While a Guardsman at heart, I am itching to give World Eaters a try, dying to hear what kind of agitated voices they used for these screaming psychos. They can easily wipe the floor with most assault units, no morale to speak off amkes it even better, maybe even something along the lines of frenzy. twisted

stare Pardon my slang, but a whole lot of idiots who know nothing about the game and are easy to mislead are drawn in by these corny tag lines.
The games industry is almost turning into Hollywood when it comes to commercials.

All 40K army/races are good in their own way. Its those Star Craft jerk offs you should hate.

Personally I'm disapointed in the lack of effort for this expansion. one new army.. and one new unit for each existing race? wtf?
I may sound narrow minded but I really tire of how much the imperium is FORCED as the dominants and with imperium I do include chaos because they are just the evil half.
Is it too much to ask for more attention to the alien races? I understand for a gaming company the creation of such vast creations is difficult and time consuming but with the amount of glitches the release of DOW had... I'm fraid of Winter Assault and it's quick release.
If they are to release some alien races.. I'm rooting for Tau and Tyranid to be next in line, they are bio polar opposites in the style of combat and would add some serious flavour to the game itself in my opinion.
But I won't be too hard bent on the new game, I'm still going to get it and see how the new stuff performs before I really make up my mind. Never know.. the guard just might fit into the world. lol
peace out

Okay, first off, what's the matter with StarCraft?
And secondly, something that I always wanted to play in DoW was the Imperial Guard vs the Tyranids, in the snow. That would kick a**.

Sorry, but you can only crank out so much in the window span of a year. I'd like to see you try and get your team to crank out a new game in a year time without wrecking lives and the game itself. Winter Assault is more or less a big tweak next to the addition of a new army and those new units.
As for the Imperium versus Chaos thing, only stupid people still think that there is a whole "good-guy / bad-guy" thing in Warhammer. Most of the DoW players are wittless as to how the 40k universe ticks, so THQ wants the story dumbed down and easier to understand.
Imperium = good.
Eldar = neutral.
Chaos and orks = Baaaaad...
