But there was another being who heard the devlyn's cry for mercy, and that being was now fiercely angry. How... dare anyone harm one of her devlyn daughters? She was, in fact, so fiercely enraged that she had quite forgotten the modern usage of the language. Manifesting herself directly in TBC's path, wrenching him away from his victim, the goddess glared down at the despicable kat.

"How dare thee, miscreant! Know that thou hast angered me beyond mine endurance. Thou shalt not touch mine beloved daughter!" Red eyes blazing with fury, death showing in her pupils, the Devlyn Goddess Maelthra extended the feel of her 'presence', cowing the males within the room, and soothing her daughter. A glowing green aura surrounded the much abused devlyn. He would not be able to hurt her again.

"If thou darest to take such action once more, thou wilt truly know mine wrath." Her tone was threatening, filled with a terrible, all encompassing anger. "Hast thou dared to harm e'en an child?" Her sharp ears had heard the weeping of a baby. If she had been angry before, she was furious now. Absolutely, completely furious.

The sudden onset of a creature The Black Cat did not expect to see sent his mind whirling. It took him seconds to regain his bearings as he felt a powerful vice-like grip encircle him and pull him from the wretched female he had intended to damage further. Rage filled the house and all the males who had come, quickly found their way out, trying to put as much distance between themselves and the enraged Goddess as was possible. Loyalty was only skin deep. Her words hit him and for a second time in his life he was nervous. It was difficult for the male to feel anything intensely as he wasn't precisely mortal, neither was he immortal. Flesh and fabric. Therefore he often came across as unfeeling or distant. Yet his eyes refused to lift, to look at the Goddess. He would not. He was damned, in deep s**t. How had he fallen now? Why did she notice this particular act of cruelty among many? Daughter? It made sense.. she must be the ruling Deity over this.. female. Which made her exceptionally dangerous.

His teeth gritted harshly, his limbs stretching uneasily and noisily under the strain of her grip as he stared down, empty and to the side. His ears flat against his head, his eyebrows furrowed slightly as his mind began to frenzy, working overtime to figure out how he was going to get out of this predicament. She knew what he'd done. Raine. The babies cries enraged him. Damn her. He wanted to shut her up and away, keep her silent. But he refused to look, to move, almost statue-like and insubordinate. He said nothing to prevoke her, did nothing to warrant his own phsycial destruction. He was inches from being destroyed and he had only the faintest chance of escaping. He needed to figure out how exactly and exploit it. There was always a way out. But Deities weren't easily fooled, nor were they exactly stupid.

Raine looked up slowly from her pillow, her eyes large and moist from weeping as her little chest expanded and shrank rapidly. A fresh bought of tears preparing to spring up. What was happening? Who was this? She was mad, yelling.. Raine put her paws over her ears and buried her face in the pillow again, crying.

The Devlyn, seeing her chance for freedom, bowed low to her Goddess and ran as fast as her legs would take her out the Plantation doors and into the deadlands. Her hide was saved, praise Maelthra.

"Hold him," Maelthra ordered to one of the draconic, serpentine tails. Happy to oblige its mistress, the larger of the two clamped onto TBC, dragging him along behind her as the Goddess swept towards the room where Raine cowered. "What is this that I see here? Hast thou e'en taken captive a child against her own will? For shame. Thou art a kat of few morals it would seem. Tell me, child. Whither art thine parents?" Her voice, once angry, became gentle as she spoke to the tiny nymphae. "Hast thou been parted from them?" If so... she would return the girl to the keeping of her family. The poor little thing seemed quite distraught. "I can return thee thither, if thou should wish it." Poor scared baby. With the most careful of paws, the Devlyn Goddess scooped her up, and held her close. "Thine troubles are at an end. I will see thee safe, sweet."

"I thought you were going to do both? But I guess it's one or the other eh?" He chuckled, placing his paws on the top of her thighs. Digging his claws into her fur lightly.

