Shadow blushed, but smirked, saying, "Was there ever any doubt?" before kissing her right back.
Meanwhile, Rex had rejoined them and was examining the badge curiously, mentally wondering what exactly the big deal about it was - did it have magic powers or something?

Gym Battle Won (Followed Orders): +10 Trust, +5 Affection, +10 Restraint

Trust: 77 (Obscenely Trusting)
Affection: 91 (???)
Trauma: 60 (Scarred)
Restraint: 50 (Neutral)
Perks:
Big Brother - Shadow has become protective of a Pokémon or person, viewing them as a younger sibling. Trauma and Restraint checks may get bonuses or penalties if said Pokémon or person is involved. Certain checks may even be passed or failed automatically. Current Siblings - Torch the Torchic, Saph the Squirtle

Telepathic Communication: Shadow is capable of communicating with others via telepathy. Should Trust drop below 25, Affection drop below 0, or Trauma rise above 100, he will stop using this ability until the offending stat is corrected.

Human Tongue: Shadow is capable of communicating in English. Should Trust drop below 50, Affection drop below 20, or Trauma rise above 100, he will stop using this ability until the offending stat is corrected.

Stable Aura: Shadow's Aura no longer induces fear in Pokémon, and fellow Dark-types will now automatically view him as a friend, if not borderline worship him. Should Trauma rise above 80, this perk will be lost until it lowers back to 80.

Aura Arsenal (Sub-Perk of Stable Aura): Due to his Aura's new stability, Shadow is now capable of manipulating his Aura, creating Aura-based attacks that do not take up moveslots. Should Stable Aura be lost or otherwise made void, this perk will be disabled as well. Techniques:
- Aura Flare: Shadow flares his aura, dispelling binding/anti-escape moves (Bind, Whirlpool, Mean Look, etc.) and knocking away nearby opponents. Direct damage is negligible, however.
- Aura Skate: Shadow applies Aura to his feet as a sort of padding, allowing him to glide an inch or so above the ground across both liquid and solid surfaces with speeds he normally wouldn't be able to achieve due to friction. This technique also negates the effect of slippery or sticky surfaces. However, Shadow must be in constant motion while using this technique; if he stops, the Aura padding will fail to support his body weight, and he will stop hovering.

Improvisation: Shadow can now invent unique attacks based off his existing move set, observation of others' attacks, instinct, or outright improvising. If he forgets a move, he cannot use any variations on that move unless he later remembers that move. Improvised, observation-based, and instinct-based moves take up moveslots, but variation moves do not.
- Dark Sphere (Instinctive): Dark Sphere is similar to Aura Sphere, but is super-effective against Psychic-types and Ghost-types, normally effective against Dark-types, and even less effective than a normal Aura Sphere against Fairy-types. Should Trauma rise above 60, Shadow will become incapable of using it due to the corresponding increase in his Aura's instability.

Aura Tutor: Shadow is now capable of teaching Trinity and other Pokémon to use Aura. The ones that have the highest chance of being able to learn from him are Fighting-types and Pokémon capable of learning Aura Sphere.

Mega Evolution (Deactivated): You have a Key Stone and Dark Lucarionite. At ≥90 Trust, ≥90 Affection, ≤50 Trauma, and ≥25 Restraint, Shadow can Mega Evolve.

((You can probably name the Affection Inseparable))

Trinity pulled back from the kiss seeing Rex looking confused. She smiled, "Want to know why there is a big deal?" She asked then answered, "The gym badges show how strong and how determined you are. When you get all eight, you are able to enter this big competition. Everyone there also won badges proving their worth to be there. And then they battle and battle until one comes on top to be Pokémon Champion for the region. The championship starts in a couple of months. I have to gather the badges to get in." Trinity explained.

(...Eh, why not?)

Rex brightened slightly and nodded - that, he could understand. "So basically, the badges are like spoils of war, and then everyone who has enough gets together to see who's best?" ...That actually summed it up pretty well.
Shadow, on the other hand, blinked, a little puzzled. "Could've sworn you had to beat the current Champion too before you could be the region's official Champion - isn't that why that Cynthia woman is still the Champion of Sinnoh?" he pointed out.

"Basically that title I was talking about gives you the right and ability to take it farther. You can battle against this region's elite four then the real Champion. It's all about titles and such." Trinity said shrugging. "I truly don't really know. I just know that there will be a lot of battles." She said to the two.

"...Good enough for me," Shadow decided after a moment, deciding not to overthink it.
Rex, on the other hand, nodded, his innocent mind simplifying things. "So first you gotta prove you're one of the best, then you can battle the best of the best. Got it. So, what now?" he asked excitedly, obviously still all hyper from watching the battles.

(Sooo, quick question concerning this region's antagonist: would you prefer a reluctant antagonist or a sadistic and twisted one?)

(...Sure, why not?)

Rex nodded, grinning cheerfully. "Let's go then, I'm starving!" he declared, practically rushing out the door.
Shadow shook his head in exasperation at Rex's antics, corners of his lips twitching upward slightly despite himself. "I swear, all that idiot thinks about is food and battling," he noted wryly; still, Rex's innocent enthusiasm was rather endearing, not that Shadow would ever admit such out loud.
Rex immediately turned and puffed out his chest. "Hey! I heard that! You wanna go? Huh? Huh?" He put his fists up comically and began hopping from one foot to the other.
Shadow just stared a moment before turning to Trinity. "...Did you give him sugar, or does he just have this weird hyper reaction to watching a battle?"

Trinity rolled her eyes then said, "I'm pretty sure it was the battles but he could also be hungry. I think you are hungry too after your battles." She said playfully stroking his stomach and following quickly after Rex. Trinity giggled to herself.

