Corbin....

*Currently, Roan was in Barton itself, at the markets. Clothes shopping, of all things, at her preferred retailers who were not only used to making custom red leathers, but also having to do so very swiftly at strange hours.

But she knew. She knew even before the skies darkened. Her skin tingled well before the first strike of lightning. She stood outside, while others hid indoors, shopping bags in her arms, and just watched, her heart in her throat with tension as she waited.

She hadnt expected him back yet. Nor did she know what to expect. Iden assured her the hate was gone but.... How she feared his disappointment in her, and the reminder of all she had failed him in.

But then... something wasnt right. She knew it in her heart, and it was like a chain linking her to him suddenly tightened. In hate or in love, they WERE linked, and right now... THERE was where she needed to be. The shopping was discarded as she started to run. Within just a few ,minutes, burning her top speed, she was at his side, skidding down the side of the crater, one hand braced on Narok;s statue as she crashed to her knees at his side, then pulled him into her lap, aghast at his appearance.

Something... was wrong. Curling over him to protect him, she looked for any sign of life in his body*

Triste Wulf
She hesitated for a moment before taking the materials from the burlap as they where presented. It was very clear where they had been harvested from, she shuddered to think if they had lost these scraps of flesh before death or mercifully after. Even still, the choice was not left to her as shed already resigned herself to such when she started.

"Alright...you asked for it."

Taking a single strip of flesh she laid it upon his forearm. She took a few moments to feel the texture of his own undead skin and that of the human sample. If she concentrated on both she could almost feel the properties of the different skins; a far different feeling than manipulating her own silicate structure.

It took a bit of coaxing but slowly she began to stretch the skin over his arm to slowly intermingle it with his undead flesh. Slowgoing at first it, it was a short while before she was demonstrating the more crude of the two skills. For her next graft she moved further up into his shoulder. Pressing her thumbs into his skin she knitter her brows together in concentration as she poured her resources into altering the makeup of the sample.

That I did my dear...

*smiling, then settlign back to let her work, he didnt interrupt, but let her learn by feel what she was doing. she had the essence of it perfect until....*

Arrghhhh! Steady! Remember - always protect the nerves. Even when imbuing flesh with characteristics of another, the nerves will react. ALWAYS you must shield them, to nullify pain. Unless you WANT the pain to happen of course.

Would you care to try bone?

Bloodied bandages hung from his body, under the stasis vest he wore, even under the strictly bound leather coating his skin. Roan would beable to sense it, even if she was unfamiliar with the immortality gift of the Infinitas discipline. Corbin's body wasn't entirely ready. He had emmerged from his stasis prematurely and his body was caught nearly mid torporis, and undead.

She'd also know however, that wasn't the only problem.

Weakly, Corbin's left eye struggled to open and stare blankly up past her, little to any life in that indigo hue.

"He's coming... Have to, prepare."

As seconds passed, the Cainite, in serious need of vitae and still more rest, focussed more on Roan, his voice muffled by the plating over his face.

"Heh.. You should see, the look on your face... Mistress."

With that last word, he faded once more out of his conscious state, and went limp in her arms. He needed blood, but couldn't simply drink, as much was clear from the state of his body. Face plate, and plugs all over his body, still marred with vitae.

Oh you stupid, beautiful boy...

*She was crying. She didnt know when she'd started, but she was crying and she was smiling at the same time.
Gathering him up, she held him close to what warmth her body had and ran.

Half way up the crater, with a last look back at the statue, a whispered thank-you was all that was left before she vanished. Where? To take Corbin home. He was in desperate need and DAMN if she wasnt going to do everything she could.*

"Ack! Sorry, sorry sorry!"

She muttered frequent apologies as she went about quelling his nerves. Once she finished with the flesh she nodded slowly as he asked her about bone next. She was still pretty shaken up about accidentally hurting him but her analytical skills kept her from making another grievous mistake.

Deployment.

The journey was to be fairly uneventful. The trio would find their way to the local private airstrip (no doubt Iden was going to bum a ride off Will). There, the flight had been arranged: a private plane, chartered from a group known to Iden for their willingness to smuggle people and goods across most any civilized border for the right price. He'd worked with them in the past, and knew that the services were good, if a little costly. Having already paid in advance, the only thing remaining was to board and fly out.

The trip itself would be incredibly uneventful. Each of the DeSeer boys could pass it as they saw fit; Iden, for one, found himself lost to music to keep his mind astray. Hours crawled on, and the droning of the engines was all encompassing for every mile of the way. Only after the passing of midnight did they reach the destination.