Kebas laughed as he watched her weight her options. "You better pick quickly now before I pick for you. Cause your the only one out of the two of us that's hungry. For food anyway." He made a ticking noise as he waited for her to decide. The male wasn't going to let her leave it up to him to decide. He knew what he wanted. It was her who was craving two things at once.

Either way, he'd either get it now or have to wait. And he wasn't up for the latter.

Looking up at Chath, Ventash'ma chuckled. Shaking his head. Wet, soggy hair sloshing about in the water. "At least you could probably tie a floating head down."

He heard her yawn. The warmth of the springs did tend to make you kind of sleepy. The warm waters and steam just relaxed you so much you could fall asleep right there. But it was never a good thing to do. Too much time in these waters could make you sick or you could slip beneath the water and drown.

Moving forward as she offered to scrub his back, he pulled his hair over one shoulder. Placing his paws on his knees before leaning forward a bit. He didn't mind Aullana scrubbing his back. Gods knew it was a hard place to reach sometimes. But it always reminded him of the days when he'd get a bath from his dad.

Though those were probably more traumatizing the helpful in getting him clean. Being tossed head first as a kit into water always left one with a tick.

She giggled some more. "Head! Me head!" The kit scooted along the little platform on her bum. As if acting out like she was a floating head. Though occasionally a shoulder or two would pop up out of the water.

Getting close to the edge. Chath dangled her feet over it. Leaning forward just a bit to look down into the deeper water. It was a lot darker in the deeper water. At least farther down anyway. She figured if you were short enough you could just, disappear.

Raine looked up in time to see the lady approaching and she cowered into her pillow at the start of the advancement. Yet once addressed, the baby cautiously looked up, her eyes large and adorable if not heavy with sadness. It was hard to understand, to communicate as she was still quite young, yet her intelligence was above average due to the tampering she had undergone, therefore she was able to offer something to the inquiring Deity. "Wish?" She parroted, the world well pronounced and understood. Her eyes slid away from the adult, staring off as if in deep contemplation before she turned back. "Home! Bye-bye.. Raine.. bye-bye!" She was teary eyes as she reached her arms up, releasing the pillow. Her tail trailing behind her as the Goddess plucked her from the hard floor.

The Black Cat's eyes narrowed, not in anger but rather as a result of the rough handling he was being dealt at the moment. He still refused to move, his eyes having dulled as he retreated into his own mind to contemplate. Once finished, he returned, his eyes bright and eerie. He knew better than to open his mouth and act smart in her presence, that was a good way to shorten your lifespan in regards to a Deity, especially one who wanted to kill you as it was. He was having trouble staying in his current form, the stress of the situation was over-whelming him and without warning there came a soft 'pop' and The Black Cat had shifted into a plushie. His button eyes staring out blanky at the world and his yarn hair flopping freely atop his head as it lolled to one side, looking quite unhappy.

How very strange... all of the little boys, running from the school. Unconcerned by the presence of a goddess, Despair tip toed in the front door, picking her way towards the source of all that sound, and the source of the boys' fear. "Little boys ran away... left the place all alone. Pity. It doesn't like to be alone, does it love?" She bent, and picked up the fallen plushie, dusting it off, and cuddling it close to her. "Well, we'll set it to rights, won't we?" Humming a haunting, almost sweet melody the Meekikat wandered away from the goddess who was enthralled by the child. "Does it have a name, precious?" Probably. Most toys had names. They just didn't know it yet. "We'll call it Blackie for now... until we know its name, we will." Tilting her head to the side, she stared down at the Black Cat, trapped in his plushie form, all cloth and stuffing, and thread. "Little boys don't like to play with dolls, do they? Oh no they don't. Left it all alone, like the house. Abandoned it. But we won't, will we love? No."

Maelthra was far too occupied with the baby to notice a dark, purple shape swoop in and grab what was rightfully hers. She would remember it later, but for now, there was much work to be done. "Have thee fed, child? I shall take thee to thy parents, sweeting." Holding Raine ever so close, the goddess vanished, to appear just outside of the demon Azazel's domain. "Fear not, little one. Thine trials are truly at an end.

