They are in a squad of 1 - 3. They are ok if you keep them to one use, either quick anti-infantry or quick anti-tank.

Here's my army list (It's amazing in combat, too, btw)
Roughly 2.5k points without many ups. (I can make it an easy 3k)

6-Broadsides total
18-Crisis Battle suits (9 for elites, 2 for Main commander BG and 7 for Farsight BG)
1-Commander w/ AFP and C&C node
1-Custom Farsight with dual-Dawn Blade, Twin linked Plasma, and shield. (I stress the custom on him)
3-SkyRay/HammerHead/Devil fish Conversions
1-Devil Fish
8- Pathfinders total (4 have Snipers. I don't recommend them highly)
6- Stealth Suits total
4- Complete Firewarrior Squads
3- Complete Gun drone squads
15- Kroot Carnivores total (meatshields, if usable)
And an array of extras units, bits, and pieces that don't fit into the layout.

I HIGHLY recommend the Jumpsuit army. Their weapons can be rearranged for any kind of battle. They're perfect for dropping in to say hello, especially if farsight leads it. wink
Tyranids don't stand a chance in all of Heaven and Hell against that kind of firepower.
The only armies I've had trouble with are the variants of SM and DemonHunters. Those DH are a buggar to take down. They just don't die!
It's an expensive setup, but it's amazing in battle.

A very interesting list... Very interesting.. I myself never have a set list, practically every game I change it.

I like to Mix up my strategy So I Never use the same strategy twice in a row.

It is actually very effective for me as my opponents can't predict How I will move

I apologize that is has taken me so long to respond. I'm at college right now and my army is at home, so when I go home this friday, I will be sure to take a picture and post it for all to see. He's pretty nasty. I'm sure you'll all like him.

Hi guys. I was wondering, what are your opinions on Gun Drone and Sniper Drone Teams?
PostPosted: Sun Dec 14, 2008 3:59 am

absolutely lovely smile
im all about ranged combat, and the farther away i am, the better.
so the sniper rifles rock

the gun drones are nice because the carbines got pinning, and they can move over rough terrain easily. and it doesnt feel like you lost a part of your soul when they get blowd up lol

hey guys
i got a friend who wants a match against me, and hes gonna play his space marines, and point cost is whatever i have so i think itll be about a 5-600 point battle.

im just asking for some strategy help with my tau army, since i havent had many chances to use them, and the few chances i have were against my room mates nids.

so what i got thus far, is:
-A devilfish,
-2 firewarrior squads, one with pulse carbines, and the other with rifles.
-I have one broadside with smart missles and the ion or whatever cannon. -I got two crisis suits with a gun drone following each:
-one has... twinlinked plasma i think, and a burst cannon.
-the other has the shield generator, burst cannon and.... something else, cant remember what, i think some sort of targetting or sensor thing. (i dont have my models handy, otherwise id check, i may update this later)
-I also have a squad of 3 stealthsuits:
-One has the fusion blaster (i think its called) and a marker light, and
i think a drone controller, not positive.
-The other two just have burst cannons.
-And i have a squad of 4 gun drones.

i also have 1 and a half kroot models dont, so i may or may not have them done by the time we fight.

im not sure what he'll put in his army, but i think its safe to say he has at least one of every model, except drop pod, i know he doesnt have one.
and from what ive heard, hes got very balanced troops in terms of offense-defense and melee-ranged

so guys, any tips?

Shoot the hell out of him mrgreen
It depends what game your playing, just target the things you find nasty, look in his codex about them.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 30, 2008 11:37 am

You might need to read up on your codex quite a bit seeing as you are very unfamiliar with your own units and their weapons. You might want to go for a fast and mobile army, let one squad of fire warriors go on foot, the others in the Devilfish scoot forward to grab the objective under support of the crisis and stealth suits. You can out shoot those marines most likely, just be careful to keep them away and don't lose sight of the objectives.