(That's what I was planning. Already have an OC in mind for the "reluctant" role, now just need to make his handler.)

Shadow just gave off the impression that he had no idea what she was talking about, despite the fact that his stomach was growling softly. Still, he followed her, discreetly staring at her a** the whole time.
Rex grinned, seeming to completely forget about Shadow's comment. "All right, let's eat!" He hurried onward, then paused. "...Er, where are we eating again?"
The group was completely oblivious to two sets of eyes watching them - one cold and calculating with a sadistic gleam, the other gentle, yet... resigned, for lack of a better word.

((Ok ^^))

Trinity smiled at Rex as she ignored Shadow staring at her a**. "Well, we have a early start tomorrow so we just better get something at the Pokemon center cafe." She said walking back to the center. She also needed to check in her Pokemon that had battled so that they may heal up.

((Maybe you can make one of them attracted to Trinity? Either the cold one so that she would go to the dark side or the gentle one?))

(Hmm... sure, why not? Which would you prefer, the sadist or the pacifist?
On a side note, I'm currently making more Team Rocket antagonists for four of the other five regions. mrgreen )

Shadow tore his eyes from the view and nodded. "Sounds like a plan," he agreed.
Rex grinned. "Yay! Food!" he cheered, acting like his usual semi-childish self... and then pausing, looking around with a faintly puzzled expression as he kept walking. 'Huh, there's some kind of smell in the air - kinda like my armpit after training, 'cept nowhere near as stinky...'
Shadow seemed to pick up on it as well, because he was sniffing the air with a similarly puzzled expression that was quickly turning rather wary.
Their watcher with the gentle eyes blinked, then sniffed the air as well - apparently his handler had forgotten to mask his scent. Maybe they'd realize something was wrong and get out of there before Gladius forced him to attack?

(Okay then.)

Shadow nodded, starting to lead Rex over to the café. However, on the way there, they were confronted by a strange boy with silver eyes... and a distinct red R on his shirt that made the two tense. "I don't suppose I could convince you to come quietly?" he asked softly.
Shadow stared coldly, not letting on just how baffled he was by the man's demeanor. "No, you can't," he answered curtly.
The boy frowned slightly. "I see... sorry about this, then."
"Ace, what have I told you about trying this s**t with the targets?"
The cat-boy - Ace, apparently - flinched, gaze darting behind him, where a muscular boy was watching coldly with crossed arms. "S-Sorry, Gladius..."
"You better be, you spineless wimp; this is why I was paired with you in the first place, to make sure you didn't let the targets run away again." The brown-haired boy's gaze then wandered behind Shadow, and he smirked sadistically. "Break them."
The next thing Shadow knew was pain as a high-level Medicham's point-blank High Jump Kick connected with the small of his back, shortly followed by more pain as the higher-leveled Pokémon basically beat him senseless.
Rex immediately sprang into action, letting Aero out of his Pokéball and immediately using his copying ability. Even as he shifted and changed, he and Aero rushed the Medicham.
Gladius glanced over from the glorified beatdown Shadow was getting and frowned when he saw the human/Aerodactyl hybrid going to interfere. "Ace, take care of the fossil-boy." When the cat-boy seemed to hesitate, a simple shift toward a remote on his belt caused Ace to flinch as if in pain.
Ace reluctantly complied, tossing out a Pokéball and releasing a Vigoroth. "Kong, use Return on the Aerodactyl and his Trainer - keep them away from Gladius's fight," he reluctantly ordered the Normal-type.
The Vigoroth - Kong, apparently - seemed about as happy about this as his Trainer did, but nevertheless nodded. He burst forward, immediately becoming enveloped in an aura of energy, slamming into Rex and Aero hard enough to send them flying into a nearby wall. When they got up and tried to attack the Medicham again, the Vigoroth once again acted to keep them away, this time by literally placing himself in the way repeatedly, quickly causing Aero to screech in frustration.
Meanwhile, Bur, who Rex had sneak away during his and Aero's attack, quickly hurried to Trinity and tugged on her leg. While he couldn't speak English like Shadow, the little guy managed to get across the idea that the others were in trouble via frantic noises and arm-waving.

Trinity got the idea that something was wrong from Bur. Quickly she took back her pokemon. She ran following after bur as he lead the way to the others. She held in the scream she had at seeing how beat up Shadow was. Trinity instinctively unleashed her aura to cover Shadow. "Out all of you!" She commanded with a glare. The others came out of their poke-balls and focused on the battle. "No holding back, Jet use Furk Attack aim to make them bleed. Aster, i don't know how but poison them to hell. Torch, use either double kick or ember. Saph use water gun." She ordered as she ran over to the other boys. Trinity glared at the two. "You made a big mistake in attacking these two." She warned. Trinity roundhouse kicked the cat-boy before attacking the muscular boy in a mix style of a Blaziken and Lucario.

Gladius smirked as he dodged each and every one of Trinity's attack. "My oh my, you're a feisty one aren't you?" he practically purred before starting to attack right back, aiming to incapacitate. "You know, if you hand over the Lucario and the fossil runt, I might be persuaded to put in a good word for you, make you my girl." He then frowned in annoyance when he noticed Ace seemingly unconscious. "Tch... damn pacifist's playing possum again..." He pressed a button on the remote at his belt.
The result was immediate: the collar around Ace's neck became electrified, causing the cat-boy's eyes to snap open as he screamed in pain. This in turn distracted the Vigoroth, allowing the other Pokémon to get the Medicham off Shadow's back... though unfortunately, it seemed more than capable of taking all four plus Aero, Rex, and Bur simultaneously, only their constant attacks keeping it from "breaking" them as well.

Trust: 77 (Obscenely Trusting)
Affection: 91 (Inseparable)
