Blood! A couple of pints of your blood could get you some money. Or you could donate yer brain, don' need that one, ait?

No, no... not the brain, without it I can't build, read, or paint...
But the blood works. And so did my left lung, didn't need it.
And so would a steady job... But the only places that will hire me are full and they're still building a Jack-in-the-Box where I could find an easy high-school job with which to gain wasting-money.
But luckily there is the internet and its clandestine ways. So I have the kind of Vraks I shouldn't have until I can replace it with a hard copy.
So fun-fun-fun with the reading and the spending of moneys on models instead.

I run an Imp Guard army that really shouldn't be as effective as it is. You see my friends all run armies that get up in my face real quick so I needed to have something to combat it. That was when I discovered that Imperial guard officers with Power fists really aren't giving up anything when they strike last.
except when they are killed by power swords instantly. xd

or get shot to pieces by the tau(plasma rifles and railguns baby, hell yea) smile

You'd be surprised how ineffective those guns are when you turn them into shell craters with a trio of Basilisks.
I love artillery so much.

Or when you realize that you've only killed a dozen or two Guardsmen, but there's till another hundred right behind them. 3nodding

That works too if you like the meat grinder. There's only so much a couple of dozen shots can do to a couple of hundred men. On the other hand, there's great potential for a couple of hundred really crappy shots to actually do something.

If I had the money or ran a plastic army, I'd probably utilize a lot more Guardsmen. The most I've used is like four normal squads and two Grenadiers in one battle, and it was an Apocolypse 3000 point battle. confused That noted, I need more Guardsmen, two of my normal infantry squads are Cadians...

I think I have a little under a hundred men in total...
Lemme think...
Eighty footmen without counting my Magos, Inquisitor, and the Magos's drones.
I need more men...
Which is what the Gorgon squads and a bag full of bases is for. Two hundred dollars and I'll have a hundred more men.
But I still mostly rely on armoured superiority, which I shouldn't. Which is why armoured superiority has become artillery superiority, which is effective with my tendency for deploying grenadiers and storm troopers to keep the arty safe if they draw in close.
And did I mention the Macharius?

Question. I notice a lot of drop gaurd armies use heavy weapons in the infantry squads. Rather than say maxing out on assault weapons like flamers or meltas. My experience with drop marines was to always stick to guns you can fire first turn you drop so you can either get moving or so you make use of it before you get assaulted if fighting that kind of army. Ive never played a drop gaurd army, so anyone experienced with them that uses heavy infantry weapon have any reasons why they use them?

And is the trend of heavy weapons in squads just something down here, or something others of you are familiar with as well?

Sadly, I am but an artillery specialist and the only Guard player around here who doesn't attempt to bury everyone under a tank. And there are only two of us...
But I imagine you might want some heavy weapons in the normal squads to add some tank-hunting to the mix. But then again, that's what meltas are for...
I really can't come up with a rational explanation.

hey I have drop troops too. I just happen to like tanks more than the troops. The said I like to use Heavy Weapons in my drop troops and ill tell you why. When you create a heavy weapons teams it does not take away the guardsmens lasguns. So they would be able to shoot their lasguns on the turn they drop and they pull out the heavy firepower next turn. Which can work to work advantage if youve dropped a lacannon to the rear of your enemys armor.

Problem with drop guard is, they scatter and they are guardsmen. So they can't take a lot of punishment, unlike marines. Most players find it too risky to drop the squads with just assault weapons and their support teams with the heavy weapons separately. Chances are that the support will drop into the enemy and be killed in one swift stroke. Six men die easier than ten, especially if they can't fire back with their heavy weapons in the turn they land.

The FW Elysian list forces people to take infantry squads with just an assault weapon (but also a demo charge can be taken to even the odds) and that the support squads drop separate with their heavy equipment.

It is a risky thing, especially when low on vehicles. Drop troops sound nice on paper, but when you drop in the midst of an enemy army you really don't stand much of a chance.

That actually makes really good sense... I'd not have thought about it with my nonconcern for the majority of my men's safety and a preference for segregating my army by role.

another con to dropping support teams is their base size.
