"It's not your fault. It's mine. I'm sorry." Lily whispered, pulling her knees to her chest. "I k-know that you want to save part of her, but even if you do, how do you know that little part isn't just as conniving as the rest of her? W-what if she t-t-takes you away again?"

Arlen sat down and wrapped his arms around her. "I don't know," he said, trying to comfort her even though he felt like he had a knife stuck in his chest at knowing what was to come. "I don't know."

Having completely forgotten about his hangover by now, Lily turned and hid her face in his chest, sobbing as she clutched at his shirt.

Arlen held Lily against him, rubbing her back as soothingly as he could manage. He wanted to say it would be alright, but he couldn't bring himself to lie to her.

As of yet, Lily had no idea at all that he was hiding something from her, and so, she allowed herself to relax and take the comfort that he offered. Soon, she'd exhausted herself, and she was leaning on him completely, giving a bit of a yawn before she spoke. "I just... don't know... what I'd do... ... if I lost you..." With that, she fell asleep, his shirt still held tightly in her hands.

That didn't help Arlen feel better at all. "Lily," he said softly, and stopped himself. Carefully he lifted her into his arms and started to carry her upstairs.

River twidled with a knife her voice felt alot better, but she wanted more tea for it so she was waiting for the water to boil in the pot on the stove. "..Pain, You can never get enough." She mocked herself and grunted throwing the small knife into the sink, it clinked around before falling to the bottom of it with a few dishes. " Humph.." She leaned onto her arm playing with a peice of hair eyes bored and tired looking at the pot the water bubbling inside it; you could almost hear it.

The silence in her head just made everything else quieter and quieter, and she couldn't stand it; she needed some kind of noise. Looking at the piano she stood up just when the pot started to whistle. Sighing she walked over and lifted it off the heat, letting steam seep out of it before sturring it up a bit. The sweet tasteless liquid was almost finished.

Daniel had been sitting at the piano for some time, twiddling away softly at the keys. His hair was all behind his shoulders, since it had grown a little bit since he'd gotten to the Muffin. Those faint noises, was the water boiling? But, Daniel had not seen anyone go back to the bar. Perhaps it was only left on, better go take it off, then. He stood, and hopped down from the stage, when his eyes leveled to see River. He waved, with a smile, and instinctively straightened his shirt a little bit with a tug.

Her eyes stared at the cup she had, the one with the chip in it. Though her brow furrowed in frustraiton her lips curled in an angry frown, her eyes where just as hallow as ever. The liquid quickly filled the cup and she turned the heat off on the stove, setting the pot down and picking up her cup. Turning her eyes up at Daniel she blinked she didn't smell him before; maybe because she lacked the attention for it. "Want some?" She asked her voice almost back to normal now.

Daniel glanced down to see her cup of tea, and shook his head. With his index finger, he pointed to the cup he already had prepared, cooling on the bar top. He smiled, and sat down onto a barstool. There wasn't much else to explain how happy he was to see a friend at the bar. Made him happier, brightened his day. Even may have made his stomach flutter a little bit.

Smiling faintly she shrugged, "Alright, alright I see it." She said remaining perfectly calm. Her head started to buzz with things she could do, things she wanted to do and things she really shouldn't think about. " Want me to bring it to you?"She asked him leaning onto the bar sipping the hot liquid, it has no time to cool she liked the burning sensation.

Daniel shook his head, giving a shoulder shrug to signify that it was not important to him. His whole life felt like a game of charades. Smiling at River for a second or two, he held up a 1, teling her to hold on just one second. He stood up, and walked around into the kitchen, where he retrieved something. As he walked back out into the bar, one of his hands was behind his back, while he approached River. Barely able to contain his excitement, he brought his arm around to reveal a perfectly normal singular rose, but, it's petals were perfectly onyx. His hand extended it, as he offered a friendly smile.
