As blood covered the young cainite's body, millipedes and roaches appeared swimming about in the vitae, before vanishing once more after a minute or two, as the blood was soaked up, revealing Corbin in a new pair of pin striped pants and his deep burgandy purple rank coat, a hole readily cut in the back for the handle of the dagger to protrude safely.
Breathing out, Corbin let a faint whisp of violet mist whistle out from between his lips. Narrowing his eyes in query at the whisp of mist, as he got to one knee, preparing to stand, he felt a sharp pain drilling through the back of his skull, and it felt as if somthing was trying to pass through his head to escape through his right eye socket.
Grunting, he slammed his right hand down, as the black nails gradually sharpened and grew.
.:Let me back out, you wretched little fan boy. I will not stay locked up in here!:.
"Damn it, you wont give up, will you heretic!"
The answer from within was made clear, as tears of purified water began to weep from his right eye, shortly before the skin of Corbin's eyelid started to stretch.
Whincing at the pain, as he felt his eye growing in size it seemed, he dug his nails into the ice and quickly thought. Hastily, he began forming barriers and seals, trying to hold Abaddon back, meanwhile in the manifested world of Corbin's mind, Lineage swarmed around the much elder Corbin, trying to restrain the monster.
Flesh tore, as Corbin's eye grew in size. Holding his left hand over his eye, a deep cut that reached the bone began to stretch vertically from his eye. As time passed, the mark over his eye stopped growing, and Abaddon was buried by a sea of the Lineage, and the restraints of Sion. Gasping for breath, Corbin appeared to have just finished yet another intense war, however managed to regain control, and locked the gate ways set in place that lead to the monster he feared he may one day become.

After taking some time to rest, Corbin rose to his feet, and moved to where his swords had landed. One by one he drew them from the ash covered ice, and sheathed them, including Ansuz. He then picked up the masamune Narok had used. He took the sword, and walked down the hill side t'ward the battle field with a stern, cold expression on his face not a sign of his emotional time spent to be seen.
Reaching the bottom of the hill, he was greeted by a small platoon of his ghouls, all wearing bullet proof armour, katanas and tactical masks. In their left hands they carried iron riot shields marked with the DeSeer clan insignia, and in their right hands they carried large bulky assault rifles with grenade attachments. Meeting with one of the ghouls, Corbin was presented with a large wooden box which was quickly opened for him.
Inside were five items. First was a cigar, still in the cylinder case accompanied by a box of thick wooden matches made specifically for cigars, so as to not pollute the intended port and rum flavour of the cigar with match stick chemicals. Next was the hip flask, the contents of course, a mixture of blood and Absinthe. Inside the box next to the flask, was a packet of the specialized vitae that could be found at the BHH tavern formulated by Jammer, already fitted with a drip. Lastly there was the keys to Corbin's Ducati superbike.
Corbin firstly made quick work of the cigar case, and lit the cigar, savouring it for a moment, before then taking the flask, and a hit of the contents. Slipping the flask into his coat pocket, he then fitted himself with the drip, letting it circulate at its own natural pace through his circulatory system. This would help with his regeneration rate.
Corbin then closed the case, leaving the keys inside, and the ghoul passed the case back into the group, only to exchange it for another. Presenting the new case, with a silver plate on the top engraved with the word 'Longinus' engraved into it. At the sight of this case, Corbin's cold hard poker face turned to the look of a boy in a candy store. He knew what was in the case, and in his own mind was saying his thanks for it finally being ready.