Rinko laughed as she heard him ticking away, she wrinkled her nose and swished her tail back and forth as she contemplated her predicament with careful judgement. "Hmm.. I say we earn our breakfast. What do you think?"

Her grin was wicked in the darkness as she leaned forward, kissing him slowly and passionately as the rain poured down around the outside of the cave. Leaving the two lovers in a world all their own.

{-Shall we end it there? XD-}

Aullana slipped behind her mate, her paws instantly going to work as she scrubbed his fur clean. Her touch wasn't too soft nor was it excessively rough. Her browns knit in concentration as she went about her task, feeling a jump in happiness over being of use to her mate. She loved chores like this for some reason. They made her feel useful, a feeling she enjoyed. Being idle didn't quite suit the female. As Ventash'ma spoke she stole a glance over his shoulder at their baby and laughed, her smile bright and warm like the sunshine they were currently graced with. It dappled down through the trees providing the perfect mixture of shadow and light. Keeping the air cool yet comfortable.

"The only thing it would be able to do is roll away, and that's easy enough to handle." Her voice was a chime upon the breeze as she spoke, her paws coming up to work out the kinks in Ventash'ma's shoulders and neck. He was so tense sometimes, maybe he needed more furs to sleep on or some new ones at least. She'd noticed a few were going bald and leaving nothing but hide to sleep under. But she'd leave that to him, she didn't see the use in nagging him over it. It wasn't as though she minded. She was easy enough to please. "Why are you so tense love? Is everything all right? You have so many knots.." Her slender brows furrowed again as she continued massaging his shoulders. He really was all worked up in the back.

Now The Black Cat had been in confusing situations in the past, but none so confusing as he currently was subject to. At first he refused to turn back for the simple fact that Maelthra was still in the area. So, preparing to be punished, he waited. Only to be picked up by.. a Meeki? For one he had no idea how she'd gotten past the Goddess and for two she was talking animatedly to herself just like Naya used to do. And if she was truly wacked in the head that mean't he would have no ability to infiltrate her mind, leaving him subject to her whims until he was safe and could turn back. So he was forced to be wisked away, unable to change with the looming threat of the Goddess still inside his house and unwilling to take the risk. That plus he was exhausted.

Inside of his mind the world around him was visible through the plushies eyes. Everything else was a dark void of inky black. His silver eye practically glowed, his black eye absorbed and seemed to grow darker as his strength began returning. He frowned, hardly entertained by his new nickname. 'Blackie?' Oh, for the love of some higher power. The plushies eyes seemed to gleam, it's yarn hair flopping this way and that as she moved, the head bobbling slightly from side to side as did it's cute little limbs and tail. The air outside was remarkably dry tonight, the plantation remained cold, it was always freezing where The Black Cat resided. He was saved, for now. But at what cost and by what type of creature.. who knew. Certainly not him.

Aimlessly, the Meekikat wandered, her path far from straight forward. There was no rhyme nor reason to it, really. She went where she wanted to. "We don't like that name, do we love? Maybe we'll call it Black. We had a Blackie once, and it wasn't very nice, was it? Died when we were busy, didn't it? Can't play with a dead toy, no we can't." A little pout graced those exquisite lips, lips that had not spoken a sane word in years. Ages and ages. "We'll not let this one die, though. Can't. It isn't alive!" Giggling and swinging in a rather unsteady circle, Despair clutched TBC's plushie ever so close. "Can't love it to death, it's already gone! Is it?" She shook the plushie, and poked it, testing it for movement. "So it is. We knew it was. Black is black, isn't it?" And he was. Unfortunately, he was nothing near as 'gone' as she imagined. "Poor Black... left all alone. We'll not leave it alone, will we now?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 13, 2008 12:48 am

This was really too much. He had lost track of their progress, lost track of how far from the plantation they'd gotten and this sudden onset of crazed affection was making his skin crawl. The worst part of it was that in some twisted way he owed her. And he hated owing anyone anything. Especially females. Yet the worst of his woes was still to come as he felt his energy surge and flush through his body, his time as a plushie was coming to an end and soon he would switch back to the land of breath and light. A land in which his plushie form was being cuddled and cooed over, offered promises by a female who didn't seem fit to cook an egg. Promises she would likely come to regret. She had no idea. Of course, neither did he.