The aircraft would set down on a small, rugged patch of dirt that claimed to be an airfield some several miles from the target port. They would be driving the rest of the way, but it had at least avoided complications from customs and law enforcement. This left Iden and Will to depart on their job; how Reign chose to proceed (whether with his brothers, or alone) was his choice to make. Time already would be fairly tight; the drive would take another few hours, and leave them in need of shelter before the rising of the sun.

Reign had passed the trip by playing a game on his PSP, headphones in as he smashed things much bigger than the character he was playing. Rather boring uneventful and quiet, was how the Ex-Gangrel was for the trip. However, when they landed, once he was out, he grinned. Time for another preparation. While Iden and William drove off, Reign would find a spot with a bit of protection and use his protean to shapeshift into the Red-shouldered Hawk form he had. The problem with this, if he'd be using it to keep an eye on Iden and William was that it wasn't a bird native to the region, he was going on the wing to find one to taste, so he could use that form for the mission. Simple concept for hiding in plain sight.

.:I'll catch up to you two in town, Need to catch a bird first..:.

He'd send to both Iden and William before he was off on the winds. His path would likely follow theirs but his intended destination was along the coast. Being on the wing, small and fast, and taking advantage of the air currents, he'd have his intended form before they needed to find shelter. If not, he'd just catch up to them before he was in danger of the sun.

Having spent most of the trip either going over his equipment, sleeping, or reading ; William was ready to get off of the plane as quickly as possible, nearly sprinting off the ramp once it was down. Seeing a pile of rust and s**t that was supposedly their truck, William trudged over towards the junkyard on wheels and began to load his and Iden's bags into into the bed of the rust-box.

"Well at least the plane was in better condition; where exactly are we heading to Iden?"

Running around the truck, William began checking over every square inch of the vehicle making sure that it was ready and would handle rouge use if the s**t hit the fan too quickly. While not as shiney and well kept up as the C-119 flying boxcar that they had just flown over in; it would do the job well enough, it wasn't pretty but it was built like a brick s**t-house. Hopping into the drivers seat, Will smiled a bit when he saw that it was a stick shift 4-wheel drive; something that would most likely come in very handy later. Collapsing the stock on his rifle and setting it in the seat next to him, William started the truck and listened for any problems.

*Egypt, what fun Egypt. Hot in the day, freezing at night, and no one knew how to drive. What's a roundabout? Ishii ishii!

Mathieu had been busy since Iden's last visit. But, thankfully, he didnt have a clue that the pesky blue haired punk was after him. Not least of which was becuase the LAST time they had met, business had TECHnically been concluded... right?

Now based in a several stories tall white building just away form the port, Mathieu went about business as usual. He had tanked up the team around him, and in lieu of his old benefactor, he'd fallen fully to the back up plan. The 'hissy' woman that had been athis side last time was still in residence, and the guards around the dockside operation, and Mathieu's new base of operations were rather... erm... big. Worse, the logo on the boxes clearly red 'Pentex'.*

Iden climbed into the truck's shotgun seat and slung his kit into the back. Right now, he was dressed casual; jeans, a weathered old wifebeater and a plain button down shirt left open. If not for the hair, he would look rather natural in these parts. It was fairly clear, then, that he wasn't looking to draw attention through first appearances.

Having heard the parting words from Reign, Iden put the hunter out of mind. Best not to rely on the observer, lest they drag him into a role he was ill equipped for. Instead, his gaze shifted to Will.

Port's the first stop. Before we do anything, we're making goddamn sure we have a boat big enough to drive onto, and small enough that the two of us can run the damn thing for extraction. If we can't find that, then this job gets extended for a few days to a week longer than intended to make up for it...we need to be damn certain that all bases are covered.

It was unusual for Iden to say such. Usually, he was a very impulsive man about the work he did; such preparation could only mean he was genuinely concerned for the outcome of the job. But of course, he knew Pentex, and he knew his prey...he would not be guilty of underestimating them a second time. By that logic, he kept as well out of sight as he could once the pair reached civilization. His hair was kept bundled up under a cap as best as could be managed, and he urged Will to not get too close to anyone. After all, if word came 'round of a blue-haired man wandering the town after dark, the wrath of god would be swift to follow them both.

Will? Do me one big favor. Take us around to the slummier bits of town. We need a place to stay, and that's likely more safe than anywhere reputable.

Translation: it's no doubt safer to be in a place without cameras and required photo ID...

