Aye, you'll need one of the sculpting masters to revive that range into something good and selling again. Though after seeing the new chaos marines I have my doubt as to whether those minis will become less spiky and more serious, or more spiky and even more idiotic.

Either way Id like to see them around just so my eldar can fight them. Otherwise Im just not a fan of the fluff in the same sense that I never feel like playing the over the top evil hedonist option in any nerd hobby.
Other than that, I know more than a few people who either do play them or show interest in them, so Im sure some people out thered appreciate it. Im more worried about rules though with the recent changes than I am the models. Really in regards to dark eldar, itd have to be really bad to still not be an improvement on some level.

I'm kinda wondering... How many people play the DE compared to the other races? I mean, DE seem to be able to be a very nasty army, but I've never met anyone who plays them. And GW never makes new models, yet they don't throw them out like the Squats, and they exist in the GW campaigns, which indicates someone must be buying/playing them. kind of like dark elves, they don't get that much new either, but many are playing them, at least where I live. Dark Eldar would make for some really cool models I'm sure. I'm becoming carried away sweatdrop back to my first question.

That's my observation too, I just wonder why GW doen's either try to spice them up so people will buy them, or just throw them away. (e.g. Squats) confused

The difference is this.
Squats just plain sucked, their models looked like walking toddlers and their guns looks pretty ******** weird. Also Squats? WTF kinda name is that!?
Dark Eldar actually have some sort of importance to the warhammer 40k universe and have a fair amount of kick a**. All Dark Eldar needs is some new units and a remake like tau got.

Well, DE are fragile and thus hard to master, and average player is kid who loves his marines wading thru hail of fire unharmed...

The Dark Eldar will be revised in good time. They just have an awfully low priority as of now. The Imperial Guard would most likely get a revision before the SM Elves.
Mac edit.
DON'T ******** EDIT IT ALL THE TIME b***h.

My friend plays Dark Eldar, and he normally wails on Space Marines of any kind. Very mobile army, moved quick, hits hard. My Orks, though, give him a run for his money. We've played 5 or 6 times, and each time I won (except one time we worked together against Space Marines and Ig, and won.)
The tactics can be tough to pull off, but once you figure it out, its one hell of a fighting force.

They're an intresting force to face. they specilize in close combat, but since all of their troops have S3 and T3 you can still have a fighting chance to do some dammage in CC. Nothing like a good ol' fashioned bayonet charge of 30 bodies to show the crazy witches what's for.

actually, come to think about it, I think I'll start a DE army once I'm done with my death guard. It'll take some time though (I'm kinda the slowest painter in the world lol ) any must-haves in the army?

Lord and two warrior/raider squads - I've seen cc and shooty setups... cc would emphasize wyches and taloses, shooty warriors and ravagers...