The plushie began to shift in her paws, the skin literally crawling with movement as it rippled and stretched, contracted and expanded. The feeling would be something akin to holding a fleshy bag packed to the gills with live eels who were none too happy to be hoisted about and confined. The fabric made eerie stretching sounds as thread was pulled taught and in moments the unsuspecting female was holding a full grown male Kat. The sight would have been funny to anyone else, to him it was one step removed from funny and more humiliating than anything. His claws dug into her shoulders by reflex, keeping himself steady. This was a situation he'd never before encountered and he wasn't exactly sure what to say or do at such a time. 'Gee, thanks?', 'Put me down?', 'Lovely evening we're having?'.. so he said nothing. His body language said enough and it was far from pleasant.

For one moment, Despair blinked. "It wasn't gone, was it... now it's gone at made itself big. We didn't ask it to, did we?" That edge of a pout appeared again. "It doesn't want to be ours, does it?" Even more of a pout. She couldn't add him to her plushie collection, on the grounds that he wasn't a plushie. That was about all she got out before his weight overbalanced her, and she careened into the grass, to lie flat on her back, her tail lashing as she continued to cuddle him close. It was instinctive, that cuddling... and not meant personally at all. Not on the sort of level he might expect. "Have we offended it, love? It puffed up and exploded, and then it was big. Bigger than we are, isn't it?" She poked at him a little, oblivious to his claws in her shoulders. "Can't we play with it still?" Questions were hardly ever answered.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 13, 2008 1:14 am

The Black Cat's eyes widened a little as they fell, his claws digging in deeper until they both landed on the soft grass below and she was pinned beneath him. Her questions assaulted his ears but he chose not to answer, there was honestly no reason as her questions held no weight. It was also for the same reason he never answered Naya, it was pointless. He looked down at her, his silver eye a beacon of intelligence while his dark eye radiated a cold, dangerous malice, his expression was somewhere between utter loss of control and anger. The males temper was returning and yet he had no desire to hurt her at the present moment. She was crazy, he could leave her without so much as a second glance. She served him no purpose and since, to him, it seemed she had no idea of the weight of her actions in saving him, he would not be paying her back. Case closed. Or so he thought.

The Black Cat growled down at Despair, the sound usually intimidating to those who knew enough to understand it. Yet as he released her and slammed his paws down on either side of her head, pushing himself up off of the curious Meeki, he felt something unpleasant take hold of him and he was forced back down. It was several moments before he realize what it was and came to a horrific realization. One of the threads that sealed his shoulder to his right arm had become entangled about the wrist she was currently using to poke him. In the fray it had come undone and was somehow knotted like fishing line around her wrist. Charming.. The thread was unbreakable but that didn't mean he couldn't come undone and be left armless. Which was certainly in the cards if she moved too quickly. He could already hear his arm beginning to disconnect.

((Sure that works. XD))

"True..unf." He winced slightly as she hit a particularly tender spot on his back. "We could just put it in a basket and carry it along with us. Easy as pie." Ventash'ma laughed, keeping a firm grip on his hair that was slung over his shoulder.

"Its what happens when your on guard all the time I guess. Ready to spring into action at a moments notice you gotta be poised, ready to pounce." The male was always tense, even when he didn't realize he was. It was just that protective nature really. If he mainly lazed about all day and then suddenly someone or something came after his family, how ready would he be to defend them? It seemed like he was fairly on edge most of the time but at least he could keep a calm composure.

Chath glanced over at her parents for a moment, kicking her legs back and forth. Stirring the water around. But her attention was soon wrenched away as she spotted a little bug floating on the water. It wasn't dead, it seemed to be gliding along the wet surface on its legs. How odd.