As the ghoul turned the key set in the lock, Corbin's left eye lit up, as the right was shut and smeared with blood. Without wasting any time, the ghoul pulled the lid open, to offer up the truely monstrous 'handgun' on display. Glossy silver struck the eyes along with a much darker gunmetal as the fading light bounced off the weapon. 40cm in length with a pair of large clips, each one carrying nine custom made 15mm rounds. The rounds, aside from the obvious custom work, being so large, were armour piercing explosive rounds with crosses carved into the tips.
With a stretching grin, excitement nearly causing him to bite the end off his cigar the cainite reached out with his right hand. The new white gloves he had aquiered along with his coat had a gentle shake as he clutched the handle and took the gun from its case.
It was without a doubt far heavier then the average side arm, specifically weighing in at 20kg, although Corbin handled the fire arm effortlessly, as though it were a plastic toy. Raising the gun to look it over, his features reflected in the polished whole slide, he could barely contain himself as he gave a delighted, dark chortle.
"Beautiful."
Reaching for the ruby satin interior of the guns case once more, he took one of the clips, and slapped it in, pulling the slide back he then released it, listening as the first round was loaded. It gave him a shiver, as the gun components clicked and snapped.
He then brushed his fingers over the engraved notation on the side of the arm. 'A lance for each and every foe'. Obviously refering to the name given to the gun.
Corbin was then handed a large leather holster, and after arming himself with the grotesquely large weapon, holstering it backwards over his left hip, so as to draw it easier concidering the length, like a sword.
Taking the second clip from the case, he set it into a 'pocket' on the holster and let the ghoul close the case.
"Alright, I want you to finish the sweep of the area, whilst finding the rest of the clan, and of course, that hades forsaken Siren. When you find Azrael and the others, treat them until I arrive. Also, I want the second assault unit to hunt down the rest of Hades' generals, and hades himself, if they haven't already been taken care of. Go now with the pride of the clan and complete these tasks with the utmost dedication."
Letting their rifles hang from their slings over shoulders, each saluted, before turning and heading out, without the need to pass the orders on, as Corbin had his own link to his ghouls, and they each and every one knew.
Soon enough, Ghouls jogged to gather around Dagoth, Corbin not far behind, taking another hit from his flask with his father's masamune in his left hand, as one of the ghouls took a knee to Dag's right side, carrying a case similiar to the first brought to Corbin. Opening it, the ghoul produced the same items, save for the bike keys of course. In place of the keys, another packet of the vitae fitted with a drip.
Meanwhile, a platoon of ghouls, the number roughly twelve or so, give or take a few ran up behind Azrael, trying to catch up with him, one of the ghouls carrying a case exactly the same as the one currently opened for Dagoth.
On another part of the battlefield, two platoons appeared and surrounded the gun totting lycanthrope that Bard had been engaging. With the lycan surrounded, rifles readily aimed at him, the laser pointer attachements swarming all over Trigger's body, the ghouls half hid behind their riot shields.
In response to the sudden attention, Trigger gave a cocky chuckle, before dropping his gun, and half heartidly raising his hands to shoulder height. Staring at Bard with a smug expression, he gave a shrug.
"Guess my hands weren't fast enough."
Although the ghouls had Trigger surrounded, and could with ease reduce him to small chunks if they all opened fire, they waited for Bard's word it seemed.
As all of this took place, gun fire rang out sporadicly, as the ghouls scattered all over the frozen area gunned down the remaining soldiers of Hades that still fought, and executed the ones that gave in. The largest group however ran in formation t'ward the last known location of Hades, arms ready, as emerald eyes randomly appeared, in the shadows of the ghouls searching.