Strating the engine, the trucks big v8 turning over with a roar, Will eased the rust bucket into gear and started off towards the docks; trying to avoid as many bumps in the 'road' as possible, and failing miserably at it due to the road being nothing more than a depression in the sand dunes with evidence of sporadic use. With his vest in one of his bags in the bed, Will was clad in the clothes he had worn on the plane, his pair of glacier climber sunglasses to hide his eyes, and a large bandanna to hide his ears; he didn't know how common or un-common things like he and Iden where around here so airing on the side of caution seemed like the best route to take.

"So what exactly are we gonna do once we find this a*****e; just walk up and start kidnapping important personnel? Or are we going after the main guy right off the bat?"

Spotting the lights of the city and port after a decent times drive, William heeded Iden's advice of staying out of the more proper areas of town and stuck to the seedier areas; keeping his eyes open for anyone/thing that may warrant a bullet in the head, and glancing in the back at their things to make sure any street urchins didn't try and raid them. Driving through the gates surrounding the docks, Will steered them more towards the personal and pleasure craft area; the larger shipping vessels would most certainly take their beater truck but would also be slower than hell in leaving and impossible for the two of them to man alone.

No, Will...we're not. On either count.

Short and simple, Iden didn't approve of either idea. His eyes drifted about, keeping a wary gaze at the town as they drove about. God alone knew he was growing paranoid already; there were too many eyes that could belong to the bad man. He was beginning to think he shouldn't have come...rather, he should have let Will drop him off outside of town.

Finding him is easy. You can be almost certain that Mathieu is in his main facility, enjoying the most luxury his trade can provide at any given time. The issue is going to be the takedown; he's likely backed by powers that you don't want to mess with. We're going to need to tread very lightly here, kid...you're going to be doing a lot of this work near enough to solo. I can't be seen around here, Mathieu and his higher echelons know my face too well.

In truth, that was only the beginning of the complications. Iden's presence would attract a great deal more attention than just that. The truth of the matter was, he was going to need to play this very, very sneakily. That meant a few measures that were not necessarily good, but absolutely important.

Tomorrow evening, you're going to the docks. You're going to memorize every single facet of the waterfront there is, and you're going to pick out every single boat in order from most to least useful for our needs. Be casual, be nonchalant, and for the love of God, don't be armed enough to draw attention. We get made too soon, and this whole op is a bust. We don't have the firepower to handle a direct confrontation.

"understood, you do know that I can be out and about during the day don't you? Technically I can go all day and night collecting recon data, though I won't be pushing myself that hard unless I really need to; I don't want to be passing out the moment the s**t hits the fan."

Put putting about the docks, Will was casually scanning about the area observing which boats were where, how the operations where run there; the usual s**t that needed to be learned if one was to use the area to run for their lives. The thought of how easily Iden would be spotted here had William thinking about ways to disguise him; mostly starting with dying and possibly even cutting his hair, along with the usual clothes and other things.

"Where are we gonna be staying while we are here; you have some motel or safe house set up in advance I'm hoping, or are we just gonna be sleeping in the truck?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 14, 2010 10:39 am

Keep your eyes peeled for a pump station or sewer connection. I'm going to be operating out of there for the time being...and you'll need to find yourself a hole for your own needs, be it mine or somewhere else.

One complication managed. The town had a working sewer system, therefore it had a place for them to stay. The hard part was yet to come.

Nodding, Iden sighed and leaned back in his seat. The headache was back with a vengeance. A moment of showing it would pass, before he was back to his businesslike facade.

Right now, the tentative plan is to start at the bottom and insert from below. Quick, quiet, and ideally minimal on collateral damage.

Catching Iden's sudden bout of weakness, Will frowned just a bit; the man was in pain but managing, he would be fine for now probably just needed a drink from the bags Roan had given him. Circling the dock one more time, Will headed for the gate once more; there wasn't much that could be done tonight, they still needed to pick out a place for each of them to stay for the night; Iden already said he was going to be at a pump station, so he would take up residence in town. No need for anyone to wonder why their pickup truck was making so many trips back and forth from town to a pumping station a day.

Once there, William made sure that there was no one inside before starting to off load most of their things; the bigger guns and pieces of kit where going to wait here with Iden, while only two of Will's personal bags where going to stay with him. Reaching into one of his overnight bags, Will dug out what looked like a big and bulky radio; stepping over to his brother Will slapped the big piece of plastic and metal into the mans hand.

"You should know what this is, I got the other one in my bad; they're both coded so even if someone is listening in, they won't understand what in the hell is being said. I'll call you once I get a place and have all my s**t set up alright; you gonna be ok here by yourself?"