Cupping her paws, she lifted it out of the water and walked back over to her parents. Thrusting the bug up at her mother. "Buggie!"

Rinko's eyes opened slowly, her senses awakening to the sound of steady breathing beside her. It took her a moment to remember where she was and as soon as she did she closed her eyes, relaxing back into the furs and slowly coming to. The warmth of another body at he side put a smile on her face, Kebas. Her long hair spilled like water, pooling around both of them and adding a striking contrast against the fur of her mate. She licked her lips and fought to open her eyes once more. Morning were a b***h sometimes. Her tail curled upward, her lithe body stretching luxuriously though she was a bit sore, it had been a looooong night. The events of the evening came to her in slow procession and each one seemed to spark in her a fire that steadily awoke her. Leaning up and over, she kissed her mate on the lips before resting her head on his chest and finding it hard to fight her slowly closing eyelids.

The rain had long stopped, only the sound of birds in the distance were heard, that and the slow, rhythmic carress of the wind through the trees. A sound that put her nerves to rest and her mind to drifting. This was amazing. She'd never felt so.. what was the word? Happy? Content? Safe? All of the above? Deep in her chest came a livid purr of contentment. Her head resting against his chest, listening to the beating of his heart. She remembered well the day that they had met and how things had progressed from a casual fling to this was, well, for lack of a better word amazing. She'd never expected to find love, she'd never expected to find someone like him.

Aullana winced a little as she hit a tender spot, her paws moving over it softly to ease out the pain before she continued on. "Haha, a living Chath head in a basket. I wonder how well the relatives would take to something like that." She laughed softly, bringing water up from the spa to run down his back and relax the tense muscles along the way. His words made her heart flutter with pride, his concern for his family something which she found charming and wonderful. "I suppose that's true." She began, her voice thoughtful and her face reflecting the tone. "Especially out in the wilderness, there are so many things dangers. Though with you, I've never felt safer." She leaned forward, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek and resting her chin on his shoulder.

Chath's voice was suddenly close and as Aullana looked down at her baby, ready to compliment her on her find. She gave a startled yelp, one paw resting on her chest to calm her hearbeat. She hadn't expected the bug to be so close to her face when she'd leaned down. Blinking, the petite female smiled and tilted her head to one side. "Wow, that's an amazing bug darling. What are you going to do with him?" Her paws slid back up to Ventash'ma's shoulders, moving to his neck and finally his scalp which she gave a light massage with both claws and paws. Her eyes trained down at the bug and her adorable baby, silently praying Chath didn't have a mind to give mommy a present.

Sunlight shone through the tangled branches shoved into the entry way of the cave. Little beams of light reached only a few feet in, but the sun had become bright enough to give the cave a dim atmosphere.

Kebas laid there, next to Rinko. His ears twitching as he slept. Indeed it had been a long night. And he was tired. Probably to the point of sleeping all day. But as he felt movement beside him and a bit of weight on his chest. The male's golden eyes slipped open slightly. Peering down at the head of his mate which now lay there. An arm twitched before it wrapped around her, pulling her close to his chest as a small smile came to his lips.

This beat waking up alone anytime.

"I wouldn't know. They'd probably be a bit confused and call me a dud or something for having only a head as a kid." He chuckled. Body relaxing a bit more as she went softer on the tender spots of his back. Reaching back, he placed a paw on one of her's. Turning his head just slightly so that he could look at her. "I'll never let anything bad happen to you. Or Chath. You both are too precious to me. I don't know if I could go on living without you both in my life." His paw slipped away and down back into the water as he closed his eyes.

It was true. Ever since he met Aullana his life had been wonderful. And when Chath was born it just filled his life with even more joy.

The kit looked down at the little bug she had in her paws with a curious glance. The thought of what to do with it running through her little mind before she pushed it back up at Aullana. "Mommy want? Be good friend. Good buggy." Her little fingers ran softly along its tiny body, careful not to squish it.
