Cottonpaw scuffled her paws on the ground and sighed. She was bored, and just wanted to sleep. She headed towards the camp enterence, hoping to be unnoticed.

Cottonpaw cringed.
"I was just...uh, I was just going to...get something to eat!" She veered in her path and headed for the fresh-kill.
Oh now you'll never become a warrior! she thought to herself.

Deserttail let out a sniff of laughter. "I'll come with you then. It doesn't look like Greystar's ready to talk yet." 'Getting something to eat,' yeah right. She wasn't even heading for the fresh-kill.

Cottonpaw nodded and picked up a small mouse out of the food. She couldn't tell if Deserttail was upset or not, but she knew her lie was noticable. She dropped the mouse on the ground.
"Uh...sorry I, umm, you know." She shrugged. "I guess I'm just...bored you know and sitting here in the snow is making me cold." She looked at her meal and sniffed.
I never should have tried to leave! She thought somberly.

Deserttail flicked Cottonpaw on the ear. "Relax, what you did was wrong, but everyone makes mistakes. We are all cold, tired and bored, but for Greystar to wake us up and call a meeting at this hour...it has to be important. Now, lets get back and listen. She trotted off into the crowd of cats, reasuring them that Greystar called them out for a reason.

Cottonpaw let out a breath. Thank goodness it was Deserttail who had caught her and not someone like Batfur or she would probably have to sit out in this cold all night! She walked back to her place, leaving the forgotten mouse in the snow, and sat down.

Bronzepaw gave a small groan, she was really hungry. Spotting something wriggling in though the dirt, she ate it quickly. It didn't taste that bad, she would've killed for a mouse, though. She found a few more to eat, and tried to dig her way up the tunnel. She did, and pushed away the rock. There was a bit of water in Darkfoot's den, and she lapt it up quickly, then went back down in her 'den'.