(( im thinking anihilation ? xd ))
*The Siren hybrid let out a sly smirk as Corbins army flooded the battle scene. Fixating his eyes onto Trigger, Sophus' face soon turned lifeless whilst his wings neatly folded back behind him. He spoke calmly and quietly to his raging guardian Cerberus, whom he was still on the back of and told him to lower the bard to the ground. Readying a hand for his demonic weapon Sophus leapt off the beasts back and aimed the guitar into position.
A bloodfilled lust entangled itself through Sophus' bloodstream, his eyes slowly turning from blue to red again as Romaleos crept closer into consiousness.
His fingers met the alder of the guitars neck. He fretted a note and shouted to Corbins minions as he strummed his final strum to unleash hell upon Trigger.*

The very moment Bard's order was made, before he even finished stretching the word in a yell, triggers were pulled. The lycan knew what was going to happen even before Bard gave the command, and reached for his dropped revolver in a desperate dive, though in mid air, his body was ripped apart by the automatic weapons.
As the ash and ice was tossed about, and the lycan's shattered body hit the ground, the ghouls lowered their weapons, all but one which fired a single grenade to completely destroy the body. After which, the essence was automaticly ripped away and sealed within Corbin's sword, across the field.

((Ok. Two posts in one here cos Im lazy.))
~HADES~
*It had boggled the mind. Somehow, the war had gone from an uncountable mass of enemies overwhelming the pitifully small clan... to a clash of teh titans. Even when faced with what technically SHOULD have been the worst 'life' could ever throw at them.. these damnable CREATURES had been more concerned with their own problems than Hell itself... and WON. He had been convinced tricking Azrael with the shadow Roan would reduce morale enough to let Surt and Narok plus his own generals win. Instead... the damnable elder gods and their cropnies had made their way onto the scene... at a DeSeer's bidding! Impossible! And then there had been the Daemon itself... HOW had it accessed Firmament?! HOW?! The reins of his steed protested as Hades clenched them ever tighter, angry and irate. He turned his head as three other figures appeared alongside*
We told you. Do you believe now?
Fine. Dybbuk it is. I cant believe this....
*Resigning himself to the inevitable, Hades cast one last look at teh decimated battlefield and sighed, knowing he had lost well and truly. Wheeling his horse, he rode off alongside War, Famine and PEstilence. This would not be the last the DeSeer clan saw of him... but next time would be very different, and teh conditions much, much worse. Leaving his sons to deal with ruling the Underworld without a second thought, death and his horsemen vanished*
~Hell~
*Staring at the throne in Hades main chamber, the gathered butterflies seemed to shiver and dance with excitement for a moment, the collected forms flickering into a familiar shape, then away again. A quiet, amused sound eminated from them... then they drifted onwards*

*He was tired of waiting. For the last week no one had answered his calls, not even on the special personal line exclusively for him to reach the General. SOMEONE woudl account fo rthis. Patrols hadnt been run, no one had checked in and there were huge energy spikes going off adhoc... not to mention the news problems that was causing. Now... he would deal with it personally. Pulling up in his car, he was followed by two vans of his personal guards, the Wolf's Fist logo on the sides of teh vans. Motioning the majority of teh ghouls ahead of him, Raoul descended towards the carnage flanked by his bodyguards. What he saw ALMOST made him display emotion. Setting his jaw, he moved down into the carnage and took up station some way from the center of the blast area.*
Roan isnt here anymore. Bring me Corbin. Now.
*He barked the command out, eyes hard as flint as he gazed over the destruction, letting one of his captains take a squad of ghouls towards the ghouls bearing DeSeer marked riot shields in the near distance. There was about to be a reckoning.*

As Hades chose to leave the field of war Corbin's ghouls made it to his last known position too late to fire or take any action, and simply stood in ranked file there. Corbin knew as soon as the ghouls did that Hades had fleed and this left him with both a feeling of accomplishment, and one of failure turning inside him.
It was then one of the patrols noticed the car and vans pulling up with the insignia marked on the vehicles. The ghouls themselves weren't familiar with this brand and stood with guns at the ready, however quickly disarmed and stood instead at attention as Corbin hollered feverishly at them through the kindred link he shared with his ghouls.
Standing now at the back of the platoon tending to Dag Corbin hung his head, as Raoul and his entourage stepped out of the vehicles.
"s**t. I cant believe he came here. Boy am I in for a beating."
Spitting out his cigar, and taking one last big hit from his flask he then hid it away inside his coat and did what he could to straighten it and the rest of his clothing out. Corbin then walked through his ghouls and in passing, gave Dag a pat on the shoulder.
"You did good. For the love of Frigg though, stay low for now."
He then thrust the masamune into the ground next to his brother.
"Look after this for me alright?"
Corbin then without awaiting an answer left his brother accompanied by two ghouls to meet with those sent to fetch him by Raoul.

*Raoul's ghouls stopped as they observed Corbin approaching and each inclined his head in a respectful bow as they delivered their message*
Lord DeSeer, the Prince will see you now. This way please.
*They then about faced, the front two ranks leading off whilst the back two moved into position behind Corbin. Apparently this wasnt a mere invite.. Corbin WOULD be seeing the Prince come hell or high water. Raoul for his part had found a suitable rock to lean against, his cold eyes flickering to Corbin as he approached. His voice was deadly calm and quiet*
One month ago, general DeSeer spoke to me on our private line to tell me she was suffering some complications and would not be in contact for a while. She assured me everything was under control and I need not worry. One week ago, she called me again and told me something unexpected had happened and Lye was in the area. Two nights ago, Lye paid me a visit. As did half the local police force and a significant number of our dear media journalists. As for why they decided to... it had something to do with the light show coming from this area and the massive power spikes. I thought that would be the worst of it, but no. After recieving no word from any of your clan, I am instead intrigued to find myself dealing with irate kine government bodies clammering on about what I can only assume to have been some form of elder god or other and your entire bloodline running amuck out here with no regard for your surroundings. To top it off, I do not sense my general anywhere in the country, let alone local area and I have had some VERY interesting reports on what YOU have been getting up to. Would you care to start explaining yourself, Lord DeSeer?
*He quirked a delicate eyebrow and accepted a wine glass from an attendant. At present... he was still deadly calm. He knew how Roan would deal with him at this stage... but he wondered how the much younger heir would cope*

