No, it's ridiculous for the Hatake to be faster than speed ninja. Kakashi aside, I don't think any Hatake should. They already have their fancy weapon enhancing chakra, as well as two special jutsu.

What kind of malarkey is this? *Sneezes repeadtedly* Hey i'm alergic to BS get that crap outta here!!! Wow... Did ya'll not realize it's a Clan/Bloodline? It's specialized breeding.. Members of the clan or bloodline are quick, but still do not have any special eye to adapt them for the high speeds. that means... They only accepted quick ninjas... AKA Speed Ninja(+10) Mates with another Speed Ninja(+10) Giving you a Speed Ninja Baby. Now.. Hereditary works like this... Take the bonus you get from one parent, and split it in half. (+10/2 = +5) smile Giving you a (+15) bonus for the baby. Also it's very easy to determine for the Geneology or w/e is like this... The bonus for speed is... 10 | 15 | 15 | 20 50% chance the child will be born with +15, 25% chance the child will be born with +10, or +20. If you take the average of all of these... It comes out to be a surprising +15 points!!! biggrin Lol... God I love math..

**Side Note**
The Hatake Clan is actually a very poor clan. =/
Everything about it kinda sucks. For instance, Their white chakra only adds on to base jutsus and weapons giving small enhancements.
The only thing they have going for them is speed, so... Don't really complain too much. However, Anyone can be born with a Unique Coloured Chakra, since it in fact ones pure life energy and is unique to the different wielders behind it.

I'm not talking about silly genetics, I'm talking about their stats.
Members of the Hatake bloodline don't have to be (And won't be) Speed Ninja types, because they already have the bonus, resulting in about four types because of their bloodline. That's ridiculous.
It doesn't matter if they're "quick." They shouldn't be any faster than an actual Speed Ninja, who's actually trained to be faster. Genetics only set the boundaries for their potential, actual ability is obtained by working.
Edit: The Hatake is a poor clan, because it was created by fans of Hatake Kakashi, and wasn't an official skill modifier in Naruto. People made it because Kakashi was awesome, and somehow it's drifted into ever single Naruto guild. Kakashi himself IS awesome because he has trained hard, is a semi-prodigy, and has an implanted sharingan.

Genetics is what determines your potential. If you have 2 babies born. One was bred for speed and the other one was not, the baby born from speed will always be faster than the one that wasn't. Lol. It's like putting a Greyhound against a Weinerdog. ;P Greyhounds bred for speed, Weinderdogs weren't. Genetics 101.

Still, this is a Gaia Guild based on a stat system, not random ninja ******** each other and producing. I'm not talking about the LOGICAL REASON PROVIDED BY REAL LIFE.
I'm talking about the STATS in a FICTIONAL guild. Some rules, like physics don't even apply in guilds like these.

It's fictional with boundaries and based upon the physics of real life.How do you think a Kekkei Genkai works? Through breeding. Why do you think people from the Uchiha Clan only get the sharingan? Through Breeding. Otherwise Random Clans/Bloodlines would pop up everywhere. A Hyuuga with the Uchiha eye. Lol. It's real life physics exaggerated. It's their Clan boost. smile If you're going to argue that then anyone who is in the Hyuuga/Uchiha clan should have to specialized in Doujutsu in order to use their eye-techniques. The Aburame clan would have to specialize in bugs.. The Akamichi clan would have to specialize in Chakra Size Control with limbs and such.