*Sophus called out to his father as he saw him flee from battle but failed to stop his cowardice. To make matters worse some sort of evil cavalry seemed to be making negotiations with Corbin. Whoever they were they meant business, Sophus knew Corbin talks with his fists and if even HE wasnt going to start something then something seriously bad was still waiting to happen.
Keeping his wounded self out of sight, Sophus draped his cloak over his cuts and bruises and vanished to the Underworld hoping to gather some more information.*

As Raoul's ghouls came to deliver the message from the prince, Corbin gave a small hand gesture, and the pair of his own ghouls stopped in their tracks as they were replaced by the prince's own.
He noted the way Raoul's ghouls assembled around him quickly, though made no visible signs of protest, or even query, he simply began doing up the buttons of his jacket so as to appear better for the meeting despite the ash and blood in his hair and on his face. He kept a calm, collected expression upon his face, and made every attempt to not walk with such a cocky gait, as he usually would. He knew the prince would notice his gait, and take that into concideration if Corbin appeared too sure of himself or smug in any way.
Just a moment before the prince began to speak, Corbin tightened his heels, and stood at attention, knowing full well he would have to take a military approach to this and show a great deal of respect. Listening intently to the prince Raoul, listening to his exact wordings with an analytical nature he tried to formulate the best possible answers without making it appear he had to think about it.
"Sir. My apologies for the recent mayhem and the trouble our clan has caused you and the higher ups. As of late forces have risen up against the Clan DeSeer with unexpected consequences. Hades had organized the underworld to seek revenge upon us and so we were forced to act. Surt among others had taken this oppertunity to attempt to bring about the end of everything resulting in damage to the land of Gaia beyond our control. Roan has been forced into a state which left her no option but to leave this realm temporarily and leave me in her stead. I myself had suffered an injury which still effects me. This resulted in my temporary dispatch and the brief posession of a completely different part of myself. I have taken the needed actions to seal this monster away so that he can cause no more of a headache for you and the Camarilla. The rest of the clan were acting upon orders given by Roan and myself, and as such I ask that you hold me responsible for their actions, however I dare not question your concept of the correct disciplinary action, my lord."
In days long since gone, Corbin may have at this point taken a submissive kneel, or taken to a challenging glare. These extremes held no place in this situation though, and either one may get him killed, thus he stood firm, his hands set open at his sides, eyes on Raoul's, though not challenging.

~Give the boy his due.... he's not doing bad. Either she's prewarned him or... no. No, she didnt... ok... Ball's in my court again. Clever boy... ~
*Keeping his thoughts to himself, his face impassive, he gestured and a second glass was produced for Corbin*
Hades... I must admit, we didnt expect or anticpate that. And I know you speak truth as Lye came to me directly. Roan... I will deal with when she returns in the mean time... the clan is indeed your responsibility and you did well to take teh consequences on yourself. The punishment shall be extra patrols which YOU are now in charge of. Whether you choose to run them alone as Roan did... or to take the whole clan is your choice. Until such times as general Roan is presented to me, you will fulfill her duties Lieutenant. Present yourself tojmorrow evening. I will inform you of your patrols and the latest reports from the front. For your convenience, I will meet you at the Tavern Between Heaven and Hell. Welcome to the fun world of politics and responsibility. Now the kid gloves come off.
*Rather than rising to leave as most would after such a sentance, Raoul nodded to Corbin and sipped from his glass. Either he was waiting for a response.. or there was more to come*

Accepting the glass with a gracious bow to both the attendant, and Raoul, he took just a small sip before paying once more, carful attention to the Prince's words.
"M'lord I will accept your punishment gratfully, and perform these tasks with the pride of the Camarilla in my every action."
On the subject of Lye, Corbin was unsure of just how he and the prince were related and with the knowledge of who this 'man' was he assumed it in his best interest to leave that subject where it had died in the water. He wasn't about to risk this much calmer attitude then he had expected of the meeting.
"I will of course arrive promptly tomorow evening and am extremely extolled by your concern for my convenience. Roan will be presented to you upon her surfacing, as you desire."
